  1. I agree, Lablover27. He might have gone to law school, but I find it very hard to believe that he passed the bar. He clearly has a chip on his shoulder about that and wants everyone to think he's a lawyer simply because he went to law school, (if that is even true).

Like your brother, Lablover27, I have a friend from law school who failed the NY bar exam twice, (hey, so did JFK, Jr.), and he ended up getting into other work (securities). He's always had law school on his resume, which can never hurt, but he obviously has never held himself out as an attorney just because he went to law school.

I really wish someone on Twitter would challenge little Jimmy to prove he passed the bar. I would think he'd be more than happy to provide proof so he can rub it in the faces of all his detractors.

I love the way he claimed he's "trained as an attorney". No real attorney would say that. They would simply say, "I'm an attorney". And, newsflash for little Jimmy: law school does not "train (you) as an attorney". This guy is such a d-bag.

  2. If Tiny Jimmy did in fact graduate law school AND pass the bar exam, then the only other requirement for admission to the bar would be his Certified Statement of Character. This requires fingerprints that are sent to both the FBI and NJ State Police for a criminal background check.

Lab lover I know your hubby is an attorney , do you have any insight into why Jim isn't practicing?

It's not just that he isn't practicing. He was never admitted to the bar and has never practiced law. He himself even said on that hair pulling episode that he is NOT an attorney. As I've said before, I think he only said that because the cameras are there. Rino thought he was an attorney and I think they all thought that because he's been pretending to be one for years. With the cameras right there, Tiny Jim knew he had to clarify it.

  3. Just days away! Lovebirds Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg planning to marry 'this weekend'

    PUBLISHED: 15:15 EST, 28 August 2014 | UPDATED: 18:10 EST, 28 August 2014

Jenny McCarthy, 41, and Donnie Wahlberg, 45, are reportedly getting married this weekend.

The couple, who got engaged in April, are set to tie the knot on Saturday in a glamorous ceremony in New York in front of their close friends and family.

A source told the HollywoodLife.com: 'They are getting married this weekend and their friends and Donnie's family are flying to New York for the ceremony.'

The 41-year-old beauty - who was recently axed from The View - hinted that her nuptials were soon approaching in July when she admitted that she was in a rush to find the perfect gown for her big day.

The former Playboy model and her fiancé have also been struggling to cut down their guest list, but they refused to get stressed over the upcoming nuptials.

She said last month: 'The hardest part is we have to cut down the wedding list, because the place we're getting married at, it's very boutique. With Donnie's 800 relatives - yes, 800. I've got 6,000 McCarthys.'

She added: 'It's going to be hard to really cut down that list so I'm trying to make sure the core group is there.'

Meanwhile, Jenny - who has 12-year-old son Evan from her marriage to John Mallory Asher - hopes her and Donnie's reception will be 'elegant and pretty.'

Donnie also has sons Xavier, 21, and Elijah, 13, from his previous marriage to Kim Fey.

Jenny previously opened up to People about meeting Wahlberg after a year-long break from dating: 'I knew if I closed my mind to men for too long I might be missing someone who was really right for me.'

She added: 'And then Donnie came along. I am so grateful.'

The John Tucker Must Die actress also revealed to the publication that following her nuptials, she'll get started on an hour-long radio show that will air weekly.

'I love comedy and want to devote my career to it, but I am not a stand-up...My passion is to empower female comics. I want to see them succeed,' Jenny told the magazine.

  4. She's back in London and in rehearsals for the play:

'I can't help that I'm so popular': Lindsay Lohan talks about fame in magazine interview ahead of London theatre debut

    By NICOLA AGIUS FOR MAILONLINE
    PUBLISHED: 16:01 EST, 25 August 2014 | UPDATED: 16:12 EST, 25 August 2014

Things seem to be going well for Lindsay Lohan.

Not only is she set to star in David Mamet's play, Speed The Plow, she's also gracing one of three limited edition covers for next month's issue of trendy magazine, Wonderland.

With the coverline reading: 'I can't help that I'm so popular,' a classic line from her famous movie, Mean Girls, it seems the actress is back to her confident best.

Lohan appears to be thrilled with her latest cover and simply tweeted: 'thank you @wonderlandmag.'

The star is set to make her London theatre debut in just a few weeks.

And clearly excited, the redhead took to her Instagram account on Monday and shared a photo of herself during rehearsals, alongside a couple of colleagues.

Underneath the snap, she wrote: 'Rehearsals!!! #SpeedThePlow with my wonderful cast mates! It’s good to be back at work!!'

Talking exclusively to MailOnline recently, Lindsay admitted she was nervous about her role in her upcoming play.

'I think it's just the idea of when it starts, on opening night, that's what makes me the most nervous. I'll probably mess up on the first night just out of fear,' she confessed.

'I'm excited about the rehearsals, I'm going to be nervous at first obviously, even in the rehearsals.

But I think the more I get comfortable on the stage in rehearsals, the better it will be. I'm nervous for the show. I'm scared.'

The show, which is directed by Lindsay Posner, will run for a limited time at London's Playhouse Theatre from September 24.

  5. I just hope this new production team means that Alexandra "Dusty" Cohen was canned along with Sweaty Geddie.

Longtime producer Bill Geddie leaves 'The View'

    Published Sunday, August 10, 2014 12:08PM EDT

LOS ANGELES -- Change keeps coming to ABC's talk show "The View."

Its longtime executive producer, Bill Geddie, said in a statement Friday that he won't be involved in day-to-day production.

The shift comes as "The View" reshapes its panel of co-hosts for next season. Series creator Barbara Walters has retired from on-camera duties, while Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy won't be returning.

The final new episode with Shepherd and McCarthy airs Monday.

Remaining co-host Whoopi Goldberg will be joined this fall by Rosie O'Donnell, who's back for a second "View" stint. Other co-hosts have yet to be announced.

Geddie says he's "enormously proud" of the show he and Walters created 17 years ago.

ABC had no comment on a replacement for Geddie, who says he plans to help with the transition throughout the upcoming season.

  6. Wow, that reminds me of something from a long, long time ago. When I was in high school and babysitting, I heated up the oven to make the kids something for dinner. I think it was a casserole their mom had left for me to bake. Too bad she didn't tell me about the oven. I turned it on to preheat it and we soon smelled something awful. Well, of all things to store in an oven, she had a huge Tupperware bowl in there! It melted all over the rack and I spent the evening chipping the plastic off of it while I was freezing from having to open all the windows to let out the smoke. Fun times.

  7. On Sept 19th and 20th she is doing comedy in NJ-  $25 a ticket ($32 with buffet) lol

    http://stressfactory.com/enhancedCalendar.cfm?date=09/01/14

Some folks are looking forward to Sherri's days off:

For those who want to see Keke and not Sherri, this is posted on Telecharge:

*Sherri Shepherd will not perform September 19 - 20, September 24, September 28, October 30 and November 7-9.

    http://www.broadwayworld.com/board/readmessage.php?thread=1075381&page=3

The Stress Factory website says she's doing two shows Friday night and two on Saturday night, at 7:30 and 9:45. But, then there's this:

She's also going to the conference that had the how to pack list online. I forget the date for that.

Who the heck is her manager or PR person? They need to be fired, imo. This "description"  is so old it's NOT so funny: http://stressfactory.com/event.cfm?id=333178&cart

That was posted a few pages back:

Oh my I am LOL! Apparently Sherri will be appearing at a conference. On the site for it they included a packing list and dress code! Will Sherri read it? http://activatingamerica.com/activate2k14-conference-packing-list/

That event is also on Friday and Saturday, September 19th and 20th in NYC. Checking the Speakers tab, I see this:

    Opening Conference Speakers include:

Keke Palmer and Sherri Shepherd (*Cinderella on Broadway)

According to the Schedule, Sherri and Keke are kicking off the event at 10 am Saturday morning:

    http://activatingamerica.com/schedule/

    EVENT SCHEDULE

    9:30 AM Early Registration

10:00 AM - Program begins (promptly)

Opening Speaker: Keke Palmer and Sherri Shepherd

Guest Speakers: Jen Groover and Nicole Roberts Jones

    VIP Lunch Presenter: Janell Hazelwood

So, two stand up shows in NJ on Friday night. Back to NYC for this event on Saturday morning, and then back to NJ for two more comedy shows Saturday night. Then, back to NYC for a matinee of Cinderella on Sunday. Looks like her son won't be seeing her much.

  8. Aha! I finally found  the info on the length of Sherri's Cinderella run:

I followed a link to the website for the show:

    http://cinderellaonbroadway.com/

I had looked around that website a few days ago and found no info on the length of her run, just the starting date of September 9th, which is what all the articles say.

So, I clicked on "Get Tickets", which takes you to the Telecharge website:

    https://www.telecharge.com/Broadway/Cinderella/Schedules-Prices?AID=BWY000920400&cm_mmc=Rodgers-and-Hammersteins-Cinderella-_-affiliate-_-web-_-BWY000920400&cm_mmca1=show_site&cm_mmca2=ABWYCI&cm_mmca3=131107

I had looked around there too the other day and found nothing. But, just now I clicked on "Event Overview":

    https://www.telecharge.com/Broadway/Cinderella/Overview

    and found this:

*Sherri Shepherd will not perform September 19 - 20, September 24, September 28, October 30 and November 7-9

So, she's only there until the Sunday before Thanksgiving. It's only an eleven week run and she's skipping eight days during the run.

According to the calendar, there are eight performances a week:

    https://www.telecharge.com/ScheduleAndPricing.aspx?ProductId=9204

On the eight days she won't be there, Sherri is missing eleven performances:

    Friday, Sept 19th - 8 pm

    Saturday, Sept 20th - 2 pm and 8 pm

    Wednesday, Sept 24th - 2 pm

    Sunday, Sept 28th - 3 pm

    Saturday, Nov 8th - 2 pm and 8 pm

    Sunday, Nov 9th - 3 pm

By my count, she will be appearing in the show 77 times (Sept - 20 shows, Oct - 34 shows, Nov - 23 shows).

  9. In her Twitter bio, she says she's an "Actress/fitness model".

She even uses that in her name (not her @name, but her Twitter name). Her most recent tweets are about her son filming a movie, and a photo shoot she did:

  10. Dr. Marisa Silver has added her one time appearance in a Bravo episode to her LinkedIn profile:

    Dr. Marisa R. Silver
Owner, Silverspine Chiropractic and Health / In The Zone Personal Fitness. Cast of Bravo's Extreme guide to parenting.

    Also, in her career summary:

In addition, Dr. Silver has revisited her previous passion of acting. She has appeared on many popular television shows such as Royal Pains, The Big C, Deception etc. and several commercials. She is on Bravo's new series Extreme guide to parenting. The series starts Thursday August 7th 2014 at 9:30/8:30c. Produced by Punched in the head productions.

So, she did this show because she's a wanna-be actress.

How old is Marisa? I was curious since her school friend had a daughter in high school.

    Google tells me she's 45.

  11. Ha, harrie, sesame seed flambe. Yes, that's what it looked like.

Until a coupe of years ago, I had never had a kitchen fire and I do a lot of cooking. Also, last night was my husband's first kitchen fire and he's been cooking a lot for many, many years.

I'm just thankful he didn't leave the kitchen while the sesame seeds were in the toaster oven because he does that frequently and I always tell him how foolish it is to leave the kitchen when he has something on the stove. He's been known to let things boil over and make a huge mess. I hate when that happens.

  12. ^^ Thanks. I just realized there's an arrow in the lower right corner of the pic. Click it for the caption:

COMMERCIAL IMAGE -- In this photo released by Oral-B® on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, Sherri Shepherd is seen behind the scenes as she gets a check-up at the dentist's office before being given an Oral-B electric toothbrush in New York. (Gary He/AP Images for Oral-B)

  13. Oh, I totally believe Sherri talks while brushing her teeth.  Why would she shut up then?  At a time when most people cannot, nor ever would, speak, she's still talking.  Shut the fuck up, Sherri.

Dreamboat Annie, that had me really cracking up!

  14. Back on Page one, I posted about my one and only kitchen fire:

Damn, that sucks, @Bella . If it makes you feel better I can tell you about the time I was heating up something for my kid in the toaster oven, it went up in flames, and I almost set the whole kitchen on fire. My one and only kitchen fire ever. A couple of years later, the kid is still mocking me for my stupidity but I blame Trader Joe's for a flaw in their directions.

Well, tonight Mr. LB decided to match me. We were making a dinner I posted about in the What's for Dinner thread. While the ribs and the broccoli were in the oven, I stepped away for a few minutes to finish up some emails and I asked him to toast the sesame seeds we would need for the broccoli. I even said, "Just throw a couple of tablespoons in the cast iron skillet and heat them quickly for 30 to 60 seconds."

He obviously paid no attention to what I said after I asked him to "toast" the sesame seeds. Next thing I know, an "Oh, shit!!!" is emanating from the kitchen. I look up from my laptop in the family room and see him walking towards the sink with flames shooting up at least a couple of feet. As he put the flaming pan in the sink, the flames shot up and looked like they hit the bottom of the kitchen cabinet, but thankfully they didn't, (lucky for him, ha ha).

Having not heard, or bothered to listen to what I said about toasting the sesame seeds in the cast iron skillet on the stove, he just heard "toast" and placed them on the small pan in the toaster oven, and hit the toast button. He says he left them in there for a few minutes and then noticed they were on fire, (duh).

Fun, fun, fun. The kid thinks it was a much more spectacular fire than the one I caused a couple of years ago. So, the benefit here for me is that he will now be mocking Mr. LB's kitchen fire instead of me and my kitchen fire.

(Btw, Mr. LB is a very good cook, much better than I am. He just doesn't listen very well. After almost 20 years together, I've given up working on it and have just accepted it. He's lucky he's almost perfect in every other way.)

  15. Ribs were on sale this week, so I made the same dinner I made about three weeks ago, which I mentioned back on Page 2 of this thread:

We're making the easiest ribs ever: Anita Lo's "My Mother's BBQ Spare Ribs" (via Martha Stewart).

It pairs nicely with this Roasted Broccoli Recipe with Soy Sauce and Sesame Seeds.

Two very easy and simple recipes that are delicious, along with some rice probably.

Mr. LB and I were cooking this dinner together tonight and we had a slight kitchen mishap. I'll post about it in the Kitchen Disasters thread....
