I want to like this show a lot more then I do.   I always really enjoyed Sons of Anarchy but there is just something missing in this that I just can’t put my finger on.  None of the characters are interesting enough to keep me watching for that much longer and I think I am probably tapping out.

its a shame I watched SOA to the bitter end and enjoyed every second of it.

I like Mayans more than SOA, largely because they focus more on club dynamics and the star crossed lovers crud is much much less.  I hated Jax and Tara with a passion.   The couples on this show are kept more at arm's length.  Well, except for Emily and Miguel and they can be highly annoying particularly during their tete-a-tetes out by the pool.

Logan had a look on his face which said “well, son, I guess you are a killer after all.”  He almost looked proud of him.

Naw, my money is on Logan having set this up.   He knew that the board didn't want his head, so he forced them into taking it.   Shiv can now step in and be the "new face, new era, new company" and the Roys still control everything.

    My guess?  Another distraction/stall technique.

@terrymct, it's time for you to stop being cute and just posting one partially off-topic sentence at a time.  We're going to DL you unless you have a decent defense this time, and not just a stall tactic.

Put some cards on the table and post something of substance.

I'm not certain at this point what a decent defense is.   I'm also not sure what constitutes substance at this point, either.  There are no clues in the above story block.  There's only a few people left who are active.   Someone gave me protection last night, I'd like to think because I don't seem like a big bad.  Someone killed a hero last night.  Wasn't me.  I haven't killed a hero at all.   Come to think of it, I haven't killed a villain either, but I did try to vote in the process a couple of times.

I wasn't trying to be cute when I thanked the people who gave me some pointers either through direct comments or by my watching what they do.  I mean that.  If that's cute, damn it I'm cuter than one of those flat faced Japanese cats trying to fit into a box.  LOL

Nothing I can say at this point will change your mind, I'm sure.  I'm going to stand on the gunwales of the boat, try to make sure my sword is pointing in the right direction and enjoy the heck out of this.

I don't remember if it was a Chief Stew, one of the Captains or one of the general crew who said that the real qualified, experienced, in-demand  yacht crew folks are working for much more elite yacht owners who pay top dollar for the best. And these Below Deck yachties are NOT top of the line.

I would suspect that the owners/managers of some the more expensive boats would prefer staff with more discretion than to be appearing drunk or talking trash about guests on a reality show.

I think Ben acted out more bc a) he doesn't need the Bravo gig anymore and b) he doesn't mesh with any of this crew. He has to actually *like* the people he's working with to be any less temperamental.

The kitchen on this boat really does appear to be a mess.  Small, badly organized, and iffy equipment.  He didn't have any real time to get used to the place or reorganize.

I think he was just miserable being in bed doing absolutely nothing. You should see his Instagram he's always thanking her for believing in him and encouraging him. He's basically like a child seeking his mother's approval.

Miserable in bed doing nothing, while listening to the radio and hearing one of your subordinates take over your job and apparently do very well at it.

Whereas Capt. Lee is the EXACT opposite.  He wants to deal with the boat and believes his supervisors for deck and interior need to handle problems.

In part this is because he has a chief stew who does her job well and hasn't had problems in the past such as schtupping guests or deckhands.  Or having a multi day panic attack because she couldn't control who was dating whom on the boat.   Kate takes no crap off of her staff.  Lee takes none off of his.  They're a good team.

Capt Lee would have zero tolerance for Hannah.

Holy Hell!! Hannah’s Gatsby decor looks like a Saints themed Mardi Gras party. I know because I have thrown them and gone to them. While fun, it’s hardly a  five star Gatsby themed party. 🙄

    Who Dat, baby!! 😉

Hannah and her staff would be incapable of decorating a table if they took those glass pebbles away from them and banned balloons and streamers from the boat.  Oh, let's put out a martini glass with cheap beads in it!  Oooo la la!  It's like they're decorating tables for budget prom.

Honestly, it's not that hard.  They should have boxes of reusable materials (in addition to or other than those glass pebbles).  Maybe even a series of go-to set ups that they regularly put out.  The guests change every few days.  No one will know that the set up has been seen before.

Sandy has her faults, but I'm really now seeing her issues with the inside staff.   They're busy with socializing, hanging out, anything other than their jobs for way too much of the time.  It's great they get along.  Now get along and take care of the guests.

Shiv: "Just be careful, okay? I think I got fucked."

You sure did, Shiv. You sure did.

Not only that, but she doesn't even suspect that her father is in on it.

And for the sake of transparency, terry... if there's a kill tonight, you're the only one who posted toDay that isn't #squadgoals soooo I'll be starting a DL on you tomorrow.

I was trying to think about the clues rather than just jumping on the dog pile like I have in previous votes.  Looks like I waited too long.

  11. A question.   Are there villainous abilities that a person could have that don’t require them to be active in the discussions?  A sniper or whatever the pirate term for that might be?   I see some names in the alive list that I don’t think I’ve seen a post from.  Could a strategy be to nurse a beer in the corner while the active people knock each other off, maybe taking the occasion mysterious potshot?

I've been kissed by a Dementor, burned by Zeus' lightning bolt, stabbed in the gut in an S&M parlor... hell, I was lit up by Drogon in the alleys of Kings Landing four years before that scene was a glimmer in D&D's eyes.

Deaja's been really active all game but disappeared after A1 and I co-signed on sideyeing her yesterday.

Part of this sort of thing is because many people have days of the week that vary due to requirements of work or family.  Deaja may have had a bunch of meetings that day or was dealing with a plumber etc.  Sometimes life interferes with a person's ability to get on line or research clues.

Anyway, all that to say that no way in hell is this crew set up to deliver that kind of experience. It's a joke and totally unfair to expect if of them.

The clients tend to be fairly wasted by dinner time.  "White glove" service could be really watered down.  Wear gloves.  Have a server for each guest.  Come into the dining area in a line, place the plates down at roughly the same time.  That'd be enough to dazzle the clients on this boat.

Clues are an aid to the Heroes, but not meant to be the only thing to rely on.  In fact, they're a fairly unique feature to our style of play.  But analyzing game activity is a constant across most Mafia-style games.  (The stories Drogo and I could tell... not that I want to remember that particular event. 😓)  That's why I went back to look at the votes and, due to Spruce's power, the daily activity.  And based on that analysis, I came to the conclusion that I posted.  I also may have found Mercer in the process, assuming they are indeed a Hero Veteran.

Nope.  aquarian's been character-claiming for a little while now.  Same as me, same as Spruce.  And there's been no counter-claims on that character, so it appears to be a valid claim.

Whatever, Walter.  (Then again, I'm one to talk considering that one game....).  But seriously, Drogo is an advocate for action and discussion.  As long as something pro-active or productive is happening in the game, he's good.  He's also the most likely of us to start a DL on Day 1, but it's because of the reasons already stated.  We just joke that he's the bloodthirsty one.

Are you and Aquarian protecting each other?  Do people make pacts or behind the scenes stuff?

No I don't.  🙂  I am a hero through and through.  And I suspect that everyone that insists on pointing their finger at me are villains looking for an easy scapegoat.  They know who they are, they know I'm not in their group.  They can gang up on me and get another Hero DL-ed.  I've been active all game.  Timing may vary based on work (how many meetings) or after work extra-curriculars but I have been here every game day.  Not that it means anything, since we saw Fetivus was a hero after not being around much.

You've been active, but haven't really put much forward in the way of potential clues.

I was looking forward to seeing what actual white glove service was like. The way Aesha described it, it sounds like a choreographed sequence of events. Aesha said she was actually impressed just watching the crew carry it out.

I've had white glove International dinner service years ago in first class on an airline. Basically, the airline crew had on dark blue jackets and white gloves but the service did not seem to be choreographed. What Aesha described sounded very impressive.

I've had choreographed service at Emeril's restaurants in New Orleans.   As you're sitting there chatting, a waiter comes quietly up behind each person at the table.   The plates all come around you on the proper side and slide simultaneously into place in front of each diner.   It's awesome.  Whoosh!  The meal arrives.  Your main waiter is more of a conductor, giving little signals to the other staff keeping everyone operating together.   The main waiter doesn't put plates down or pick used items up.  Always to the side and the only one talking to you.

It's awesome but has to take some practice.
