OMG, the Pauline - Chloe/Rebecca story isn't even close to the end.  Rebecca's grandmother is cutting Pauline out, firmly but slightly passive aggressively.  Instead of having sensible old Pauline be grateful for getting to know the girl and realizing that Rebecca is actually in a good place with her adoptive grandmother, Pauline wants to get a lawyer.  Yeah, that will end well.   Just so Pauline can have another person sitting around her table for tea.   The arcs for Pauline versus Dot really strike me as odd.  Over the years, Pauline was the one who was generally on top of things even though she was facing a lot of ups and downs.   Dot was the one who life had beaten down and turned into a fairly cold and unlikable person.  Now, though, Dot is happy, friendly (if a little manic still), and has a fairly reasonable view of life.  Pauline is the cold, hard one.  Its like they've switched positions.

I hope Little Mo and Alfie's secret semi-romance comes out soon or at least they stop sneaking off to corners together to talk.  That storyline is wearing thin.  I do agree with most of the characters on the show.  Alfie and Cat are well suited for each other.  Little Mo is more like someone Alfie has to care for, another in the line with his Grandmother and various relatives.  Cat is more of his equal and a challenge for him.

In Washington DC we get two episodes every Saturday morning (which is then repeated Sunday morning).

The episodes are repeated during the week on WETA's UK channel, too.  (One of the DC area's PBS stations has started a channel that's just BBC programming)

[S01.E12: Superhero Fashion]

Twice zero is still zero.

I thought Shan had the best look this week, with Oscar a close second. They should have sent BOTH of Mondo's mentees home.

Shan's look was the clear winner.  It was interesting, wearable, but you could still see it's connections to the theme.  Oscar's cloak was a showstopper, but I didn't like his fabric choice for the suit.  A different fabric and the suit could have been awesome, too.  It's was well made, fit her like a glove, had an interesting shape, but that fabric look like she should be an alien ambassador on Star Trek.

Asha's outfit was sad, particularly the colors on the top.  It was more appropriate for the Hunger Games than a super hero.  She looked dirty.  The top was also wilting during the runway and judging.  That belt kept slipping further and further down off the seam.  Asha should have gone home.

Sam, at first I didn't like the outfit, but then it grew on me.  Those crazy streamers hanging down the back were a big nod to a super hero cape without being too literal.  I after looking at it a couple time, I started to love the wild clash of patterns and designs.  Much like Mondo's own work, the fabric took the design further than the actual shape of the garment.   I'm happy enough that he stayed.

That's it. Proof positive that Asha has blackmail material on the judges. Her top was limp and just frigging sad.

Chrissie, Sam, and Zoe's storyline is definitely coming to a head finally.   It's been interesting, but it's time for either Chrissy or Sam to finally crack or slip up.   I'm tired of Zoe's weeping and the other two throwing barbs at each other.

I've been wondering who will take over the pub when this all finally comes to light.   Johnny Allen would be the obvious choice since he'd have the money to buy it and the skills to step in and run it.  Part of me, though, hopes that Alfie some how manages to get it.

Pauline needs a new storyline asap.  She's more interesting and should have more common sense than what she's been given in the Chloe/Rebecca storyline.

Doug is an asshole. He got a free house out of it?? Seriously? Wtf? If I was his fiancees daughter, I would have punched his lights out.

She should get her mother some psychiatric help, too. What on Earth could Susan see in Doug?

[Mondo Guerra]

I didn't see Mondo's original season, but didn't care for him or his designs on all-stars, so I came into this already not liking him and that has only gotten worse after the whole Natalia fiasco.

He was a lot quieter in his original season, even seeming a little shy at times in comparison to what we're seeing now.   I liked him that first year for two reasons:  1. the man can work a pattern.  Some of his designs were awesome. and 2. he broke with the Mean Girl torment of Michael.

I think my problem with him this season is that we're learning more about him as he talks and his personality goes against what many of us thought (including me).  Then we're not seeing any of his design talent at all, which when he was a contestant could deflect from his personality issues.

[How I Met Your Mother - General Discussion]

Even if I didn't have a problem with the ending, the reaction of the kids rings so false to me. It's fine that they are encouraging Ted to move on, but the unfeeling and offhand way they talk about their own father having actually always been in love with someone else was ridiculous, and not at all "true to life" which is sometimes cited in defense of the mother's death. 

This was my problem with the finale, as well.  One of those kids should have said "You mean that you never really loved Mom?".   The only way the ending would have worked was for Ted to realize over time after Tracy's death that he loves Robin, his best (female) friend.  Otherwise, it just feels really skeevy.
