  1. The podcast was good. I'm really looking forward to the TV show. It looks like it's going to be somewhat comedic which will be fun for the viewers, but I cringe somewhat thinking how it must feel for real life people affected by the crimes, seeing the worst events in their lives turned into a comedic entertainment.

Oh well, I'll still watch. I hope the fatsuit isn't too distracting. (Real life Pam wasn't even particularly fat!)

I thought the last scene was really well done, both literally and metaphorically. It really demonstrated what a marvel the light bulb and the regulation of electricity was to people of that era, literally. And metaphorically, it showed how the dawning of a new era upended the old order.

I enjoyed it too and tried to imagine the wonder they felt. It reminded me of a documentary I saw a few years ago, where someone supplied a fairly isolated tribe in the Amazon with a generator and a few light bulbs, one per dwelling. No one on the tribe complained, they LOVED it. They explained how wonderful it was to be able to see after dark, to not sit in pitch blackness, or lit by some dim candle. It just made them feel safe and happy. It's so hard for us to fully appreciate what a gift electricity can be, but I thought they did a good job of it in this episode.

Honestly, this is the first episode I haven't hate-watched. Maybe I'm just used to everyone, but I was hardly annoyed at all.

There were some notable outfits as always. I loved Marian's dark pink (?) gown. Very flattering. The blue and gold one always reminds me of the Oscars. I can't focus on Bertha's gowns because I'm distracted by the various ways they're hiding her pregnancy.

Why does Mrs. Chamberlain always wear that horrible, fussy, dishwater coloured dress? I find lots of the dresses on the show are in awful, clashing colours, but no doubt it's historically accurate.

Turner is ridiculous. Who gets away with the stuff she does? Well, she's been sacked, so I guess even she can't get away with it all the time.

I love Bannister/Arthur Dent so I'm very happy he was inexplicably not fired.

Come on Gladys you have to be smarter then that. Your mother suddenly cares about you because she's been trying to get to Mrs Astor and you are friends with her daughter.

Judging by her face in the last scene, Gladys is well aware, and not happy about it.

The actress that plays Helen is really good, immediately engaging and sympathetic.

This is the first role I've seen her in where she has her real accent. She's done lots of US TV and after I saw her in a show where she played an American rapper, I was shocked to find out she was Australian.

We just finished the series. I tried to stretch it out but ended up watching it all in two days.

I loved all the surprises. I'm hoping there's a second season.

PS. I continue to be shocked by the number of people in these stories who hear of a murder plot and just shrug their shoulders.

Yes! Good point. I don't know much about American law, but does this make them an accessory? If I know my friend is trying to find someone to kill her husband, and I say "Oh well. Not my circus," can't I get in trouble?

I also love how she explained bringing her boyfriend with her because someone suggested she do that to "stay safe". Because that clearly worked out so well

I'd have to go back and relisten but wasn't she trying to say that after running away from the guy shooting at her husband, she then went to work and was surprised when her husband didn't pick the kids up? And was stunned later to discover him shot?

She's great at faking emotion, but the greatest actress in the world couldn't sell that storyline.

Or do I have it mixed up? It's all so ridiculous it's hard to keep it straight.

Final comment... wow, that was the cleanest, tidiest reptile warehouse I ever saw. It was impressive.

  6. I agree that by the end of the show she was obviously guilty, but I understand all the people who swore she didn't act like someone who was guilty. Listening to the 911 call, watching her body language in the first police interview, I would have been convinced she was innocent.

We've seen so many cases where the guilty person pretended to be innocent but I've never seen anyone who could fake innocent this well. No wonder some seasoned professionals were taken in.

It was only in the interview with Andrea that I could see how manipulative she was. The way she kept turning the questions back on Andrea, and the moments when her innocent mask slipped.

Finally, am I the only one who thinks she's the spitting image of Kiersten Dunst in her court scenes? If Kiersten doesn't play her in the reenactment I'm going to be very annoyed. ☺️

I don't care for the girl who was nominated and then won Veto, I can't seem to catch her name, Jace? or something similar, she is confrontational, jumping at Moose for using the word 'unfortunatly', really?

It's Jess. I don't think she/they will do well because they're so aggressive and like to interrogate people. No one likes that. I don't think they'll win even though they "manifested" it.

Noooo, I lost my namesake! 😢 And after the universe brought her there specifically to win! (Truthfully, I can't get behind all this manifesting and universe stuff. Too reminiscent of The Secret, which I have no time for.)

Imagine being in that house with a migraine. Even Arisa's suit was screaming. (Although she still looked great with her yellow heels.) The veto comp looked very cool though.

I know 6 year olds who know more than Stephanie. What's wrong with her? Is she pretending? Isn't she a youth counsellor?

I sort of like Kevin, not personally but as a game player. I think he could prove to be really fun to watch. He has layers.

Does anyone here have the live feeds? I'd get them but I already spend half my life on screens and I'm afraid to.

I'm annoyed by the perkiness of the cast every time BBCAN premieres.

Perkiness is putting it nicely. They're making half these people seem utterly horrifying... conceited, narcissistic, loud, mean. I can only hope that's mostly for the intros. The intros make most of them look like my worst nightmare.

Arissa looks very cute. I hated how they dressed her last season but she looks good. I've always appreciated her as a host, though, and she's so invested in the show.

Haleena seems nice though. So does Marty. Borderline normal. And obviously, given the name, I have to be partial to Melina.

I HATE the house visually. Other seasons I always preferred it to the US BB house, but this season it'd make the eyes fall out of your head. It's so loud it's hard to see the people.

But it's February in Canada, so obviously I'll keep watching. 😂

ETA I just saw RHAP and Melissa feels EXACTLY like me about the house this season, although she expressed it better than I did. I felt a little bit vindicated.

I feel like no matter how many channels and streaming services we get, the things I want to watch are always on something we don't have.

I liked him before but yeah, this past year has left a bad taste in my mouth for him but to each his own.

I'm with you. Before his scandal he was my absolute favourite comedian/performer. For reasons pertaining to my own life, the scandal surrounding his divorce bothered me so much I stopped watching him, and had to force myself to watch SNL tonight.

He was good as always, but to me he seemed quite changed, and I'm sure I'll never enjoy him again the way I used to. It's complicated, and as much to do with me as with him.

I'm glad I finally watched him though. It's like "Phew, I'm glad that's over." Now I can start watching him as just another performer with human flaws, not the idealized version I had of him. (It's funny because I'm usually so cynical about performers. His scandal for me was like lots of people would feel if they discovered Tom Hanks had a long, secret history of harassing young actresses on set.)

When they showed the tape of the police interviewing the daughter she looked thin to the point of skeletal.

It's true, and she was all twisted around. For someone who appeared to have no conscience, she certainly didn't look very carefree.

I too would love to hear some expert opinions about these two. I'll have to look it up. I don't think I've ever seen any two people who were quite like them. I thought I'd heard it all, but when I heard the youngest daughter was supposed to be the next target for... no discernable reason, I was gobsmacked. It's just so hard to believe.

Usually people are murdered for love or hate or money, but these murders seemed to have so little purpose. "You annoy me. I guess I'll kill you. Hmm, who else can we kill?"

They all seemed to have that dead eyed look with the flat tone

Yes! I was trying to think of a nice way to comment on how the wife and all the children shared the same... look. It's like, if you were casting a horror movie about this story, that's the look and affect you'd be going for. Then again, would you cast as the mother someone who so obviously had something wrong with her? How did she pass as normal for so much of her life?

To be fair, it seems like only the mother and one daughter shared the trait (gene?) of being psychopaths or whatever they were. It's hard to know.

Either way, this was a VERY disturbing story. It's reminiscent of the Lori Vallow story, except Lori was so pretty, social and bubbly. It's funny what a difference that makes in how the story is perceived by people, even though it absolutely shouldn't. I'm certain someone's working on a Netflix version of the Vallow story, whereas you'll probably never see this one fictionalized. If it is, they're guaranteed to pick two cute actresses to play the leads.

How sad for the two remaining daughters.

You know that if they'd somehow gotten away with it, killing four family members, they would have continued. Just basically offering beverages to anyone who got in their way or "annoyed" them. Chilling.

Unfortunately it seems to be a thing now to include scenes of someone using a toilet in way too many shows. This was mild compared to some. It’s unnecessary and gross

Yes! I guess we're supposed to think, "Wow! What an edgy, realistic show!" In reality, I just think, "Ewww. Not this again."

I don't watch people in my real life doing this, because I don't want to. I'm sick of having to see TV characters doing it. The shock value wore off a long time ago, and now it's just tiresome and adds nothing. (I'll bet the actresses don't love having to do it either.)

  14. It was unbearably awkward when Meisha looked around for someone to hug and everyone was ignoring her. There's a German word for that particular feeling that I learned on another thread recently and now forget. I'll have to look for it.

I said to Mr Melina that I hoped Meisha would win because she probably needed the money. He told me her net worth was 6 million dollars. So... never mind.

I'm sad the season ended on such a sour note. Oh well. I do think Meisha earned her win.

So it’s official now: Todrick has 100% Hantz’ed himself.

All the enjoyment has gone out of this season for me with this whole Todrick situation. Just all the unpleasantness and the possibility of ending up with a bitter jury and a final 2 nobody likes... it's the opposite of what I enjoy. Life is so stressful right now. I just want to watch people laugh and be silly.

I never thought I'd say it, but I wish it was a Chris Kattan /Lamar final two.

(Hey Todrick, you aren't nearly as famous as you think you are.  Only vaguely heard of you before this and won't follow you afterward.)

I'd only heard of him when the Cookout members stayed with him. But a couple of days ago I finally googled him, and he's been insanely busy for years, being in a million high level projects as a singer, dancer, co-host, judge, choreographer, etc. He's been all over the internet. I can't believe I'd literally never heard of him.

Now I understand someone's comment that he was mega-rich. Love him or hate him, he certainly is hard-working.
