It was hard to hear for me, too. I posted SNL's YouTube link to the performance and it's easier to hear; Willow simply said "Thank you," it sounds like to me.

Thanks for posting! I would never have guessed that was Willow. She looks great and has a great stage presence. I don't think she plays much guitar, or that she even has that great of a voice, but she's interesting to watch and I'm sure we'll see her again.

I never listen to CC but she does have a fantastic voice, and sure knows how to pick interesting people to share the stage with her. She doesn't seem afraid of sharing the spotlight.

As for the rest of the show, I enjoyed most of it, laughed a fair bit. Unlike the majority apparently, I really enjoy SNL's game show skits, and tonight was no exception. I thought the HGTV clip was really funny too. I tend to like any of the pretaped segments because it means people aren't forgetting their lines or reading off of cue cards.

That's Willow Smith on guitar with CC in the second song.

Wait, you mean the tall bald guitarist? Was that Willow? I wish I hadn't deleted it or I'd go back and rewatch.

CC's dancers in the first song!! I don't think I looked at CC more than twice, her dancers were so mesmerizing. How can people do this stuff with their bodies? I also can't believe I watched a whole music segment without FFing.

I spent an inordinate amount of time staring at that, too.  Unfortunate.

LOL, I kept noticing that, too :p. I wondered at first if it might be an effect of him being a smoker or something, and part of his moustache changed color because of that, but the redhead explanation makes sense, too.

    My people. 😁

When Tim was describing Linda he said "if she walked into the room right now she'd be the focal point."

Oh, and don't forget he said she'd light up a room! 😁

No, Tim. The focal point is that weird orange spot on your mustache. It looks like something was leaking out of his right nostril and staining it. I was grossed out for two hours.

I got over that once I figured he probably used to be a redhead, but was turning grey. But I never stopped fixating on how one side of his mustache was thicker than the other.

Yes, it takes a special kind of person to be a Dateline watcher. 😁

But that purse shot?  Pretty glorious.

That was unbelievable, and as noted, would seem completely ridiculous if included in a fictional crime drama.

I was fascinated by her face in that video and in particular in the bizarre way her mouth was moving. I have never seen a person do this. I disagree with the idea that her mouth was starting to quiver (I forget who said this.) That implies she was about to cry, but that's not at all what I saw. I'm guessing it was a physical reaction to intense emotion of some kind, but as I said, it's like nothing I've ever seen before in fiction or reality.

I just can't believe that shot even happened, and that she didn't delete it. To quote my usual Dateline cliches, truth is stranger than fiction, and you can't make this stuff up. (See also Pam Hupp.)

She’s like a bunny, a very noisy, excitable bunny. I don’t think anyone on her current tribe dislikes her.

I agree. I've had friends like Maryanne. Bubbly, chatty, always at 11. But if they're basically kind, good people, you enjoy knowing them, just maybe in small doses.

I think there must be times when having a loud, shiny, happy person on your tribe would be annoying, but it's got to be better than some of the surly, crabby people other tribes have been stuck with. At least they always know what she's thinking! (Whether they want to or not.)

Jonathon does have the patience of a saint.  I was dying last night at his facial expressions as the girls chattered on and on behind him.

This scene resonated so hard for me. I remember a group camping trip years ago, where as an introverted, non-morning person, I woke up to find a group of my fellow campers three feet from my tent, loudly laughing and talking and eating. I literally hid in my tent for 30 minutes, desperately hoping for them to leave and/or be quiet, but no. I wanted to kill everybody. 😁 These emotions were written all over Jonathan's face, with NO COFFEE OR BACON to take the edge off. I felt for him and greatly admired his self-restraint. Loud morning chatter is the very worst.

Maryann's getting worse, right?" Preach, Jonathan. PREACH.

I still really like Maryanne but I would never camp with her.

The host is totally wrong for this show.

Seriously! Who thought he was a good idea for this show?

I've never seen Eboni in anything else, but I find her so off-putting. So didactic and preachy. If this is her at her most charming in front of cameras, I don't think I'd want to be around her in private. (Also, she needs to look up the meaning of prolific.) But as I said, I don't know her at all, so maybe she's more enjoyable to know than she appears.

Conditions do seem to be legitimately unpleasant, especially at night, and I admire the way they're toughing it out, especially Paulina, but I'm feeling a bit manipulated by all the sad origin stories and the manufactured drama.

That last scene where Ray was crying about missing the most important parts of his children's lives to help others... was that really not scripted? I mean he's only missing, what? 5 days? It was a bit much. And everyone was chiming in with words of wisdom... that part of the episode felt fake to me, although Paulina's pain seemed all too real. Can't she get an Advil at least?

This post is way more negative than the ones I usually post. Maybe this isn't the show for me. 😁

  9. I really enjoyed tonight's episode. I don't remember another one where most of it was a replay of a previous episode, showing what happened behind the scenes. It sounds like it should have been boring, but for me it was fascinating.

I particularly enjoyed Kevin's machinations, and seeing how good his instincts are. It's fun to watch the way he manipulates people without appearing to, like how he never expresses strong opinions, deliberately looking sort of bland and undecided.

I couldn't believe how Marty blew up his own game due to his guilty conscience over lying. Interesting how Summer could read Haleena so well. Too bad no one appears to be able to read Kevin!

Cool HoH comp. It was fun to watch.

  10. I'm so happy Kevin is still there. Imagine the HGs shock when they discover what game he was really playing!

I forgot to mention it after the last episode, but did anyone else notice that when Summer is doing her "act" for Arisa when she's voting, acting crazy and complimenting Arisa, Arisa never laughs? I always expect her to but she never does. I get the feeling she's annoyed by Summer's antics.

Arisa does laugh at others antics though - I think Moose made her laugh. I wonder if Arisa finds Summer disrespectful.

I did not like the chain of safety. What an unfair way to evict someone.

It seemed unfair that Jess wasn't allowed to play in the bowling comp and therefore couldn't play for safety.

I must have missed the whole name thing because I didn’t know what T was talking about.

Same here. And T was very vindictive about it, like she really hated Jess. I felt like it came out of nowhere.
