I believe it was last season they showed Dayton practicing in front of her mom & Shelly pointed out that she was not coaching her, pointing out mistakes in choreography, etc. She was only giving her very general advice -- need more power, more pop, etc. She specifically said she would not do anything to give Dayton an advantage over the others.
I wonder if TPTB will oooh and aaah when she falls out of turns and doesn't maintain her line on game day.
what am I saying -- of course they will.
and they might wonder why they had <150 girls trying out this year. I would imagine that the word gets around when the "fix is in" and girls start wondering, "why bother?"

Shelly works for the organization and has to deal with these people day in and day out. Tina may be a friend but she isn't a very good one from what I have heard (Not talking to Kelli after the cut and not going to family night -- pretty petty -- but mother like daughter I suppose.)

I appreciate your diplomatic "fake stories', but let's call it what it is -- lying.
the fact that she is being rewarded now when others paid a greater price for far less is particularly irksome.

I would personally rather see a slightly weaker dancer who has much better CHARACTER make the team over any "better dancer" who has shown questionable character. The average Jane/Joe doesn't pick up on the dance details when they are watching a football game.
This team is supposed to be about more than just dancing....Give me an average dancer with great people skills and a good heart who is WELL SPOKEN and open minded to all types of people.
That would be "world class".
Agreed -- especially if the SG can be reserved for the better dancers (w/ notable exceptions of course).

A few months back, we were watching Live Aid..took us right back in time. We looked up the front man for Queen on this tour and found out it was Adam. YouTube had a clip of the James Corden show sing off with Adam and Queen. Adam came out dressed like George Michael. That was the deciding factor for us...we decided our old rock and roll brains couldn’t handle Queen without Freddie, with Adam singing, looking like George Michael.
But Queen is having a successful tour, and new generations are listening to their music.
Actually, he didn't win. It was a big shocker at the time. There was a story about how he is more successful than some winners.
I can watch him on his own but not with Queen - which is why I had a hard time watching the clip -- I love the squad and Queen -just not together.
Kind of the same reason I wish they would retire Thunderstruck -- AcDc and DCC just don't seem to match - choreography just doesn't seem to fit.

umm I didn't notice that -- there is a B/W scrimmage on August 4, 2019 -- I am not sure that I can see the squad appearing at that though.

The fact that these girls know that they may be filmed is no excuse for what amounts to insensitivity bordering on cruelty.
The girls sign up to audition not to be made fun of in a promo for the show.
The fact that you CAN do something, doesn't mean you SHOULD do it -- especially if being "world-class" means showing a little class.

The Melana cut was strange and neither CMT or Kelli (as producer) showed any "professionalism" when they cut the way they did or edited the show the way they did- and as far as that goes -- seems I recall Kelli saying that one girl had no personality, Kitty saying that dancers were a mess, gushing over some girls *coughVKcough* or tearing down others *coughWhitneycough* etc. etc., it's what provides fuel for the board.
