  2. I'm watching the Supersized episode, and those biscuits look delicious.

Her mother does say that she's at the end of her rope, and can't support Shakyia eating herself to death any longer, and that her daughter is an adult and she can't do anything but offer to diet with her.    Bonus scene was kind of pointless, and added nothing.

So, month 1-655 (she expected mid 500's).  The sister's pink top is a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen, I'm guessing sister didn't realize how stretchy that top was.  I had high hopes for her after this visit. Then, she never contacted Dr. Now in 5 months.

Month 7-Office finally contacts Shakyia, this is when she spins her story about being in hospice after her family threw her out.  Amazing how the headboard on the hospice bed, and the exterior of the hospice looks exactly like the extended stay hotel she stays in for the rest of the show.

Amazing her headboard and motel exterior are the same as her 'hospice' bed.  The bandage on her leg scares me.  Infection can be so bad.

Month 10-same motel, same decor, same headboard, and exterior is the same.

Month 11-same as month 7 through 10. This is where Dr. Now tells her not to move to Houston, and will set up her visit to the clinic in Charlotte. She might want to stick that bottle of Ranch dressing in the fridge.  Down to 643, so 12 lbs in a year.   Dr. Now lays it on the line about her lack of progress, and that she should have lost 300 lbs, not 12.   It's so sad seeing her final visit to the clinic for a weigh in Year 1 and month 1. She did lose 8 more lbs. but that's not even a decent effort.

    1 year and 4 months-Nothing changed.

She never did therapy, lost virtually no weight, and sabotaged her chance to change her life and health.    I really had hopes for her at the beginning, but Dr. Now can't help someone who won't help themselves.

The episode description just mentioned her mom bailing on her (which after hearing her back story wasn't surprising; she didn't sound like the most reliable parent), so I was surprised that everyone else seemed to as well. The exact wording was "she'll be in for a shock when her mom decides that caring for her is just too much." But we didn't even see that, just jumped to her being on her own in a hotel.

I knew it was going nowhere when they showed us the entire trip to Houston. Way too much time filled with that (not sure what time they started the trip, but it wasn't too long into the episode, and it was almost an hour in before they actually got there). They obviously didn't have much else to use.

I will assume someone else will watch and post if there is anything worth sharing. (I don't watch the supersize episodes, anyway. I have better things to watch on Thursday.)

I'm going to watch the Supersized edition tonight.    Not much else on Thursday nights.   Hoping there are bonus scenes that explain a few things.

  4. I looked online, and there are six homes in the Milwaukee Burnham Block, they require reservations for tours, and some are tenant occupied.  So, they're not just empty and a museum site.   I wondered if they were empty too, but most aren't.

Boom Crash the Sound of My Car"”

    New, Season 10, Episode

    (Chris Vivar vs. Erin Ward)

From the show site: A retail employee claims he lost his job because Uber consistently made him late, and it's the defendant's fault for hitting and totaling his car. She denies responsibility, saying she was the victim of a hit-and-run; and besides, it's not her fault he failed to leave earlier for work.

Plaintiff suing defendant for making him late for work, getting him fired, and car damages.  Plaintiff's car was parked, when defendant ran into the car, and defendant's insurance paid him $5,000.   He's suing for $1900 more.

Police report says defendant caused the accident, and was suspected of being impaired.      Defendant claims another driver clipped the rear driver's side back quarter panel, that caused her to spin out, and she hit the plaintiff's car. Defendant was put in cuffs, and driven away, and claims she was released after a breathalyzer, and blood test, and no results were released.  Police report doesn't mention anything about another car hitting defendant's car.

Police reports said there were no skid marks from defendant either.

Plaintiff says he only found out the insurance company for defendant from the police report.

Insurance release is only for car damages, nothing else.  Defendant didn't bring any photos showing the damages on her car from the other vehicle showing red paint.  Defendant also throws in that her dog died three weeks after the accident.   Defendant's car was totaled.

Defendant's boyfriend, Chris Simmons, claims they couldn't take pictures of the cars.

(I would give plaintiff everything he asked for.  Defendant has a lot of testimony about the accident, but no witnesses who saw the accident, or any photos of her car showing damages from the phantom hit and run driver either.

Plaintiff receives $600 for towing and storage fees for his car.

  6. She did mention a job a few times.   Some of the extended stay places are no more expensive than an apartment, just usually smaller, but have some nice amenities included.

  7. I didn't have a clue how the chefs would develop a dish that met the challenge.   I was happy to see how weel almost all of the teams cooperated.   I was shocked at the Alisha and Kaleena lack of communication.

  8. The camera crew showed the truth.  "Hospice" was the same exterior as the extended stay, and the bedroom was the same.   I find it bizarre that her sister, and friend dumped her so abruptly too.    Not surprised the mother did, she did that repeatedly before.    I'm afraid Dr. Now is right, she won't make 30.

  9. I was so disappointed, Shakyia needed to change, and Dr. Now helped her as much as he could, but she just wouldn't do her part.   She needed therapy so much, but never would do that either.    She could have been such a success.

"Working to save up money" to move to Houston. Working at what?

She did mention a job a few times, but I don't know what.  Maybe they'll show something interesting in the bonus scenes in tomorrow's Supersized edition?

  11. Year 1, and 1 month, another local clinic weigh in.

Weight- 635 lbs., so she lost 8 lbs this time.   Dr. Now is telling the truth, but she won't believe it.      She doesn't want to cooperate on therapy, and I think Dr. Now knows that.

I'm so sad for her.   I thought she was determined, but she doesn't want therapy, or really lose weight.  20 lbs. down in over a year isn't a real attempt.

    Dr. Now looks so sad.

1 year and 4 months-still at the extended stay. She says she's working hard, and still planning to move to Houston.   She's not doing therapy either.     She could have changed and improved so much at her young age.   I'm so sad for her.

    How is she getting food?

    Food delivery I bet.

Month 11-Still at the extended stay.

Dr. Now's right, that's the same hotel exterior it showed when she was in 'hospice'.   So, she's lying to herself, and to Dr. Now.  Does she think he doesn't realize that?

  13. Month 9-She's still kicked out by the mother.  I still don't understand the hospice.

That meal looks yummy, but she should be going for the chicken, not the rice.  Her lymphedema looks so infected.

  14. Month 7 telemedicine visit with Dr. Now.  She had respiratory failure, and was on a vent, and couldn't walk.   I'm devastated for her.

Why is she in hospice?   Isn't that for terminal?   I can see sending her to a rehab, but why hospice?    I'm not liking her mother, abandoning her again.

  15. Her nephew is getting overweight, and that worries me.

She doesn't need to have another lame lettuce and chicken salad.  Add tomato, cucumber, and other veggies.

    Month 1-655

Month 6-phone call with Dr. Now.  Oh no!  No contact with Shakyia.  I'm worried for her.

I'm sorry, but that pink one-shoulder, no-bra look sister is wearing is just a no. (Sister's the one with the red hair, right?) And the crop top on Friend isn't any better.

Damn, should have gone with 642 ...at least I would have been closer.

I was worried about the pink top slipping.    Some knits are a little too easy to stretch out.

Dr. Now is telling her the honest truth, and I'm praying she'll listen and change.

  17. Her breathing is so labored.  I'm worried about her.  Sorry, but a bunch of salty snacks will only make her issues worse.   I hope she's really determined to embrace the diet.

That chicken was a great price, and looks yummy, so does the Texas Toast. Welcome to Texas, unfortunately home of WhataBurger.

She's a junk food junkie (from the song) but she's trying.   She's obviously in so much pain, but she's still hanging in there.

    Month 1-655 (she expected mid-500's).

The name of the supermarket is Garbage Foods? Sounds about right.

Actually, it's Compare Foods, but they certainly have a lot of high calorie low nutrition offerings.  The big stores don't allow filming any longer, so the producers have to find a store that will let them film.

She's had a rotten life, and I'm hoping she follows the program, gets the surgery, and Dr. Now can remove that horribly painful, and dangerous lymphedema.

Getting snaks lined up for the drive to Houston isn't on the Dr. Now plan.    Her family seems supportive, and so is her friend.   A three row SUV was a great idea.

This trek to Dr. Now's is going to be rough.

5 hours on the first day was a great start.   However, the Stagecoach Cafe looks like a fun place.   Another one that thinks the camera crew isn't attracting attention.

  19. They're showing Shakyia's Supersized episode tomorrow night from 7 to 9 p.m. Central (they've been cutting some from the original episode to put in bonus scenes, so I enjoy watching both).

Shakyia Jackson, Charlotte NC, Age 26.   Charlotte is almost 16 hours to Houston.   She's really mobile.   Asthma and her breathing scares me for her.   She lives with stepdad, her mom, their three kids.   She does her own cooking.  She was always overweight even as a toddler.  She was in foster care in second grade, for a few weeks until dad took custody.  Father was awful, and back to foster care.  Then, back to mom's.

200 lbs by age 11. Bullied in school.     Mother isn't small, but not this big.   Sexually active at 13, comfort easting because of the rejection and bullying.  Clost to 400 lbs by high school grauation.  College gain was a lot.

She has bad lymphedema on her leg.   My heart is breaking for her.  Bullied, abandoned multiple times by parents, health problems.  That lymphedema looks so painful.  She seems self-aware of her problems, I hope she's another Rose or Delana, or Krystal and a success.

  20. I'm guessing just like the Welcome Inn series, we've been seeing a six episode advertisement for the Italian villa whole house rental.

There's no way they can do bed and breakfast or individual room rental.   I wonder how they'll combine renting the house, and the cheese business, and the massive amount of maintenance the livestock, cheese and the property will take.   How much can that villa rent for, when the remodel was over 500,000 Euros, plus furnishings, and purchase price?

This is the show for 17 April. Sorry for the confusion.

    Damn! She Abandoned the Van

    New, Season 10, Episode

(Laura Paolone vs. Taylor Ann Kelly )

From the show site: A woman agreed to sell her niece a van if she paid to replace the power steering pump. The niece paid for the part and agreed to a payment plan for the purchase. But when the van left her family stranded at a hotel, she left it there and walked back on the deal. Did the aunt sell her an unsafe vehicle on purpose?

Plaintiff/aunt and vehicle seller suing defendant/niece and vehicle buyer deadbeat, for the remaining amount of the purchase price of the van niece was buying from aunt.  Aunt says the van needed a power steering pump, and sold van to niece for $2700, after replacing the power steering pump.   Then, niece knew about the defect and that it was fixed, so niece took the van, when it broke down the niece abandoned the van, and refuses to pay any more on it. Van is a 2007 Kia Sedona.

Aunt says she never would have sent her son on the 6-hour van trip with defendant if she knew the van was unreliable.  Niece claims van steering column came apart twice.

Defendant witness is niece's mother, who claims plaintifff knew about all of the issues, and was willing to endanger her own child by sending him on the trip with defendant.   Witness says palintiff was desperate to sell the van, so lied about the condition.

Niece just abandoned the van, and Motel 6 had the abandoned van towed, and it costs over $2,000 for towning and storage, and the towing company went out of business, so the other company that now has the van will auction it off soon unless it's bailed out of impound.

Defendant claims she had issues with the van, but still drove it on the long trip.

Plaintiff gave defendant the option to give the van back right after the sale, but defendant refused.

Juarez says if van was available, she would unwind the sale, but since van is in impound that's not going to happen. Tewolde says give plaintiff Blue Book, Corriero says $2000.

So, plaintiff gets $2,000, and van is gone.
