Is [Meghan] cognizant
No.

That would be the actual, real reporters; even if this show is under the news division, neither talking heads, pundits, ignorant hosts such as yourself, or commentators fall under that group. So shut your pie hole.
Omg, did she call herself a member of the Fourth Estate? Dude, if you're wearing glitter in your part, you're not a serious journalist.

Barbara Smith, one of the foremothers of black feminist thought and one of the women who coined the term "identity politics" in the 1970s, tweeted at Meghan to provide her with some context about identity politics and let her know that she is using the term incorrectly. This is essentially the equivalent of God coming down from Heaven to let a Christian know that he's interpreting the Bible incorrectly.

I swore off this show for a couple of months. For some reason I tuned in today just in time to educate me about Martin Luther King and identity politics. Back to swearing it off. Thanks, Meghan! Someone convince her she's overqualified and maybe she will voluntarily take her genius elsewhere.
Just once I wish someone on the panel would point out that Meghan's affinities for guns, military service, America, jello shots, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, her father, whiskey, shootin', etc. constitute their own form of identity politics. And a disingenuous form of identity politics at that, because, as we all know, Meghan is a coastal elite who happened to have spent part of her life in Arizona.

I haven't been able to watch today's episode, but if the clip above is what I have to look forward to, LOL.

This is a subject that comes up annually on Geisel's birthday. It's Seuss Enterprises that decided to quit publication. They have the right to do whatever they want with the material. Tink is right, there is no banning or censoring involved.
With the preview of today's show I realized I do know who the Williams twins are. We've all seen that video of them listening to Phil Collins.
Oh man, I love them!

I have noticed but I have always assumed that she had an accent growing up and probably took elocution classes to mask it.
That's an interesting point. I have noticed that her accent comes out at certain times. You can hear it in the way she says "more" in this clip. I don't think her accent is a bad thing, but I can understand why she'd want to have a more neutral accent since she works on TV.

SO Meganutz is a huge fan of the 'Real Housewives' series - especially Atlanta. That could explain her cattiness on the show and sniping with Joy and Sunny - she forgets she's on 'The View' and thinks she's part of the 'Real Housewives' cast.
I don't know a ton about the Real Housewives franchise, but I'm guessing that any cast member on any spin-off of the show could eat Meghan alive without breaking a sweat.

I am going to lose my mind. This woman is such a stupid asshole, my god.

LGBTQ+ ally Meghan McCain once again shows her ignorance by putting down Dr. Fauci, a man who worked tirelessly with AIDS activists to explore new drug treatments in the 80s and 90s and is still friends with many of them today.

I very often miss that earlier version of The View, although I could not imagine how it would be with Meghan as a co-host. She doesn't seem to have any other interests besides politics, Real Housewives and an increasingly unfathomable fascination with really, really, really bad eye makeup.
I wonder how much input the cohosts have when it comes to their styling. Like, all the other women have tasteful makeup on and then there's Meghan, who I guess tells the makeup staff to give her the Child Beauty Pageant Contestant every morning. It stands out.

Meghan has a lot of nerve to sit there smugly calling abortion murder in front of a woman (Whoopi) who had a coat-hanger abortion when she was 14 years old. While implying that women make these choices for frivolous reasons. Just days after she and her healthy, smiling baby did a spread in People magazine.

No mention of Fran Lebowitz's appearance?
It was pretty blah, I thought. Whoopi started off with a really stupid question and it kind of went from there. They seemed to take a beat too long to recognize when she was making a joke.

Fran doesn't fare that well on panel shows, she's polite, she doesn't talk over anyone. She's way better in a one-on-one situation. This might not be the best venue for her. I'll just watch an episode of Pretend It's A City again.
I've seen clips of her on Bill Maher's show and she seems to do okay there, but I can see her having problems on The View because it's a much more frivolous show, despite how it's marketed and how Meghan portrays it. I'm just happy to see her.

I adore Fran Lebowitz!! I wonder if this is her first time on The View.

Meghan looks like a linebacker with a tiny little pez head. I guess I missed all the shows that Meghan was actively fighting antisemitism.
You don't remember the episode where she fake-cried about anti-Semitism because Joe Lieberman is a family friend? It was after she pretended that Ilhan Omar's comments about Israel, which the House condemned, were as bad as the racist rally in Charlottesville.

It's always about money. If Meghan thinks ideology trumps (no pun intended) money she is even dumber than I thought.
Of course Meghan downplays the importance of money. She was born rich and has never had to think about money for even one second of her entire life.

Poverty doesn't excuse racism....I'm glad Sunny said that, because Meghan saying that was such a white privilege thing to say.
I'm glad I read your post before watching the episode, because if I had heard Meghan say this without being prepared for it, I would have had an aneurysm.

Yeah, for sure. Tech bros are nowhere near as cool as *checks notes* political analysts who appear on daytime television. 🙄

I don't really follow Ken Jennings, but from what I understand he's been getting a lot of flack about past tweets. I think it's because he's a possible replacement for Alex Trebek on Jeopardy.

The View: Week of 4/5/2021
in The View
I can't believe no one called out Meghan for saying that Republicans hate big government and love privacy, and then cited the Patriot Act as an example of something Republicans are against. Um, a Republican president signed that act into law, with almost unanimous Republican support. There's no way she doesn't know this.
