    9. People have their morals and points of view, but when I see a child like Dougie.  A father in prison, a mother on drugs, I just wish they had made some sort of responsible decisions about giving him up for adoption or just using some method of birth control.  He seems like a fairly sweet child, but how does that not effect a child.  And now his jailbird dad is going to come out of prison with all sorts of rules and regulations.  Ugh.

I felt so bad for that kid.  His father gives off abuse vibes, just the way he was ordering (oops I mean "flexing") her on the phone shows he thinks he's always right an his word is law.  I don't think it's "cute". I think it's sad that that's the kind of man she wants to be with and really wish that poor boy had some better  living options because I fear it's not going to end well for him.  Hopefully I'm very wrong.

This is episode ELEVEN?  Have eleven things even happened all season?

I have no idea.  I'm either fast forwarding through drunk make outs or nodding off.  The dolphins were nice that's about all I remember.

We finally get to see the dock smashing scene we've been teased with all season.  Hopefully it's not the last 30 seconds of the episode.

  3. I saw this on Reddit on the MBFFL forum.   I thought it was very interesting and honestly I'm not the least bit surprised:

Any other current NoBSActive members here that have grown frustrated with the programming? (I’m not here for fat shaming or bitching about Whitney’s modifications, there are legit reasons why people need those, and the point is to not shame people who are trying. If you’re not a member, I’m not trying to hear your opinion on something you’re not actively participating in.) I’m talking about Whitney missing what feels like at least 25% of the workouts, dropping the walking challenge when she feels like it, Jessica doing stretching as one of the workouts even when people complained, poor sound quality, and Whitney constantly teasing some secret project we’re all supposed to be excited about but seemingly is never going to be announced. Anyone feel my pain??

I will say this - I enjoy Jessica’s workouts and her personality. I’ve done the workouts consistently since the reboot in October and gained a lot of strength, though it’s not enough of a workout on its own and I’m always supplementing with other cardio. At first I felt really supportive of Whitney but as time goes on you can really see how not committed she is and how she really just won’t follow through if she’s not in the mood, even to promises she came up with herself. I even get annoyed with her constant yammering and trying to give instruction when she’s clearly not the fitness expert. If she’s in a bad mood she won’t try to hide it. The time she came the most alive is when TLC cameras were there filming the workout for the show - she acted like she was the trainer for those cameras, but the rest of the time for those of us actually paying for it? She really doesn’t give a shit. I’m still here just for Jess & hoping one day she’ll branch out on her own - I would definitely follow her.

The thing is - there are over 2000 in the group, which is over 40k/month for something they have almost zero overhead to produce. There’s also way less engagement if you look at how many views on the videos (a few hundred or less) and Facebook interaction (very controlled environment and you better not say anything that’s not blowing sunshine up Whitney’s ass or she’ll boot you.) They don’t listen to feedback they don’t want to hear. Can they not buy a ring light or phone stand so the camera isn’t always falling over? Or use the one in the cluttered background? And really - Why tf can’t Whitney show up every damn time again?? Like the rest of us do at our actual jobs? That’s what really gets me.

The suspension of disbelief in this show is wonky a bit. The beginning in Gordon's office "Come up with a comfort food dish and make 40 servings" Cut to vote ballots describing these dishes.

Also at the end, all the tension of "who'll make it to the finals?" Gee, there were 3 TVs right there...

Good point about the ballots, I didn't catch that.  But I did notice the 3 screens before Gordon made his decision.

I always wonder about these getting them out of bed and rushing them to do a challenge scenarios.  Do they get to go to the bathroom first?  I'd need some coffee before I could rush around and cook for 40 people.

I'm having trouble staying awake this season, and last night was particularly boring. I couldn't care a whit about any of these crew members.

Same here.  I ended up recording it and fast forwarding through most of the drunk  scenes.  Watching them and the guests slugging back shots makes me queasy and I don't find it entertaining.

Natasha sucks.  Rachel (BD) is nuts but she could run laps around Natasha in the kitchen.  She seems kind of lazy, like with the cotton candy machine.  They sell those for kids they're not that hard to use!  She just didn't want to do it because it would take a lot of time.  She should have tried it first before promising it to the guests.

I know when we applied to be on the show and they contacted us with the filming dates (which ended up not working for us because my daughter was starting college and we couldn't defer her for this) they did tell us where we would be competing.

How interesting.  Are you still in the food business now?

  7. This season was such a bad idea.  I can't believe Tyler was bitching to the contestants that they're food was cold.  They're working and serving food in what is basically a large deep freeze, you'd think they would cut them some slack.  I'm amazed they're functioning as well as they are in those conditions.   It's too bad they have to serve their food in those little paper trays, it would be good if they could serve it in something with a lid that could hold in the heat.

He’s shown up on at least one other show (Bar Rescue) as an “expert”

Funny you should mention this, I just saw him on an episode of Bar Rescue the other day.  He's not someone I ever thought of as an "expert" but there you go.

It annoys me that the tater tot truck keeps advancing when they are clearly using frozen tots.  Also, it seemed odd to me that they just happened to have a large supply of noodles on hand when they were tasked with a special dish.  I can't even imagine a dish that uses both tater tots and noodles so I don't get why they would have had them.  There was something else in that noodle dish I had the same thought about but I can't remember what it was now.

I like the BFD crew.  I'm glad they made it through.

The tater tot people selling frozen tots is bull, and you're right, it was odd that they all of a sudden made a pasta dish.  You'd think they would have incorporated the salmon with their signature ingredient, but they don't seem to be that creative.

I noticed BFD makes their own waffles from scratch, they're not selling frozen waffles.  Maybe that's why they keep winning.

And sharing a cabin with old flame, new flame, I could not figure out who was who and who belonged to who, kid wise and adult wise. They kept flashing a second of the girl, who is her parent? Do the kids ever speak?

I was totally confused too.  I felt bad for the daughter being the only girl, I hope she got her own room.  And those boys acted like they don't speak unless they're spoken too.  I get the feeling they're very controlled.

I just ffd through the drunken make out with the crew.  I couldn't believe that Sydney jumped into Gary's bed.  Is she that desperate and insecure?  Or is she just incredibly stupid?  Have a little self respect.

This episode was pretty boring, hopefully it gets better.

    I can’t stand Mary Lou’s purple wig.

I hate it too. It looks really cheap and ratty.  Hopefully she sees how bad it looks on tv and looses it.

It was Jordan's time to go, I felt kind of bad for her when she was talking about her mom going to jail that has to be really hard.

I'm glad people have been able to walk off the slip and falls. I hope we don't get a serious injury.

Just watching them trying to function in that weather is giving me stress. That one guy from the team that went home slipped  and hit his head on the ground that's no joke.  This season seems to be more about "how difficult can we make this" rather than the quality of the food.
