  1. I have a long-time friend who would've gotten the Bangkok song in a heartbeat. There was a time in her life she was obsessed with the original cast album of "Chess" - where the song is from. She played the CD incessantly.  Unfortunately, she was campaign manager for a city commissioner seat and I was a volunteer on the campaign. ALL the campaign workers were subjected to Wendy's obsession. LOL.

Yes! I could see Robert Urich’s face - and damn, he was in everything!

My late mom liked him. He did an Excedrin commercial where he referred to a really bad headache as a "bangeroo."  So when Mom couldn't remember his name, she just called him Bangeroo, which we did until the end of his life.

I will take whatever alcoholic beverage goes best with fuzzy ravioli. 🍸

    Obviously, a  Fuzzy Navel.  LOL

Thank you for Jules Verne - I got ONE this week. Corn Dogs for all...

(I used to work with a woman who gossiped a lot. Talking about one of our co-workers, Linda said, "She thinks she's shit on a stick."  I asked her if that was anything like a corn dog.)

Admittedly, the more I read, the more confused I got.  There was some flip/flopping regarding which season was being discussed, so I'll just chill for now.

I felt the same way, but decided the info was important enough to share.

17x08, Cottage in the Woods - Enjoyed this one as well, but I like any episodes that feature all the women characters. I remember really loving when Violet, Louise, Effie, and Julia were on that volleyball team together. The four of them just have a fun rapport. This one had Friday the 13th vibes, what with the creepy campers and the "madman" running around.

This one just showed up on Acorn. Watching the ladies out in the woods, I was glad Margaret wasn't with them, but, oddly, I found myself missing Ruth.  I enjoyed it anyway.  But mostly, I miss George.

  6. One  - the Wardrobe on Monday and it was downhill from there.

Shapeshifter, I love your 4 zeros on the cake. I want some.

I live in Metro Atlanta and I felt that Virginia quake in 2011. It just a small lurch in the pit of my stomach and I sort of felt dizzy. I think that if I had been doing something, I would not have noticed, but I had just sat down to lunch and was sitting there, willing the food not to be SO freakin' hot so I could start to eat. LOL

The thing that bugs me most about the Jardiance commercial set in an office is the placement of the unplugged photocopier. It’s in the middle of the floor! Why not move it closer together damn wall?!

Because it's always jamming or something and they always need to move it out to open the back?

The clue itself said "John Quincy Adams." He would have been 15 years old at the time, the right age for that kind of snark.

Well, that should teach me not to play on the internet while watching J!

Thanks for the correction. I'm no longer disappointed. LOL.

the average people they show that have used it and they show the before and after, they look very little different to me.  especially the one old woman who looks in the mirror and can't believe it's her.  yeah, right.........

I think they took people who look like 30 miles of bad road, treated them with Plexaderm, and now they look like 25 miles of bad road.

they all stood around (allegedly) excitedly shouting out the time as it did its thing?

Screaming. "We were screaming!"  Well, y'know, this is the Real Deal.

But Colby, I had thought he was generally disliked - I remember not liking him during his original appearances.

I did not like him. Still don't. I think he's smug.  Oh, he's probably a nice guy IRL; I just don't like him on J!

As far as I am concerned Jeopardy can have Ken say JIT as much as he wants.

When I hear "JIT," I hear it as half a word, the first half being "ID."

It's stupid and completely unfunny, so definitely an April Fools joke.

What rock have you been living under - stupid and unfunny is EXACTLY how these endless tournaments have been.  ;-)

  12. Wasn't Neville flying to Dominica?  This is IMDB's blurb for episode 8 (last of the season)

    "S13.E8 ∙ Episode #13.8

It's the team's most confounding puzzle yet when a passenger disappears from a flight to Dominica, only to be found back in Saint Marie -murdered."

This better not be a repeat of the Richard Poole thing... Grrrrr.

  13. Obviously, "mesonoxian = pertaining to..." MESONOXIA!  Duh.

ETA: At the first commercial break, we got a blue screen with 11ALIVE in big letters with "Technical Difficulties" beneath.  Last time I checked, they were still off the air. I'm watching Rawhide on PlutoTV, but I did check thejeopardyfan for tonight's FJ.

Heh...you guys posted this and then a little while later YouTube served me up a video of someone reacting to hearing the song for the first time.

I couldn't get through it. It's nice that she's not afraid to expose her ignorance, but, jeez, she doesn't know what a gale is?

And in another instance of synchronicity, today's Mini Crossword in the NYTimes had "ROSETTA" as an answer. LOL.

    Matt still annoys me.
