  1. Show: Okay, 'Cameron buys the pot from the dealer, bakes the brownies, but before he  can get them to Oscar, Franco takes and eats them, and he gets goofier than usual.' Done! Now to film it....

ABCD: Hey, we don't want to show underaged kids buying pot, or pot brownies, so you're gonna have to rewrite it...

Show: Ew.... okay, then Cameron can tell the dealer that the deal is off....

ABCD: Oh, we want Cameron to have consequences for his actions, so he's going to be forced to buy the pot from the dealer, then get busted.

    Show: *sighhhhhh*

This is the only show where the response from the 'heroes' to two elderly people with Alzheimer's are lost isn't Silver Alert, but "DON'T CALL THE COPS!"

Uh, hey Lulu and Laura, you're supposed to withhold things like ice cream and heaping praise when a child misbehaves not shower them with it. I get they were pleased she did the right thing but sheesh. I can't tell if Charlotte was legitimately apologizing or parroting what Lulu told her to Aiden, I guess we'll see.

I'm more in line with this than Nina interrupting everyone to tell how empowered Charlotte is and it's all Aiden's fault, and THEN give Charlotte ice cream. All things considered, even if Charlotte is just going through the motions, I'll but it for now.

One thing about Aiden that we're speculating: Aiden is high-functioning autistic, and his monotone and non-reaction to Charlotte's apology is giving us indication. It's interesting, but if Show is going there, hopefully Show won't fuck it up.

Having just put my mother in a nursing home in January and watching her with her dementia, let me just say that if I walked in and some guy was macking on her like Mike is with Yvonne, I would be as pissed as Marcus is.  The show seems to be playing this like CarSon are right in letting MIke's relationship continue but no, not good.  Also, there are hoops and whatnot to go through to get in and out of my mother's nursing home, so no way MIke and Yvonne could just leave.

Even forwarding through the JaSam crap, it took forever for us to get through this episode at Haus Nutmeg because of us stopping the DVR and talking about our respective experiences with our parents with Alzheimers. The consensus is that Marcus should be further along in accepting that the Yvonne he knew is slipping away, and soon, he will be taking care of an entity that looks like his wife, but isn't his wife.

Carly and Sonny have been more accepting and adaptable to Mike's situation (Marcus is still trying to tell Yvonne that she's his wife, rather than working in whatever reality she's in, like Sonny). What pisses us off is that it should be Stella and the other at the nursing home to counsel Marcus, and not Sonny/Carly. Also, they do need to have more orderlies to watch over and step in, and it's not Sonny's job to so. It's also pissing us off they shoehorned the Croyton subplot into Mike's storyline to make it all about Sonny, and to make Mike more aware and lucid at times than he should be, all to benefit Sonny.

Hopefully, Marcus' need for counseling opens an opportunity for Dr. Andre to return, because he's one person who can relate to Marcus directly. Maybe with Drew in possession of the USB, it's in the future.

And the whole, 'were not going to let anyone break them up so that Mike can be happy in his last days' was total nonsense.  She's someone else's wife for the love of pete.  Also, I'm thinking staff should be discouraging that budding relationship as well.

Show has been getting the good hand-me-down plot points from Greys Anatomy, (two patients, one benefits while the other deteriorating to oblivion, forgetting the spouse), but because of Sonny and Carly and Mike's happiness, hey, Marcus, sucks to be you.

Nina needs to be ballgagged and shipped to a Swiss clinic. Nothing they say will change her mind that Charlotte is perfect and Valentine just wants to bone her. Way to go, Poppa!

  5. TFGH has been delving into interesting plotlines that Show doesn't have the finesse to complete, first with Oscar (Can a teen refuse questionable treatment for Quality of Life?) and now with Drew (You can have your full memories except the last five years, or the last five years plus someone else's memories). If they were done on "The Good Doctor" or "Black Mirror", I would suspect they would be more thoughprovoking.

I will be happily surprised if the Drew Memory Situation is completed to "Black Mirror" levels.

did anyone else find it odd that Carly and Sonny showed up after the mass? What was the point of that? Was it just so Sonny could pontificate to God about Kiki? (was Mo jealous of MW's Big. Scenes. and demand one of his own?)

It was a memorial service (with casket), not a Mass, and Show usually calls God (now with his own show on CBS) to have God/Sonny scenes.

Even though Sonny and Carly made Kiki's death all about Morgan, at least they kept quiet until after the service.

  6. UO: I liked Franco's eulogy. It was.... deja vu.

Did Griffin say something? I tuned out when he said "his faith was taken from him".

    Yay for suspicious Scotty!

Yay for Carly and Sonny sitting in the back and STFU. Also yay for Nina for staying quiet.

I like MW without raccoon eyes.

Yay for Michael and the Jeromes coming together for Avery. Again.... deja vu.

Will Carly kick Ava when she's down?

You guys, the next "Avengers" movie is about Helena's ENDGAME lab under the hospital!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ;)

Too bad Disney didn't tell ABCD the title, or else they could have worked in Ryan wearing a glove and snapping his fingers.

We'd lose half the cast, but with our luck, Carson, Jasam, and Nina would survive.

So Daisy is the one who is putting the screws to Sam?

I am unusually intrigued. I know she will ultimately fail because of Sonny/Carly/Jason, but I'm wondering the angle.

Show will say Holistic Bad Medicine Good, but positive thoughts can't hurt.

I'm wondering if the cult is targeting Kristina specifically.

  9. I understand how disappointed people were that we wouldn't see any other YS characters other than Sheldon, George, and Georgie, but in the context of the episode, it wouldn't make sense to add any other characters the way the plot was presented in the show.

I'm satisfied the way the show addressed the Russian paper disproving the Shammy Theory, but it was maddening we had to wait three weeks to find out.

Wonderful reaction Sheldon had to his dad's speech.

I'm sorry, but I cringed all throughout the Howard magician subplot, as soon as Howard said he wasn't interested in reapplying. Bernie went into full Stage Mom Mode, and I mentally FF'd, Even the last scene at the Castle with the Rolex, I could see coming a mile away.

Yes, Leonard's mom is the mom that Sheldon never had, and Sheldon is the son she never had. We get it.

Morgan's headstone put a birth year before I was (re)watching the show with NutmegsMom, and before we even met.

  11. Lost in the preemption was Dr. Kim having a very nice moment with Julian, apologizing for being a Slagbeast and getting upset he didn't get back into the mob (after all those times she held him at arm's length that every comment he made meant he was going back into the mob).

Sasha wants to high-tail it out of there, but Valentin is cop-blocking and lawyer-blocking her from leaving. Look for her to be the next Ryan victim.

Just when I thought Carly and Sonny couldn't get any more obnoxious, they had to make Kiki's death all about Morgan.

It's a very, very sad state of affairs that I gave them credit for not bashing Ava as a horrible person after hearing about Kiki's death.

  13. Assuming that Lauren is an Ex-Kiki, this is going to be devastating for Ava, as the closest she'll be able to grieve for her daughter will be on the Canadian side of the border. Every single person she interacts with will give a mini-diatribe about how awful she is, and she has no right to be in the same Zip Code as the funeral services.

I give the over/under of interactions at 10.

Tamara Braun has gone on record saying she doesn’t understand why Kim kept Oscar’s illness from him, and I imagine the rest of the story has to be pretty WTF for her. The whole thing is dumb, but she’s selling it, IMO.

I was going to post a simple "Dr. Kim, GFY", especially after today with Julian, but I have a feeling TB beat me to it.

  15. So much to love about the 2000 episode. I'll just add that pre-botox MB playing a Sonny that was only The Most Powerful Mobster This Side of Spoon Island with SJB!Carly was not watchable, it was fun. And AJ saved the day with the pizza.

So many dead characters, so many deceased actors, and when Michael was the only spawn.

Compared to 2017 (which redeemed itself with the wonderful filling of the Q Mansion at the end), and 2016 (when oh poor lonely Sonny which we all thought he killed Morgan, for a moment....), which we binged as well.

Well, I won't see today's episode until tomorrow.  Here in NYC the wonderful Mayor has taken 45 minutes to explain why 6 inches of snow paralyzed the whole damn city yesterday.

The snow storm is Ava's fault, because she killed Morgan, and Nina is outraged at the mayor, because the storm reminds her of Elsa from Frozen, who is a strong feminist role model.

  17. The Missus had another theory about Howard translating the Russian paper.

He purposely mistranslated it to torpedo Sheldon's theory.

Unfortunately, it's also Amy's theory, and the writers wouldn't be cruel enough to suggest Howard would go that low.....

    .....would they?

John’s amazing ability to catch things was totally a missed opportunity that he never became a hockey goalie. He’d have been great. If he’s lived in Texas his whole life, it totally makes sense, as there aren’t a whole lot of opportunities to play hockey.

Unfortunately, he was too late for the Houston Aeros.

Has it reached the point where the writers just hate these characters and want to make them suffer? Sure seems like it --

Howard went into freaking SPACE. He's a fucking ISS Astronaut, and the writers use it as a punchline.

    11 hours ago, shapeshifter said:

I thought Howard would've learned Russian from his grandparents--not that I learned it from mine, but that's a whole other story.

When he trained with the Russians for the ISS, he may have picked it up from that.

I was hoping that Howard misinterpreted the information.  I guess that would be a stretch to get that much of it wrong though.  Still, I would've have tried to find another professor in their college that might be fluent in Russian (or know of someone who is) to look it over.

NutmegsMom pointed out the benefit of having a second opinion for translating, especially since Howard's skill was spotty.

So, Amy can at least go back to her research---- oh wait, the University Sheldon took it away from her, so now she's stuck. Bazinga and womp womp, I guess.

I like the way Stuart's relationship is developing offscreen, and with no big issues or pitfalls coming out. Sometimes, people click, and there's no explanation.

Oh, yeah, I do remember that line.  It was pretty funny...

We had to pause and rewind the DVR, we were laughing so hard.
