I think that she did not want to do that because she shares custody of her elder daughter with the girl’s father and he would not permit the girl to move overseas.
How old is the daughter at this point? If she is close to 18, he won't have a say soon enough.

That poor young man with that growth on the back of his head. I can't imagine the struggle dealing with it. It wasn't even just how it looked, but the discharge and smell coming from it. I really wish him the best going forward. He had a really good family around him.

I definitely thought that, but I wondered how that could possibly be a field trip and not get lots of pushback from parents or buttinskies unless they devoted a whole ep to it. I too was glad it was a misdirect.
I thought for a minute it would go there too and was worried there would be too much drama if it did. I was glad it was the park too.

There were two bananas. He grabbed the one without the writing!

I enjoyed this episode better than last weeks.
I want to meet Melissa's siblings too!
The whole Kevin Hart bit was funny.

I agree, a little bit more time would be nice. This isn't Chopped.

Okay, I wrote on the banana "you are handsome". I'm going to have to explain it to him because he will think I'm a nut.
The banana is a bit brown and it is hard to see.

Why did it, again? We saw so little of it I forgot.
TBH, I don't remember it.

It would not even cross Husband’s mind to write on a banana. 🍌 And I am ok with that.
My husband likes to have a banana every morning with breakfast. Maybe I should write on it?

Also, perhaps I'm out of touch, but as romantic as red roses are, I don't think they are particularly common as wedding flowers.
Good point. They seem more the flower a partner would give for an anniversary or special event.

I just don't think Dave has the creativity to think of writing on a banana. 😂
My husband loves me very much but he wouldn't do that! And I would roll my eyes if he did.

But wouldn't she recognize his handwriting? Eh, it feeds her ego, so why not tell a white lie?
You would think she would, but even if she notice it wasn't his handwriting she wouldn't care. She can show the world how much he just loves her! 💖

Another thought. Hotel staff wrote affirmations on the bananas, and Dave picked one from the pile at Continental breakfast.
that is the other explanation. He might have even said he did it and she chose to believe him because of how special she is.

I fully support Steven's choice of red roses for the top of the cake. Red roses symbolize love . . . and the rest of his flowers on the sides of the cake were bright enough to stand up to the red topper.
Lighter flowers might have been nice, but red were just fine.

Jill takes more vacations than Paris Hilton lol.
I guess it’s 13 years and counting of being happily unemployed/grifting full time.
Paris Hilton isn't grifting, she has money. Her children also appear to be well taken care of.

I do agree with that. I thought the bright red was fighting the lovely colors he used for the rest of his design. However, the total effect was miles better than the other two cakes and he definitely deserved to win.
Yes, I will say a pale rose might have worked best.

Jill’s a liar. That is NOT a man’s handwriting. No fk’ing way David wrote that on the fruit.
In my experience, most men have pretty bad handwriting. That looks to "cutesy" for a guy to have written.

On yet another getaway. Honestly, do they spend anytime at home WITH their children?
And sorry Jill, but there is no way that is David's writing on that banana. I can so see her doing that or the hotel staff does stuff like this and David took credit for it (or Jill gave him credit.).

Heavy sigh, this is the first time I'm glad a season is finally over.
The new midwives, the abused wife, Miss Higgins, Mae, I'm sure I'm missing stuff, everything got pushed aside for the TrixieMatthew drama. Which I hated! Ruined a good character AND ruined her (finally) happy ending from last season.
Fingers crossed for next season being better
I didn't like the Trixie/Matthew storyline, but what I didn't like most is all the sudden cuts. It seemed like sometimes scenes within half a second of an actor finishing their lines. Very jolting. I enjoy this show and enjoyed the calm pace of it, now it just seems like it is rushing for too much.

So happy Stephen won - it would have been a travesty if he had not. Nicki's cake was - well it tasted good. Enough said. Robert's cake was way too busy for my taste plus IMO it wasn't stained glass - even his hummingbirds were placed on top of the stained glass effect. Stephen's cake was stunning and I would have loved to have seen it if he had another hour to finish it off.
It was a nice final challenge.
That is true he was running out of time.

I didn't like the red roses because the stained glassed leaned more to pinks, yellows, and purples (if I remember correctly).
I thought Steven's big advantage was pretty lame. Birds versus flowers versus dragonflies? I think any of them could have done any of the themes. I think the biggest advantage anyone ever got was choosing between glaze, buttercream, and fondant frostings.
I probably wouldn't want the dragonflies but I agree, it didn't feel like a momentous advantage. I guess in a way, that was good as they were more evenly matched from the start.

TBF, that's what he was going for, to tie in with the bird theme. But, I agree, it took away from the stained glass look.
He might have been better off putting the branches in the stained glass tile/ piece, surrounded by the black lines. I'm not sure I'm explaining it right.

It was noted elsewhere that Jill made her initial post around 4am, and "Renee" responded about half an hour later. WTF?
It was Jill. It was all Jill. She isn't fooling anyone.

Thanks. I was drawing a blank on who did what. Steven's cake was awesome.
No problem! And it was lovely.
I think Robert's would have been better with black lines. The thick brown lines looked too much like branches.

Rachel & Jon: Bearded in Britain
in The Couples (Spoilers)
Good point, we really don't know how involved in her life her father is and if she would even want to go to England.
