Current Plots Discussion: Actually Today's Episode
pau replied to CatLady's topic in Days Of Our Lives
I disagree. And Carrie can wash her hands of her as much as she wants, Sami doesn't give a damn. Ha. Carrie can also go live happily ever after with her perfect match Rafe Hernandez, great closure for everybody and they deserve each others. -

I never denied these stories..this character had some little stories when she was a child (played by Kimmy from Full House), yet as an adult Carrie was judgemental, hypocritical and very condescending. Actually, like i already said she reminds me of a female Rafe. And the show never acted like Sami was the only one that had a complicated relationship with Stefano..it is just that Stefano's relationship with Carrie was only when she was a little child..after that both characters had different storylines, so they did not need to interact much if at all, that's all. -

I disagree about Carrie, this character was pretty often condescending, hypocritical and judgemental..Sami could be a nightmare but Carrie was not the 'saint/good girl' this soap tried to manipulate the audience into thinking. I never fell for that. And i never saw Carrie being pretty helpful to Sami when they became adults, nah. Actually for me Carrie is quite a female Rafe, same archetype, they would be perfect for each others. Tony and Anna became a genuine and fun couple after a while..but at the beginning they were pretty surfacy and the real deal was Tony and Renee. Well Renee died so it helped a lot.. -

Carrie was not always great with Sami, it is not true. When they were children alright but the characters were children so not seen much..after that not so much, both had a role in their 'war'... And Eric was offscreen most of the time, so he did not have a close relationship with Carrie, he never had. Anna and Tony were a popular pairing but Tonny's great love was Renee. He only got with Anna to begin with as a rebound and Anna wanted money. -
PODCAST S02.E08 Go Pirates!: That's What 'They' Want You To Think

The scene where Logan is tortured/taunted by Thumper really showed Dohring is a great actor (and could be a movie star..), he made it really realistic and convey the urgency/intensity of the situation. It is really impressive. And i find the actor playing Thumper pretty good too. -

Totally agree with you about Logan and Veronica and the chemistry between the actors and their ability to create chemistry with almost all their acting partners. I think Duncan see Veronica as someone who is now tough, sarcastic, independent, sassy, vindictive sometimes, harsh sometimes not the sweet quite docile Mary Sue he fell in love with (before the show started), the perfect Mary- Sue to his Gary- Stue..and in a way Meg was his new Mary-Sue.. Veronica frightens him a bit.. Veronica is not the 'pure' sweet girl who was his first love, his match..and in these episodes he realise that and can express it in his dreams..it is his subconscious. Veronica has been tainted in his mind whereas Meg is the pure girl he miss and feel guilty about.. Granted he use a simplistic madonna/whore concept..but i am not sure Duncan works with subtle concepts..and he is still a male teenager..he express his feelings with some cliche concepts. -

Well i disagree..this type of 'dynamic' doesn't happen just because of ONE event..suddenly..it is an ongoing dynamic and every members is infected by it, in one way or another. And often members of family who are not the straight victim and want to ignore the abuse, deep down at least, know something is not 'right'.. At least in real life and while it could not be really developed onscreen on this show because this family was not the major focus, i imagined they had the typical dynamic of 'when abuse built the family ' -

Indeed Brandon was so much better than Rafe..too bad suddenly he developped an attraction for lexie..and once again Sami was insecure in her relationship..the built up of their relationship was good, although he was not as charismatic as Ej...he was still so much better than dull Rafe.. -

lol...i am french so it is funny to me..'appelons-le François plutôt !!' (total cliché french name)..haha..i like him, he has a 'frenchy suave touch' but he is also pretty french mediterranean..(with some greek/italian touch/looks) not really nordic french..Yep France is not a big country but people can be pretty different looks wise, culture wise, accent wise ect..according to geography..wink. -

PODCAST S02.E05 Go Pirates!: Stuck In The Middle With Veronica Mars

Logan was really popular at the beginning of the show, he even had a 'crew' and he was the chef..of course it was pretty superficial and because of his status but also because of his alpha/outgoing/funny personality..so once he was ostracized because accused of murder..moreover the murder of a young man from a minority..he became easily a big outcast. Duncan on the other hand was always on the sidelines and popular because he was Logan Echolls's best-friend and because of his status/his family and in a way because of his personality of a 'nice guy' who doesn't make waves, who doesn't have much of a personality actually. On the second season, he was just the golden son of the famous victim's family..the Kanes kept their halo even more than before..unlike the Echolls so he stayed popular..pretty logic. Well i agree that management of the secondary characters was often flawed..But on the other hand, it was a way for them, to try to give these characters some layers but often it came out not so smoothly or in a organic way..i don't think it was the goal obviously..but they were much more invested (sometimes too much for me) in Veronica, the title's character to the cost of these secondary characters's characterisation. -
I really liked Logan and his wet armpit's scene..I remembered loving so much this 'move' when i first saw it, because it was so not a 'tv show' thing to do..It is something really real life, real life details tv show avoid at all coasts ususally..and here they did it..loved it, so real !! haha. I don't think i saw something like this on another american tv show since..by the way.

I really loved that Veronica was so flawed...and people/characters could call her out on her bs..She was not a 'Mary sue' but not a cliche 'bad girl' either..She was flawed and sometimes she deserved to be put in her place. She was 'real' in this sense.
