I was never a Danielle fan. That hair of hers was terrible, even after her rookie "makeover."  I think she should have been shown the door after her awful second season audition, and even if they wanted to cut her a little slack for being injured during auditions, she was not any better in camp (and Kitty rightfully called her out for being "sloppy and lazy"). Amazing  what being Kelli's favorite can do for a mediocre candidate.

I too never saw the appeal of Danielle.  I'm not exactly sure how to put this but here goes...  Some women's faces just

make them look heavy.  That makes no sense, right? Maybe it's having full cheeks or something.  Crissy Teigan is an example.  In no universe could anyone say she is heavy but if you just saw her face you'd think her body was on the larger side.  Same with Danielle.  I'd see a close up picture of her and then when they'd show a full body shot I'd think, "Ok, she's not heavy after all."

Unfortunately in that moment many people (Kitty, Melissa, vets (*more on Lacey/Robin later because I know this point is debatable), the unnamed TCC’s, and the majority of this forum) found her unfriendly and unapproachable. So even if she’s just more ‘focused’ and ‘intense’ than others, but really isn’t an arrogant person, it doesn’t matter right now. It’s that whole ‘perception is reality’ argument. I would hope Gina watched that episode and said ‘omg can’t believe I came off like that bc I’m not that type of person’ & is working on it. My guess is she’s deemed it unworthy of her attention the same way she deemed K&J’s feedback as unworthy - both on her personality and dance.

Tina reminds me of a potential new member who was going through sorority recruitment one of the years I was in college.  This particular woman was just rude and condescending to everyone she met so, of course, she wasn't a big favorite and ended up getting cut early from most of the houses.  She was heard to tell one of the recruitment counselors that she wasn't surprised by the heavy cuts because "the sisters were intimidated by my hotness".  (exact quote)

The way I understood it, the menu wasn't meant to make sense in a gastronomical way; they were served food that is traditionally difficult to eat in order to test them on their etiquette.

Reminded me of the scene in Pretty Woman where Richard Gere took Julia Roberts to a fancy restaurant and when she was trying to figure out how to eat her escargot the whole thing went flying across the room

THIS.  I am SO over the guest choreographers.  This latest one was another installment of the ongoing "see how WORLD CLASS DCC is...we have someone in our studio that danced with P!nk!"  I can't even remember the dude's name, but he literally did NOTHING but host a dance party while gratuitous P!nk music played (which I agree with the few that felt it was awkward and unnecessary).  Sadly, it looks like more guest choreographers and celebrities are coming next week.

This show has definitely jumped the shark.

Haha, this made me think that the next guest choreographer might be the Left Shark from Katy Perry's Super Bowl performance a few years back.

Does anyone have an idea of how tall Kalyssa is?  I can't tell if she just looks teeny tiny or if she actually is teeny tiny.

Lauren is really likeable and relatable IMO. I find myself smiling when she's on screen.

I know!  As far as I'm concerned, any woman brave enough to be within 5 miles of the Star in curlers and glasses totally rocks.  She's adorable and I'm definitely rooting for her.

    @TeriyakiTerror, add Deryn Derbigny...

Okay, I admit I have not the slightest idea who Deryn Derbigny is (other than being a former DCC, of course) but can I say I absolutely LOVE her name?  She sounds like a character in one of the Harry Potter books :)

Don't forget, though, Kelli's been doing this for 33 years!

You know, when I went back and read this I realized that it sounds snarky and I didn't mean for it to be that way at all.  I loved seeing her interact with the veterans; she seemed very natural and caring.  She didn't seem nervous or hesitant which I think could be a result of her having made many of these visits in the past.

  8. I never saw "Angel" but within the past year I've done an on and off "Bones" marathon through the entire series and I find that I absolutely adore Boreanz (or maybe it's Booth I like so much; idk.)  The advertisement for the show caught my eye so I'm definitely going to tune in, but every time I hear about a SEAL-based tv show I worry it's going to be laugh out loud horrible like that old Charlie (pre-tiger blood) Sheen movie!

I'm okay with a filler episode of creepy sister just being let loose on the world and doing her worst.

Bravo!  You made me laugh out loud while I'm listening to a conference call at work.  Thank goodness it was muted!

The VA visit was fabulous.  I was impressed to see how many of the ladies (including Kelli) were so at-ease and comfortable speaking to some of the seriously injured veterans.  Not everyone is comfortable in that type of environment, but they stepped into that scene and owned it.

Don't forget, though, Kelli's been doing this for 33 years!

@Pink-n-Green, I think your friend was more about feeling left out because she couldn't understand you than about insulting the waiter.  If I was fluent in a second language (which I am not by any stretch of the imagination), then I would ask if they would prefer me to speak in that language if I notice that they're struggling with English.  I remember reading something on Facebook recently about people who were fluent in another language and what they would overhear.  Some of the reactions from the people when the individual replied IN THEIR LANGUAGE must have been priceless.

No. Don't. Your friend is jealous. Bye.

Wow, I never thought of it that way.  My friend is awesome, but I can see how she would feel excluded if there were three people interacting and two of them were speaking a language she didn't know.  That makes me feel better about the waiter but now I feel guilty about my friend! LOL

  12. Ok ladies (and gentlemen if there are any here), I have a question for you!

This past weekend my friend and I were having dinner at a Russian restaurant.  I know that our server was Russian because I overheard him speaking in Russian to another server.  Now, my first language is Russian (I spent most of my time with my grandmother as a child while my mom worked and she was more comfortable speaking Russian.  I learned English as well, since my mom would only speak to me in English, but I wasn't completely comfortable with the language until kindergarten.  Ok, enough exhaustive background!

Our waiter's English was definitely a work in progress and I thought he would be more comfortable speaking to us in Russian so that is how I addressed him.  He seemed happy about that but, once we left the restaurant, my friend told me she thought what I did was condescending.  That I was basically telling him his English sucked and I didn't want to put up with it.  I swear, that never crossed my mind; I was trying to make it easy for him.  Now I feel really bad about the whole thing.

Was I out of line?  I kind of feel like a jerk.

For example, Brianna. This show has been on 12 years or since she was at least 6 years old. You should know what to expect--out of auditions, training camp and Kelli & Judi. All of it!!

I'm not a dancer so take this with a grain of salt but I always thought that if you were good at ballet, you could dance any style.  I figured ballet is the foundation other styles are built upon.  Maybe Brianna thought something along those lines?  Or, more likely, I don't know what the heck I'm talking about.

Why would the Commander go after Baz first? It was Craig that was raping his daughter as much as the teacher was raping J.

Remember, though, that Baz is the one who "brought him in" and got him involved in the Camp Pendleton heist.  He was pretty pi$$ed off about that before he walked past Craig and Nikki getting high in Craig's room.

She did seem surprised. A poster on Reddit suggested that it could have been Nicki's father. He was supposed to be in town that day for her graduation. Maybe he didn't miss his plane after all. He hates the family for getting him & Nicki involved in their crimes, for undermining his authority and also for enabling her drug use.

Wow, that blindsided me but it's a fantastic theory!  I kind of hope that's it.

Erin is obsessed w/ that air mattress - I think she's talked about it every time she's been shown ;)...and brought it up to K&J.  I'm gonna name her "air mattress Erin"...

I am rewatching the episode.  How about this one - new girls giving fun facts about themselves...

Alexandria - I can speak, write and read in Greek

Other girls go through a litany of shallow things like "I can lick my elbow, I can put my tounge on my nose, I want to be on carpool karaoke"...

I know, right?  Plus, I think prospective cheerleaders bragging about what they can do with their tongues is....unseemly.  What's next?  "I can shoot a ping pong ball out of my woo hoo"?

I've wondered about this myself.  Is it their responsibility to tell if they know something? Or are you expected to keep your mouth shut unless you are specifically confronted with a question?  If they do tell on their own, do K&J look at that like they're untrustworthy rats (kind of like The Walking Dead when Negan didn't take too kindly to Spencer throwing Rick under the bus) ?

Well, the honor code at the US Military Academy (West Point) reads:  "We will not lie, steal, or cheat, nor tolerate among us anyone who does".  Maybe the cheerleaders take a similar oath:  "We swear on our poms that we will not overeat, drink underage or hook up with players, nor tolerate among us anyone who does.  Unless they're related to someone."

  19. I was looking at DCC photos over on the Cowboys website and I noticed that during the National Anthem the cheerleaders have their poms in their left hand and their right hand on their hearts.  It made me wonder if the international DCC such as Jinelle and Yuko are also required to put their hands over their hearts or if only American DCC do.  If I were the citizen of another country, I think I would feel uncomfortable doing that.  I'd stand, of course, to show respect, but keep both hands at my sides.

Maybe I'm in a mood (I am!) but I thought The Star was tacky as shit.  An embarrassment of riches.  All those mirror windows.  Tacky.  Thought the same about the locker room.

Well, when it's someone else (ie the taxpayers) paying, the sky's the limit!

She had great kicks. You always hear Kelli/Judy talking about pretty girls who can't kick but never say anything about average looking girls who CAN kick.

It's funny because I kept thinking how much she looked like Cerstan, but the powers that be think Cerstan has the DCC look.  IMO, Cerstan just has a better hairstyle for her features.

Haha, let's be serious, it's all you need. Honestly, I can tell that Lacey got a nose job but who cares. They did an amazing job and it really complements her face. She's a total glamazon and would also be a great point and spokesperson. She's quite articulate and has a very grounded and calming energy - all attributes Jen K has! Even though I was never a die-hard Jen K fan, I can't deny she was a great unofficial captain.

I agree!  Do you remember that mother and daughter team that tried out and the daughter got invited back to semi-finals?  I thought she was a great dancer and am convinced that it is her nose that kept her from advancing.  A little tweek can make a big difference.
