  1. The only scene I can think of without Tyler would be the prom dress shopping scene. Remember the touching moments April brought to that outing?

ETA: there were also a few scenes with her Grandma.

  2. I thought that Anna was due sometime in early July. I'm actually wondering where she'll have the baby...are they still in DC til the end of July or have they moved and we just don't know of their whereabouts at the moment? Somewhere, I read that they were renting their house until the end of July.  TLC will probably not be filming the birth, but who knows what TLC is thinking now.

Wasn't Anna newly postpartum when they moved to DC? Sad that she has to do it again, unless he makes her leave prior to her delivery. That shit right there sounds exhausting and now she has to do it again.

  3. I feel like some of them would have done the show with the hypothetical tuition/trust fund payment method. I definitely think Kailyn would have. She had nothing of her own, she was living in Eddie and Janet's basement and working like 3 jobs while trying to go to school. I'm not a huge fan of Kail (mostly because she's a raging bitch who can't make it through the day without belittling someone) but she was a hard worker who just needed a leg up. I also think Maci would have done it, because I do believe that she did want to go to school and grow up. I think her "fame" and money made her lazy, but I do think she had potential. I think that were on 16 and pregnant that would have done it, (or would have been on Teen Mom if asked) but I don't know who turned MTV down. One girl that comes to mind is Taylor Lumas, who had her baby at 14-15, and graduated high school on time with little help from her daughter's father. She has stayed out of the spotlight so I wouldn't be surprised if she wanted no part of MTV.

One that comes to mind from 16&P was Brooke. She was a tomboy that got pregnant and then married. She and her husband were trying to build an inexpensive barn to build and live in. She seemed pretty down to earth.

    ETA: Changed to *inexpensive*

  4. I'm  someone that sent a check to that fund.  I don't feel taken.  I'm not pissed.  I'm not a "fan" and I'm not sorry I did it.  It wasn't so much about college for me as it was  a simple gesture towards two good kids to show them people do care about their story; that despite all the crappy  circumstances of Catelynn's life, maybe it would be nice to feel like someone cared about what happens to her.   At the time, it seemed like these kids weren't getting any support from their families (April and Butch) for not only their decision to place their baby for adoption but for anything they did.

So a couple of teenagers with backgrounds like theirs  didn't follow through on college for whatever reason isn't even a little shocking to me.  I've sat on several scholarship committees and believe me, Catelynn and Tyler aren't the first young people with good intentions and bad (or more likely non-existent) advisors on how to accomplish them. They barely finished high school, if they lacked the skills needed to get through a semester of college it's not surprising.  Hell, I don't think Amber and Butch ever finished high school much less thought about going to a secondary school.

All this to say that First-Gen students often face extra challenges not only matriculating but completing their studies.  They are more likely to drop out as a result;  nationally, less than half of all First-Gen college students actually graduate college in six years.   If Tyler and/or Catelyn ever really do go to school I hope they are fortunate enough to hook up with a program that specifically helps first-generation students.

Sorry, but I believe that a couple of "good kids" would have returned the money.

  5. I'm only halfway through so more thoughts later. But one for now: Fuck off, Tyler.

So THIS^^^^. What was this bullshit of him wanting for Catelynn to "look her hottest" (paraphrasing) walking down the isle? She will look her hottest knowing that she is walking down the isle to a man who loves her unconditionally no matter what her size. I hope something/someone stops this wedding for Cate's sake.

  6. I've never been to a gender reveal party- must be my age (52).

I do like the idea of an anti- gender reveal party. Just a party for party's sake, with no gifts.

I went to an anti- prom party instead of prom. Just a high school kegger but fun!

You must have grown up in California. I did that too!

  7.

Something that made me SMH who or why would invite the Duggars to lecture in China? Don't the Chinese practice birth control? I can't imagine them understanding the whole 19 kids nonsense.

I think it was more of a side show rather than lecture. I cannot imagine the Chinese would be interested otherwise.

  8. Ok, here I am again. I've been watching a lot of the reruns because I'm not a Duggettes fan. I see so many things about them that irritate me. Mostly Mechelles annoying baby fake voice. But watching these illiterate children is shameful. They let the children speak on camera a lot but most  They don't go to church? Why? They have their own church at home. Sounds like a cult to me. Perio

I am convinced the church at home business is Boob's attempt to declare the TTH as a tax free structure. I don't think it's working though.

  9. Yeah, out of the TMS-one and two- Chelsea to me, anyway, is the best. Granted, she had a few troubles in the beginning but I like her. I also like that on the TM2 reunion last year, she didn't allow Dr. Sad Panda to make her feel bad about dating random guys and NOT having them be on the show. I agree, that she and Maci do seem to share the same similarities, though. Probably also that neither girls families thought they would end up with babies at 16.

I do think like others Maci only stopped having Bentley on the show because she knew she put a whole thing last week and MTV wasn't backing down or changing their minds and she needs the money, so she had to take something away and make a statement here or something. But now her whole focus on this show is moot. This isn't like KUWTKs where Kayne and Kim had their baby off the show because this show was never about their child, but with this show, Bentley was a major focus. Its really stupid. I also feel like if Maci felt that strongly that MTV had went against what they told her about keeping Farrah off the show and she was THAT upset, why would she want to continue to be a part of something that she felt so strongly was wrong? I mean, I know why, like I said before, she needs that check but still.. way to not back up your morals, much.

Because the alternative would be getting a J-O-B.

  10. During the Series Finale episode, CT revealed that BT gave them their address. (Home). Around the time of Carly's third b day.

I have a feeling they will regret that. If they don't already.

  11. Listening to the younger children in the TH (from 10? years old on down), to me is a bit worrisome.

It doesn't help that they have a mother that talks to them in that idiot high pitched voice.  Can you imagine Nutchelle teaching the SOTDRT in that voice? How distracting that would be.

  12. On the other hand, I can see Joy using it. On the notion that the younger children were allowed to run wild and she won't have remembered anything else.

I remember a TH where Joy said she didn't want to marry because it was too much work. I hope she keeps this in mind as she's being lined up for a courtship. It will be sooner than she thinks.
