Cassie’s last year is also the year they took 39, so it’s quite possible she was “injured reserve” so to speak. Especially since she was only a short time from being fully healed.

There’s enough to bitch about when it comes to Cassie, but firing someone from their job because they got injured on the job isn’t a great look. Especially going into her fifth year. I think it got squishy because she was almost okay enough to try out, but they really should have waived her through. Danielle too. If they’ve proven themselves as a cheerleader the year(s) prior and have an injury that will heal in a timely manner, why not bring them back? They can always be let go during camp or the season if progress isn’t being made.

And unlike Rycroft’s highly contagious cooties, Brooke, Danielle, Cassie, Gina, etc could still do appearances during at least some of their healing process. It’s a dance job, there’s gray area, bit that’s not new for the DCC.

I've always said that about Season 7 - they took more on the squad fully expecting that Cassie (and maybe others) would not be able to dance. Yes, not a great look to fire someone just because of an injury, but I object to Cassie being given so many opportunities that year when she couldn't keep up her end of the bargain.  No way she should have been given group leader, show group, etc. when she was having to "electively pull herself" from pregame performances.  She most definitely took someone's else's spot, especially when talking about the opportunities of show group.  No other cheerleader (save VK) would be given such special treatment.

Sorry for getting a bit off-topic as I realize this section is about the current squad.

Emily very nice just pigeon toed and terrified. If she couldve fixed her expression and feet, which she clearly could not, she’d be a shoe in. It’s to bad.

I think I just figured out why I couldn't put my finger on why Emily rubbed me the wrong way.  I suspect that it was the edit she received on the show.  K&J seemed like they were all over her for everything, and in a manner that could cause viewers to perceive her a certain way.  She still had her dance issues that she ultimately couldn't correct, but I suspect that Emily's a lovely woman beyond the show.

lol aw. I think she's gorgeous, but that's about it. She has no power whatsoever and couldn't be further from a cheerleader. She just kept being barely passable. And like you said...awkward, timid, insecure. Wonder if she's always like that or was just there because she was so out of her element. Regardless, it was really unappealing

Did we ever see her once nail a routine or do it well or powerfully...ever? Like, literally? Beautiful does not an entertaining, powerful dancer make, Kelli

There was one time during the show where Judy said Meredith was "sharp."  That was the only time I can remember, and that was after she struggled repeatedly with the entrance and nearly pulled down the two girls next to her in the kick line.

I thought Andrea Richards started off Season 1 with the cop costume?

Season 12 - Jenna and Cersten

Season 13 - Lacey is wearing #1, but Kelli says let’s get this party started with Hannah.  Maddie finished it off

Andrea Richards was #16 in Season 1 finals.  In the clip on YouTube, you can see Lynlee wearing #1 while sitting next to Brooke.  On closer look, it may have been Elizabeth Davis that finished solos that year.

I hope nobody asks me what I did this afternoon....saying that I gamed out Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders formation hypotheticals from 3 years ago, would probably earn me the biggest side-eye ever 😂

I'm right there with you.  Today, I went back through the seasons and figured out who started and finished finals during the show's run.  I blame COVID boredom.  🙂

    For anyone interested:

Season 1: #1 - Lynlee Allen; Elizabeth Davis

    Season 2: #1 - Megan Fox; #85 - Nicole Hamilton

    Season 3: #1 - Nicole Hamilton; #89 - Kandi Harris

    Season 4: #1 - Justine Phillips; #74 - Nicole Hamilton

    Season 5: #1 - Trisha Trevino; #73 - Brooke Sorenson

    Season 6: #1 - Ally Traylor; #69 - Sunni Cranfill

    Season 7: #1 - Whitney Isleib; #79 - Jackie Bob

    Season 8: #1 - Jackie Bob; #86 - Mia Greenhouse

    Season 9:  #1 - Jenn A; #85 - Jacie

    Season 10: #1 - Jacie; #82 - Melissa

Season 11: #1 - Erica; #71 - Holly (she actually DID end solos one year - I was wrong!)

    Season 12: #1 - Jenna; Cersten

    Season 13: #1 - Lacey; Maddie

    Season 14: #1 - Amy; #80 - Maddie

Edited to add info for seasons 1, 12, and 13. 😊

  6. I was just watching the semi-finals from Season 7 - saw Melissa (rockstar rookie - noticeably heavier), Morgan (also a bit heavier), Hannah (in the same outfit she wore at auditions in Season 8), Tessa, Auto Amy, and Nina (no personality girl that was cut in Season 6 training camp).  But I didn't see Jenn A anywhere.  Am I missing it?

I also can't believe that Chelsea was able to pull all that fake BS on K&J.  I remember watching that season for the first time and getting strong fake vibes every time she opened her mouth.

I honestly don’t think she would have. Holly is talented, but she was never really a rah rah go team go girl like the others that have been point.  Or showed exceptional leadership. Jenna wasn’t necessarily a rah rah girl, but she was a group leader and strong in teaching dances, leading song changes, etc.

Holly was a bit of a me monster and smug AF. I’m sure she would have been triangle, but there were a lot of solid dancers to be featured that year.  Holly didn’t start or finish solos either...Jenna and Cerstyn that year IIRC.

I don't think you're wrong, which is why I think that Holly would have been point if it wasn't for her behavior.  Holly is super talented, but I agree that she was in it for herself and not the team.  Nothing inherently wrong with that, but why not just go the professional dancer route rather than going with a TEAM? I believe it was for the exposure DCC brings more than anything.

Very interesting point that Holly didn't start or finish solos, which is a bit of a head scratcher. Again, probably due to her individualistic approach. But I would have rather had Holly end solos than Cersten (I was never a fan of Cersten's dancing or attitude).

I still think Jenna was robbed. She should have had point well before her 6th season.

Potentially.  Not considering Holly's behavior (because that's how KaShara got point to begin with - by Jenna and Holly's screw-up), I'm convinced Holly would have been point for as long as she remained on the team once Jenna exited.

Who are some of your underrated cheerleaders from past seasons? I really liked Alex H. and Ashley Marie, but I don't see them talked about much anymore.

Big fan of Katy (rookie in Season 6 that was called out by Kitty for being too tan). She was not featured very much and I don't think she was ever on Show Group, but she was a great dancer with a great look.

The family that owns Chick-Fil-A supported organizations that perform psychological torture (so-called "conversion therapy"), and lobby groups that were trying to prevent marriage equality. I don't care what philosophy they hold to justify these actions, but they're certainly not "living and let live." And no, being gay isn't a choice.

I don't understand the Chick-Fil-A love.  I went there one time back in 2011 and was wholly unimpressed with their products.  I wonder if the religious aspect of their business is the draw more than the food, because it's an easy drop for me in light of their support for entities that are unaccepting of our LGBTQ citizens.
