  1. I wonder if they are cautioned not to use fire as a predator scare tactic in case of it getting out of control?  Most animals have a natural fear of fire and I think maybe Amos could try  carrying a torch made of a tree limb and boughs outside with him when those wolves are around, especially at night.  Maybe repetition of that might scare them off a bit further.

Geeze, the wolf pack around Amos’ shelter was scary! Doesn’t he have a door on his shelter? 😬

Anybody know what kind of accent Roland has? I know he lives in Alaska. Is that an Alaskan accent?

According to the Altoona Mirror (online newspaper) he is originally from Clearfield County Pennsylvania.

  3. The Chime commercial where the woman is so smug to get paid 2 days earlier than others and says she can "boast" at the office about having already been paid.  Is paying a fee to receive money already owed to you 2 days sooner than you would otherwise get it something to be envied by coworkers?

I did wonder though how he would have reacted if he'd been selected by whoever the Bachelorette was (don't remember her name) when he was on that show.  He probably would have said "Oh shit! How do I get out of this mess?!" LOL

He'd have *thought* "Oh shit! How do get out of this mess?!"  But he'd have said "It's ok!"😀

Ree seems very humanly frazzled as the Staying home episodes proceed. I'm only up to the third one but she seems to be a little drunk or delirious in the third episode.

She's normally super calm so it's a little strange watching her have zero fs to give 😂

    Understandable but strange!

Frazzled is right.  I listened to her audiobook a few years back, and watching her Staying Home episodes reminded me of what an airhead I thought she was while listening to that.  If she acts anything like she's doing in the Staying Home episodes on the usual set, I'm flabbergasted she's kept the job.  Without professional direction, she can't seem to measure out her ingredients in advance or keep her train of thought when saying what ingredient she's currently adding to the pot or bowl.  Maybe I'm watching for the wrong reasons, because I keep hoping one of the kids will follow Ladd around instead and give us some "here's what's happening on the ranch" footage while she dithers in the kitchen.

  6. She seemed incapable of deciphering who to trust her entire life, and always chose the easiest path financially.  Both sides of the abortion debate used her, but my sympathy is also tempered by the fact that she knowingly played along.  Turning her back on Connie was the saddest example.   I was multi-tasking and missed it.  Did she have one daughter she gave away?  And then was that the daughter she was pregnant with at the time she got involved with abortion rights who was with her at the end in the nursing home?  I wasn't clear whether she raised either of her children herself.

I agree the show has run out of anything interesting.  Perhaps Amy is pushing for a cooking show because soon there will be no more family show.

Would not be interested in her cooking show.

I can see her having a "chat while cooking" show on the new Magnolia channel where someone else does the real cooking.  And I think a Say Yes to The Dress episode is in her future.

    Yes, but this is internationally.

She's an idiot not to have brought her divorce papers, but what confused me was the marriage bureau guy.  He started off talking about how they have to post a notice outside announcing the marriage, which I took me mean a sort of bulletin board.  Then when finding out BibbyGirl didn't have her divorce papers, he asked "Are they in the system?"  What system was he talking about in a location where public announcements are made on a bulletin board?

.... but Maddie is (usually) more professional than that, especially in the middle of a disaster!

Usually, yes.  But I didn't think much of her informing the guy trapped in the freezer how much oxygen he had left,  What 9-1-1 operator would mention that?  I can see asking for the dimensions of the freezer to get some idea to tell the first responders, but to actually tell the caller how long the air might last?  Way to panic the guy further, Maddie.

Sergio's - too predictable.  I loved that blue-gray ombre dress at the end of his mini-collection, though.  The cowboy fringe looks great on that dress, but nowhere else.  Still trying to figure out where that fringe comes into play with climate change and the polar ice caps melting.

I thought he would launch into an explanation of how the fringe represent icicles as snow melts and refreezes, but he either didn't think of it or they just didn't show it.  It was the only possible connection I could come up with.

I agree. If it's not one of those two, I think they go outside the season. Maybe Tayshia. Please not Hannah B again.

I can't shake the ugly feeling they are deciding between Hannah B and Demi, because they are still trying to make them both relevant during Peter's season.

  12. If I had completed all the hard work and challenges necessary to become the first female pilot for the Blue Angels (or to be any other female pilot in the U.S. Armed Forces), I would be insulted that my employer thought it was appropriate to ask me to make an appearance related to the crap that was that group date challenge on The Bachelor.

I lost count of the number of times Hannah B. dramatically replied "I don't kno-o-o-o-w-UH" to every question asked by Production or Peter, just like she did during her turn as Bachelorette.  Far from having done any self-reflection or gained any insights into herself in the months since, she's apparently still dithering over her F3 choices.   Wish Peter would tell her to shove off like Tyler did.

I counted 20 "likes" by Madison in a single conversation with Peter (before I gave up counting) about how, like, the family date was perfect, because like, she's already having like, the feels.  I hope she's not going to like, continue to go around with like, her mouth flapping open at like, everything that happens as if it's an awe-inspiring, breathtaking moment.  I've already seen enough of her tonsils to last me a lifetime.

  13. For anyone with a general interest in shows where people meet relatives they didn't know they have, you might want to check out a show called Relative Race.  It airs on the BYU channel, so if that puts you off in general, never mind.  I'm not religious and have not found the content to reference it much.  It has not been offensive to me.

Four teams of 2 seeking information about their origins (could be married couples or siblings) compete in a road race around the U.S and have some kind of wacky challenge to complete before they get the address of their relative and get to go discover more about who they are.  The team coming in last gets a strike, and three strikes and you're out.  It's probably the "nicest" game show I've ever seen, as all of the couples tend to root for one another because they know themselves how much they want to meet their own families.

They would be able to tell from the DNA if Sallie had any Hick's DNA. I got the impression she doesn't know who either of her birth parents are. The "aunt" she now has is the daughter of Hicks Sr.

I can't ignore the possibility that Jr. may not have been the biological child of Sr, throwing even more confusion in the mix.  Maybe Mrs. Hicks was kicking up her heels with someone else while her husband was allegedly busy having children with other women.  It seems unusual to me they had only 1 child together in an era when birth control was not readily available.  If he wasn't using birth control with his other women, it's doubtful he was using it with his wife.  Or maybe they just swore off one another totally after Jr. was conceived.  But I think the possibility exists that Jr. is not the bio child of Sr.  Yep, I'm giving this way too much thought.

Wait - what happened to Stephen's  twin brother? Did they ever say?

so who is sallie 's birth father or mother? Did I miss that too?

I'm confused there right along with you.  Sallie wasn't shown to have the slightest curiosity who her birth mother might be, which made me wonder if she knows that information already.  But her curiosity about whether she was the bio child of Dr. Hicks Sr. or Dr. Hicks Jr. led her to an exhumation, leading me to believe  she either can't find out anything about her birth father from her birth mother, or still doesn't know who her birth mother is.  The DNA said no to Dr. Hicks Jr. being her bio father, but does that also mean it can't be Dr. Hicks Sr?  And then at the end she was said to have a half-sibling who chose not to participate.  So is that half-sibling related to Sallie on her bio mother's or bio father's side?  And did Sallie or her half-sibling find out as a result of that connection the identify of either one of their bio parents?

We were not told anything further about Stephen's twin brother.  I'm guessing the show couldn't find out any other info about that, but had to tell Stephen because he was about to see his birth certificate for the first time (the Dr. Hick's version of it anyway) and would see that it said he was part of a twin birth.  Stephen's story is really heartbreaking.  Presuming his was a "typical" $1000 Dr. Hicks adoption, why would his adoptive family reject him?

I'm going back to live in a happy Hallmark fantasy world now where Stephen's twin saw him on the show from his nursing home in Cincinnati or something and gets in contact him.
