I would just love a bit of backstory on some of the weird ideas.

It would sure help pass the time more pleasantly.

I'd love to see sketches from experienced new school artists showing what they would have done with some of the requests: a pizza cutter vs chopsticks as weapons, maybe, for sushi fighting pizza? New school style encourages artists to let their imaginations run wild and some of the men in particular seemed intimidated by that.

Pon said online that the show had to go through 2-3 open canvases before they found people who were okay with getting the dog faces last week. Understandable when it's not your pet and you may have no affinity or even liking for that breed.

I think Iris has some real hang-ups about sex. It’s not just about her waiting for marriage or the right relationship. She seems repulsed by sex.

Agreed. It has become clear that it's not a religious issue like she claims; it's a disgust and fear issue.

Keith has been approaching Iris like she's one of the kids he coaches, using a calm, adult, rational tone. That could come off as patronizing/insulting, but Iris is acting like a 10-year-old so I can't be mad.

Deonna's compliments to Greg were really well thought out and sweet. I hope they eventually arrive at a good place wrt their individual libidos. I'm rooting hard for them!

  3. I love when Dave gets to be the deciding judge: "I don't want a tattoo of a horse fucking me!"

Hopefully more women will win TOTD now that the judges' favoritism curse has been broken. Dani continues to be robbed, but I was pleased for Ash and Alexis that they finally got positive feedback during the critique.

Fon shows what happens when someone specializes primarily in one style; this isn't Black and Gray Realism Master.

  4. I'll be watching. Spade seemed a bit nervous but that's to be expected. Scheduling 12 guests a week might be tough for a half hour show; two panelists should be sufficient and allow each time to shine, especially if there are also going to be regular sketches.

The audience for the stand-up looked quite befuddled!

This could be a good replacement for @midnight with comics riffing on current events.

The damn doctor already prescribes me Ativan for a checkup so don't make me wait!

Waiting doesn't help soothe any anxiety, that's for sure.

Over the last couple of years I've developed white coat syndrome and my BP and heart rate spike while I'm kept waiting.

Then the doctor freaks out and wants to put me on BP medicine. I take my own sphygmometer to show the history is normal, but the last doctor pushed it away and said he doesn't "believe those things". But he does believe I need medication after one visit when I'm nervous and upset.

  6. Matt likely ghosted Amber overnight on purpose in order to goad her into leaving. I think he's one of the top assholes on all seasons of the show, and that's saying something.

Jamie said Beth knew he was sensitive about his parents' divorce, but neither of them are exactly paragons of truth and at this point I take nothing they say at face value.

If Beth wants more sexual adventurousness from Jamie, it's on her to suggest it/take the lead. It's also another of her lies -- either to the audience about their sex being good, or to Jamie about it being bad in order to hurt him.

There's a lid for every pot, etc., but I think Matt is homely as hell.

Don’t touch Iris’s lemonade - it brings out her dark side.

Put me in mind of a certain women in a yellow dress with a baseball bat.

Amber's phone call to her dad was rough to hear. It's been sinking in for a while, but it just hit home for her that Matt doesn't give two shits about her or the marriage that she's been pouring all her hopes and dreams into.

I think all applicants for the show going forward should be made to watch every single episode of every season. It seems like some of the men especially have no idea what the show is about or what they're in for.

On a more pleasant note, it was great to see Deonna loosen up with their friends and share a bit of physical affection and playfulness with Greg. She looks lovely when she's laughing.

  8. I was a little puzzled seeing David Spade as the guest last night ... not Trevor's style. Then it dawned on me ... corporate synergy.

I enjoy Spade's humor on his old Showbiz Show and will be watching his new series. Wonder if he'll sit on his own set side-facing the guests? (He was playing to Trevor's audience but it was still odd to watch.) Funny to hear that Trevor's mother in 1990s South Africa liked Spade on Just Shoot Me -- most random reference ever.

  9. I understand medical emergencies, but office staff should freaking schedule to allow for same-day appointments! I don't know why so many offices seemingly haven't figured this out.

Also, a lot of the chronically late doctors are specialists who don't even have emergencies. I was quite salty with the dermatologist's office last time they made me wait.

My limit is 45 minutes. The receptionists always look shocked when I tell them I'm leaving.

I also don't care how competent and caring a doctor is, I can't continue to see them if their front office and nursing staff are bored or rude, don't answer the phone or call me back, don't check their patient portal emails, screws up appointment or prescription requests, etc.

  10. Renovation shows always start out fun and then I slowly lose interest as the flippers settle into the same style and use their standby materials over and over. Which is good business practice but not so interesting to watch.

Kitchen finishes become even more crucial with open concept floor plans. While I didn't mind the blue in and of itself, there was a lot of it. At least break up the upper and lower cabinet colors, or insert some white cabinets in with the blue. I'm also tired of the stacking; either buy standard tall cabinets or don't bother.

I agree about the ugly backsplash color that didn't coordinate with anything, as well as the bad-decision butcher block. Subway tiles can also bite me! This was one of Two Chicks' most expensive flips and now they decide to cheap out?? Both drawer pull choices were subpar, if you ask me. Maybe Mina and Karen could save money by not paying yet another family member to do the books?

The front porch columns looked too skinny and insignificant, which they usually tear out on existing houses.

Oh, and Mina's vocal fry is getting on my nerves.

On a kinder note, Jack is adorable.

  11. Some nice tattoos in the face-off challenge and the masks didn't suck. My needs are few, show.

The outcry continues about Ash staying, but her mask was better than Tito's to me and more importantly, a man was due to leave.

Nunez emphased "traditional" Japanese a couple of times, yet some artists figured they should change colors and add fangs ... smh.

Can anyone point me to an image of a good hannya tattoo? I'm not sure what Nunez was expecting to see. The editors could have thrown us a bone there.

Cross stitch ain't what it used to be.

    Thanks for the link.

Seeing those samples, I have to retract my criticism about Pon's rose not looking like cross stitch. His outline did sort of resemble this. (Still badly done, though!)

  13. I sometimes think about the older woman with a blackhead the size of a quarter on her face, but only because I see her face on embedded ads that follow me around. She went to Dr. Lee and willingly signed the forms, but this wasn't an anonymous lump on someone's thigh. I hope she (and other patients) haven't gotten blowback from giving up their privacy. And have never read the You Tube comments!

And maybe if she would have done something when he was small he wouldn't need such extensive treatment!

So many of these patients have put off care for years or decades. Get it off while it's small! But purposefully delaying care for your child is a whole nother level of ignorance.

I got a kick out of the hand doctor mocking Dr. Lee for her goopy food comparisons. I feel the same!
