She didn't.  She said the producers got the pictures off of his social media.

If you watch the clip from Sherri's show yesterday, Sherri says that it was Sunny that brought the pics.

  2. So did Scott Foley kill the rich guy at the party that Supergirl was at?  (Sorry, I don't know any of the character names)  Is that what they were implying?  And that was the most out in the open handing of secret files that I've ever seen.  How did the FBI miss that?

Whatever.  If this somehow gets renewed for a second season, I'll probably watch it.  Gotta watch something while I fold laundry.

Honestly, I don't think good for anyone in this situation.  It is creepy as hell that Sunny brought shirtless pictures of her son to Sherri's show.  It is creepy as hell that Sherri made a bunch of lusty remarks about her friend's son.  It is also creepy as hell for Sherri to make remarks like that about someone that young.  If the genders were reversed, and some 50-something year old dude were making comments like that about a twenty-one year old girl, people would be icked out.  I can't imagine, for instance, Jimmy Fallon seeing pictures of a guest's collage aged daughter and going, "Yeah, I'd tap that."  Of course, I can't imagine anyone bringing pics of their daughter to be gawked at either, so again, Sunny is also creepy in this situation.  So to conclude, poor Gabriel, for several reasons!

Meanwhile, Sunny also made some argument that the "kids" in the college protests are somehow severely affected by having police show up because they had to endure "active fire drills" when they were children. So, people who had to have "drills" are more vulnerable than someone whose mother actually did things to her?

I think she meant lockdown/active shooter drills, not fire drills.  Her reasoning is still faulty though.  There's no excuse for blocking people from being able to go to class and the fact that graduation ceremonies have been cancelled is sad.  And while I think there are plenty of protestors that are not doing these things, the fact that many have been allowed to cross that line is ridiculous.  Then there's the hate speech.

My husband's boss has a daughter in college (I believe at the University of Denver).  She came home early a few weeks ago because they're Jewish and the anti-Semitic stuff that people were saying to her on campus got to be too much.  She's transferring next fall to a different university.  Earlier this week, Joy said that since college is breaking for the summer, all the protestors will be gone soon and by fall, they'll have moved on, but what she didn't consider is that for the Jewish students who had nasty things said to them by their peers (and in some cases, possibly their friends), there's no just "moving on" from that.

  5. I am so over the "what's the best age to have children" topic (and all its various forms, ie, "I'm so glad I had kids young" and "I'm so glad I'm an older mom).  It's stupid.  There are so many factors that go into when women (cuz these articles and conversations are always about women, never men) end up having kids, many of which aren't even controllable (when you meet someone, fertility issues, etc).  I swear the topic only exists to get people upset and feel that they have to defend (or second guess) their life choices.

Here's how I think it's supposed to go.  In the original series there was a two parter where Nimrod traveled back in time to assassinate a young Xavier - this is briefly shown in the credits with Bishop blasting Nimrod to pieces while the alternate Storm and Wolverine watch.  Somehow, pieces of Nimrod survived to infect a Bastion's father, who passed all of this knowledge to Bastion when he was conceived.  Bastion then grew up and eventually all of those memories resurfaced.

As a fun bonus, Bastion's mom looks a LOT like a waitress who showed up in the original episodes.

Ah, I see.  So in the episode prior, when Sinister was all, "Didn't you used to be one of the villains that the X-Men fought?", (or was that this episode?  I can't remember) he was referring to Nimrod, not Bastian (or the part of Bastian that is Nimrod, I guess).  So he's not time traveling, he just has memories (or visions) of the future.   Thanks for the clarity!  Wish the show had done a better job of explaining that.

Good point about different cultures. Many cultures the kids don’t move out and eventually take care of their parents.

I wasn't making a point about different cultures.  The point I was making was that Sunny was bringing up generational wealth and economic disparity between black and white people in the US, while completely ignoring everyone else.  And what Sunny was talking about wasn't even on point for the conversation.  The topic was, how much financial support should you give your adult children, not the socio-economic makeup of the US.

That has to be the dumbest super villain plan I've ever heard. It's not that I'm saying that it isn't consistent in universe and that some of those villains wouldn't come up with a plan like that. Just that it's extremely dumb.

Yeah, I found Bastion very underwhelming as a villain.  His voice actor to me just does not fit with the show.  Everyone else either has an over the top accent (Rogue, Gambit, Nightcrawler), a very stately voice (Cyclops, Storm, Magneto) or a very charactery voice (Wolverine, Beast).  Bastion just sounds like some guy.  And I'm confused about his backstory and timeline.  So he was born about 35-40 years ago but is part sentinel and can hear machines but also has visions of the future.  Can he time travel or does he just live a long time because he's part machine?  Because Cable knows him in his time period, right?  And is he doing all this because he had a vision about it?  Or did he travel back from the future to do all this?  It's all just very unclear.

I'd say this show peaked for me with episode five.  I'm still watching it but they're going through the plotlines way too fast.  It's revealed that Madeline's a clone, then two episodes later she's dead.  Storm loses her powers, then gets them back almost immediately (though is still missing in action, for some reason).  The only plotline that's really been given the entire season to develop is Sunspot's and I just do not care about him.

  9. Okay, so, the "Should you financially support your adult children?" conversation got off track so fast.  Yes, Joy, we know.  You don't like Trump.  I don't either, but I don't feel the need to bring him up in every conversation.  Sunny made it about race for some reason, though (per usual) only mentioned black and white people, as if other races don't exist, which in this case is really odd since the racial group with the highest average income in the US is Asian people.  And then everyone else got about one sentence in before they cut to commercial.  Like, how hard would it be for them to just state things such as, "I support my kids through college, then they're on their own" or "I would let my adult child move back in with my, but on the condition that they have some form of job and pay rent".

Of course the handsome, ethical come from behind candidate is a manipulative creep who will probably win the nomination.

I had to rewatch that scene about three times to finally get what they were going for, because yes, I assume all politicians have some kind of agenda and are looking for an angle with the press, so I'm not sure it was the shocking reveal they were hoping for.

That being said, I enjoy this show.  Yes, there are way too many personal plotlines and they're moving through them way too quickly.  And yes, none of the political intrigue storyline are all that intriguing.  But the cast is likeable and really trying, so I'm going to stick with it until its probable cancelation a few weeks after this season's finale.

Plus, I've loved Scott Foley since I was sixteen and he was on Felicity, so as long as he's on it, I'll watch.

No.  I saw the trailer the other week on YouTube and the plot is that during her daughter's destination wedding, Brooke Shields discovers that the father of the groom is her ex-boyfriend from college.  Hijinks ensue, most likely ending in a double wedding, if I had to guess.

  13. Well, that was a disappointment.  Especially after the high that was episode 5.

So how exactly did Storm get her powers back?  She just willed it?  What was the point of her losing her powers in the first place?  It had absolutely no effect on anything story wise or character wise.  I guess it took her out of commission when they were fighting the Goblin Queen but they could have done that with her watching over Jean or something.  Really, the entire storyline just seemed rushed and unnecessary.

And Xavier's plan to win over the Shi'ar council (or whatever it's called) is to trap them in a classroom in their minds and lecture them?  Sure.  That doesn't seem annoying at all.

My Disney+ says it's 14+. I think it should be fine for 12+.

You're right.  Imdb (where I checked the rating originally) incorrectly lists it as being tv-pg but there was an article today on MSN about why the show is tv-14.  So now I feel much better about the ratings system.

I guess I'll sit at my table for one preferring the original animation.

I'll be at the table with you.  This new animation is just the next level of Archer.  Sometimes it's fine and sometimes it's super clunky and I hate it.  In my opinion, the best it's looked so far was in the Genosha massacre.

My original intention with this show was the wait until the entire season came out and see how the overall reaction was to it and then decide if I wanted to watch it or not.  But the internet is going to internet and spoilery thumbnails and clickbait headlines started appearing everywhere (and I'm not even a social media person.  I just do youtube and that's it), so I figured I should probably just watch it now.  I think it's fine.  They're moving through the plotlines at breakneck speed so save for the episode 5, nothing really feels as earned or as epic as it should be.  I hate the Rogue/Magneto storyline, so hopefully now that's over and when they go back in time and fix everything, they just forget that ever happened.

I like Jubilee but I could have done without half an episode being devoted to her and Sunspot (who I do not care about, at all) having a video game adventure.  Would have rather that they devoted the entire episode to Storm and Forge because Forge busting out with that he loved Storm seemed to come out of nowhere.  It seemed as if they'd only been hanging out for like two days but with his big confession and all, I guess it was supposed to be long.  A month, maybe?

Does anyone know if streaming services get to make their own ratings?  Because I do not understand how episode 3 could be considered PG.  There is no way I'd let my kids watch that (they're elementary/preschool age) with all the horror elements, nudity, sexual innuendo.  This is obviously aimed at adult fans of the original show, so just make it tv-14 and be done with it.

For all my nitpicking, I am enjoying this and from what I've read, episode 5 is where things were supposed to pick up (mission accomplished!), so if the rest of the season keeps the same energy, then I think I'll overall be happy with it.

And even though I suspected the Gambit death was coming, I still cried because darn it all, that was sad.

  16. I did something similar to the writing angry notes and shredding them thing.  About a decade about, I realized that I was getting hung up on a lot of negativity (both past and present) so what I started doing was any time I had a negative thought, I would write it down and put it in a jar.  At the end of the week, I would take the notes in the jar and burn them.  What happened was that just by having to write down and acknowledge the negative thoughts, it made me self correct and purposely redirect myself.  After awhile, I stopped writing most of them down and would just self re-direct myself, saving the writing down for only when I was really upset about something.  I only did it for a few months because after that amount of time, I wasn't having very many negative/angry thoughts and didn't need it anymore.  Should probably start doing it again since I've been under a lot of stress lately and could use a positivity boost.

  17. For me personally, I don't like when celebrities endorse politicians because it reeks of self importance.  Most people out in the world don't announce who they're voting for (unless they're the type who bring politics into everything and those people are insufferable), so why do celebrities think their opinions matter so much?  You want to privately donate to a campaign, go for it but when a celebrity feels the need to announce who they're voting for, even when it's a candidate I also support, it just makes me roll my eyes.

Also, I find it ironic that they're discussing how famous people should be politically active when part of what got Trump elected was this cult of celebrity worship that the country finds itself in.  Like, maybe we don't look to celebrities when it comes to how to run the country?  Just a thought...

The "I know Bernice," name-dropping was ineffectual showing off.

I'm sure the author would have gotten criticized for it, but when Sunny brought up Bernice King, I wished he had said, "So what?"  Bernice was five when her father was murdered.  It's not as if she was his contemporary.  If Sunny disagrees with his interpretation of what MLK said, then she should state her opinion, not drag someone else into it.

Honestly, the only thing the guy really said was that ideally, people should be judged on their character, not skin color and that it's better to concentrate on helping people based on their socio economic status, rather than race.  Then Sunny went off on her tangent so I have no idea if he has any actual controversial opinions, since we barely got to hear him speak.  I now feel that I should read his book to see what all the hubbub is about (which I'm sure is not the result Sunny was hoping to inspire, but that's what happens when you don't let your guest actually get their thoughts/opinions out).

  20. So on the subject of Princess Kate, Alyssa and Ana actually seem remorseful.  Sunny and Sarah...not so much.  How are you going to blame your co-hosts and the royal family's PR for the fact that you're middle aged women that acted like teenagers?  I'm appalled.

And Christy Carlson Romano is a bit delusional (former child star who got the boob job).  She has a youtube channel which I stumbled upon randomly about a year ago, where she talks about her Disney days and interviews fellow former child stars.  Poor thing thinks she's way more famous than she was (she played the sister on Even Stevens, the show that made Shia LaBeouf famous).  She had an entire video where she talked about Anne Hathaway and how people used to compare them and bring their names up in the same sentences and as I'm watching it, all I could think was, "Oh, sweetie..."  Also, I'm pretty sure she's estranged from her family, so I don't know that her mother was the best advice giver...

Whoopi’s skepticism over the Princess Kate mystery becomes increasingly annoying. First of all she’s absolutely wrong about Americans being far more interested in the story than the British. Not true at all. On the extremely popular radio call-in network LBC this story is often the subject of discussion. The only thing different is that conspiracy theories aren’t allowed due to libel laws.

So now that it's come out that Princess Kate has cancer, I wonder if anyone on the panel is going to feel like a jackass for going on about the ridiculous conspiracy theories?

I fast forwarded through 20 minutes of it, how much can you rehash this already?

I can't believe after the whole season we got no true 'update' on Chelsea and Jimmy (who is no great 'catch' in my eyes anyway,  not much personality but yeah Chelsea was WAYYY too clingy and out there. 'tell me every minute how much yo love me, never leave me for an hour...)..

I saw a video on YouTube earlier this week (Queen E), where she cited an interview in which Chelsea said that the show gave her a bad edit and that Jimmy was going out basically every night (not just the one we saw) and was texting those two gal pals of his all day, every day.  Also, on one of the nights, he told her he was crashing at his place since he was tired but then he butt dialed her and she overheard him talking to all his friends as they were heading out for the night.  So if that's all true, then Chelsea isn't as unstable as the show made her seem.

I'll see if I can find the video again and link it.

Although Ana wasn't on the show today to weigh in, Sunny and Whoopi both admitted to using the drugs. In Sunny's case she used it to get off 40 extra pounds that she put on from self-admittedly eating everything in sight during Covid lockdown. I generally like Sunny but I feel like it was a bad look for her to defend this when so many people like you are facing shortages of these drugs for their actual prescribed use.

There's a lot of things that you hear about uber rich people doing that I can handwave away as "if you an afford it, whatever makes you happy" but this entire Ozempic (and related drugs) thing makes me sick.  I was pregnant in 2020 and due to the gyms all being shut down, I gained way more weight than I had during my previous two pregnancies.  Post birth, I was 200 pounds.  Since then, I have been on a weight loss journey for the past three years that has included working out, eating healthier, eating less and not eating late.  I am now down to 155, with fifteen pounds to go until I hit my goal weight.  Has it been easy?  Hell, no.  But it is doable if you actually buckle down, do it and give yourself a lot of grace, knowing that it isn't going to be a quick process.  The fact that people cannot get the meds they need to live or manage an actual health condition because people that can afford personal trainers and chefs want to lose weight quickly instead of putting in any actual work is disgusting.  I honestly don't get how any of these people can live with themselves.  There have been multiple stories about this for a year now, so it's not as if they're unaware of what they're doing.

Good point. If Production really cared about protecting this woman's reputation, they would have respected Jimmy's wishes and edited it out. Beyond the fact that it might be slightly embarrassing for Jimmy's friend, is there something more serious at stake? Was this woman married when they slept together? Or were they working together or something?

I could see it being very awkward if the rest of their friend group didn't know.  Also, depending on how close of friends they are, maybe they go to get togethers with each others families.  I can see that being very awkward as well.  I think people forget that while there are people who like to put all their business out there for the world to see, there are plenty of people who are private and don't want details from their sex life broadcasted.

The Trevor situation was extremely painful to watch.  I don't know what the producers told him before inviting him to the reunion show, but the fact that he wasn't invited at stage at the beginning ("Trevor countdown: 29 minutes") probably should have been a red flag.  Did they tell him ahead of time that they had his text messages?  How did they get his text messages?  Did he share them?  It sounds like he had a planned response, and then in the heat of the moment, in front of everybody, he couldn't execute his planned response, and so just sat there very awkwardly and admitted he was horrible.

I didn't find that much fun to watch, obviously.

The producers probably could have just skipped having Trevor on the reunion show, and spared everybody the torture.

They had the texts because his ex-girlfriend posted them.  Apparently he broke up with her around the time the show started to air, so she posted them so that people would know what a creep he was.  And there were way more messages than what they showed on the reunion.  He talks about how he's probably going to get a great edit, come off as such a great guy, etc.  Also, the show left out that according to the ex-girlfriend, Trevor threatened to show her minor son a sex tape of her if she ratted him out.  He's trash and I don't feel sorry for him in the slightest.
