  1. What a weird and disjointed episode.  Tony Danza is too old to play an active duty cop, Joe's story didn't make any sense, the rapist was the first guy Eddie bumps into, and why were Danny and Baez at a TV show taping together??

  2. Quote

It follows an ambitious but uncompromising journalist who starts receiving tomorrow’s newspaper today and finds herself in the complicated business of changing the news instead of reporting it.

So basically, she's just like all the other "journalists".  🙄

ETA: The pacing of this episode was weird.

Yes it was and my local station's commercial break timing was out of whack so some scenes were truncated.  I guess we'll get re-runs for a couple of weeks due to the Olympics.  😒

I could've sworn Jamie's captain griped at him about how now that he knew Jamie was prepping for the lieutenant's exam, it wasn't surprising that Jamie would dig up something like this and want to implement it.

The captain did say that.  I'm pretty sure Jamie had heard about the impersonator infiltrating the precincts and he thought enforcing an obscure rule would be a quick way to ferret out anybody that wasn't supposed to be in the 2-9.  If he had told everybody why he was doing it, it may not have worked because the impersonator may have an helper on the inside.  The story could have been fleshed out better, the show made it look really easy to walk into a police station and pretend to be an officer.  Wouldn't the on duty sergeant/lieutenant/captain know to expect new officers in advance?  Plus they do roll call, right?  The way it was portrayed was really farfetched.

I wasn't sure why Frank had a problem with what the podcast guy was saying. He has always supported his officers, or I thought he did.

I agree.  The show wimped out on that story.  I get that nobody wants their words twisted, but I want to know what the podcaster said that Frank disagreed with.  Making the guy out to be a phony was a copout by the writers.

  6. Erin's story felt like fan service. I kinda like Erin, but viewers complain that she's an icy bitch with no personality so they wrote that into the show.

The Jamie and Eddie story just illustrated how ridiculous it is to have Jamie working as her supervisor.

The Frank story was also stupid because they wimped out on it by making the guy a phony. It would have been more interesting if he had been the real deal. He could have put Frank on the spot about which part of his message Frank disagreed with?

Anthony getting more screen time is always good, but the case wasn't that interesting.

My point is that it’s not unusual for a law enforcement position to have harsher penalties for certain non-criminal conduct than most other jobs in the real world.

Maybe.......but if we were supposed to think the guy deserved a demotion, the transgression should have been something worse.

  8. I watched this episode again and the new member of Frank's circle comes across even worse the second time around.  Would anybody in the real world get demoted for spending a couple hours in the drunk tank at an out of town bachelor party when NO charges were filed?  Would an employer even find out about it?

I haven't seen every episode this season but the ones I've seen would be aptly renamed The MeeMaw and George Show,  Reading the comments for last weeks episode it does seem like Mary had a larger role but for the most part this season she's had a scene or two, maybe a line or two and that's been it.  I don't know if this is a deliberate choice on the actress's part or not or maybe it's what happens with a large cast and an (it feels like) 20 minute or less show!

Is Zoe Perry pregnant or a new mom?  That might be why she's MIA?

Not sure why, since Henry was doing a wrong thing, and Eddie was concerned for him

Because I don't like Eddie!  Besides I don't think Henry did anything "wrong.". He stopped a robbery in progress, no one got hurt, and some one called the cops.  Henry did put himself in danger; but it's not his first rodeo.

Who did Eddie think she was trying to order Henry around? Loved him telling her how it is and will be.

This was the first time I ever liked Henry!  🤣

That is the first time I have heard him recognize what a good officer and person Jamie is

He's done it several times before.

Relating to that upcoming movie, did anyone else hear that Aaron Sorkin apparently thinks this show wouldn’t be considered funny today?!

If that's what he thinks, why did he make this movie?  The show is still funny.  The fact that there is activity on this message board 70 years later proves it.

He hasn’t left the show. Just reduced his appearances. We’ll see Gibbs again. That’s what the show runner or someone said after his “last” appearance-that we haven’t seen the last of Gibbs.

I totally expect to see him again, I just think it's odd that he still gets top billing.
