  1. Yesterday I stopped by my Mom's (it was a few minutes before B&B time).  She wasn't ready so I knocked on her neighbor's door to say hi (she's 85 and I knew she'd be watching).  She was an agent for some actors who were on Y&R in the 80's.  I told Mom I'll be watching with her.  Well, we were howling.  She's yelling at the tv like a true fan.  "You could get a heart attack from this show! What is wrong with these writers"?  Mom comes over and sits down.  At a commercial she said "if there's a knock on the door, it will be the men in white coats".

Yep, especially since IMO he seemed so ambivalent about the role from the very beginning. Given the state of daytime soaps I'm sure he's realized he's lucky to be employed, not to mention in a front-burner legacy role. (Also, before AMC was cancelled he mentioned in an interview that YR had tried to hire him and he turned them down. No more looking a gift horse in the mouth...)

I don't think he really wanted to be paired with actresses close to his age. Plus, note that we rarely see Ridge doing any fashion designing any more. I suspect TK considered that activity less than masculine and his prior soap roles had generally been manly men, if you catch my drift. There was something rather pointed about how slovenly he was letting himself look, I think. It was clear he was not going to be anything remotely like the RM version of Ridge.

He's cleaned up his act a bit I guess, and his Ridge and Brooke are sorta believable. I'll be surprised though if Ridge and Brooke don't break up over the Beth reveal and Ridge then makes a run at Sally or Flo.

I've also often wondered if CBS/B&B thought by hiring him they could pull some of the old ABC soap audience who were fans of his from AMC and OLTL. For a while there Ridge really seemed to be turning into be a B&B version of Zach Slater but the show seems to have dialed that back a lot.

I get it, he was bringing his fan base with him.  I had never seen him before.  I looked him up on YT in a Port Charles clip.  I didn't get how they could go from frankenRidge (a pet name) to this one.  Now I see he was on AMC forever but I had stopped watching it in 1990.  So they have Bridge pawing each other because they will always have hot sex even if they hate each other's kids.  What bothers me most is that he line reads (much like Steffy).  All that flat acting bugs me.  Take a lesson from Heather Tom, she emotes when required.

I'm not sure Brad Bell really understands what villain means.  Soaps used to have good, bad, nice, mean, etc. characters, and the villains were usually short term REALLY BAD GUYS.  Now all the characters just seemed to be lumped together, and anyone can do anything they want, and it will be forgotten (by the writers) when they move onto the next SL.

They could have had Thomas be a playboy like Ridge, or Tad the Cad on AMC, or Ned on GH.  Have Thomas have a consensual affair with Caroline (no "misunderstanding") that resulted in Douglas and ruining Ridge and Caroline's marriage, and then have Thomas dump Caroline for Sally.  Then Thomas gets bored with Sally, and cheats on her with a model at FC, and Sally dumps Thomas.  Then when Thomas starts sniffing around Hope, Brooke has reason for concern because she doesn't want Hope to be the latest woman Thomas gets bored with and dumps or cheats on.

Currently, Thomas is a murderer which is way worse than being a selfish man-ho.

AMC and OLTL had some characters as police, DAs, etc., and they had SLs about that, but GH was the one who had most of the good spy/police SLs and they managed to involve people at the hospital with them.  That was when Robert Scorpio was the police commissioner, and the police were the good guys.  One of the best twists GH ever did was having Burt Ramsey, a good cop at one time, join the mob.  It was actually a surprise when Burt was revealed to be the mob's guy in the police department.

I stopped watching GH when Sonny, Jason, and Carly ate the show.  Prior to that we would try to figure out what exactly Sonny and Jason did as mobsters because there was a whole long lists of crimes they didn't engage in because - wait for it - they were the good criminals.  At this point, both Sonny and Jason have committed cold blooded murder, but they are still the good criminals.

Yes, the good criminals as opposed to father and son Zacchara's - far more interesting and layered.

Well, currently GH has Mac Scorpio as police commissioner and Robert Scorpio has just come aboard as DA (he went to law school way back when...who knew, right?😉 I don't care. I'll take it.) and Laura is the Mayor of PC. Fingers crossed they don't mess this up. hahaha. I crack myself up.🤪

Sadly this is still the case.😥

    (I still miss my AMC & OLTL.😢😭 )

B&B is just such a tight little world. Are these the only people who live in LA?🤔

They do have a decent enough villain in Quinn.  She can go head to head with all of them.  My darling RXS went to law school just like I did.    Good for them for doing something with the man that gives him some meaty and clever scenes.  Been waiting long enough Frank V.  Eyeroll.

And what is with the Dark Shadows music?

    1. I've been watching on and off since 2009. I might be missing some important details. Did Stephanie's lifetime hatred of Brooke only come from Brooke's involvement with Eric? (Then did she think that Brooke wasn't good enough for all her sons, etc. etc.)?  Thank you.
    2. Is Jack (the son of Nick and Brooke) being raised by Jack far far away or is he in boarding school?
  4. To make sure I'm not missing any of the subtleties (ho ho haha heehee) - Thomas wants

    Hope in lock down because:

    A. he really wants her to be Douglas' new mother

    B. he's really obsessed with her (putting himself first)

    C. He wants insta-family so he won't have to deal with being a single father.

There should be a special category award for Justin's emotional reaction today.

OMG!  So much shut up to go around today.

Yet another person who says Hope needs to know the truth right now.  So pick up the damn phone, and tell her.  While you are at it tell Liam and Steffy to because they also deserve to know the truth.  I realize it might be better to give this news in person, but these people aren't capable of doing that.  The brain dead morons can't even send a text.

Hope make up your damn mind.  Hope's waffling is getting almost as annoying as Liam's.  Beth's death isn't the reason Liam and Hope aren't together.  Hope is.  Hope is the one who bailed.

Thomas put up or shut up.  Please kill Emma, Xander, and Zoe today.  None of them can act, and I can't decide who is worse Emma or Zoe.  Wooden Xander is horrible, but he is still a better actor than those two idiots.  Kill Flo to.  One serial killer, four idiots.

JMW and KKL look horrible.  JMW has destroyed her face (why do women in Hollywood keep doing this?)

Even though that would be too tidy, I would like evilThomas to be a serial killer.  Kill 'em, all. Everyone in his path!  Every soap has a murder mystery.  Have one of those stories and enough with this "the girls, the girls" shitty story.

A whodunit is kind of pointless, when there are so many characters I couldn't careless about (whether they get killed or do the killing) getting written off the show.

Of the current cast, I would keep Bill, and bring back Bridget.

If they wanted to do a real umbrella SL, it would actually be easy because there aren't that many regular characters.

One of the best umbrella SLs I've ever seen was on General Hospital back in the 80s (Promentheus Disk) when soaps had much bigger casts, and when General Hospital was actually a good show.  The writers had Robert, Holly, Luke, Grant, Cecilia, the Quartermaines, Bobbi, Tiffany, the hospital staff, the WSB and DVX, etc., involved.  Or the treasure SL which added Sean Donnelly, Frisco and Felicia, and Anna to the group.

And if these writers want to see an on again/off again couple done right, they should check out Alan and Monica Quartermaine.  Alan gave Monica the Quartermaine Mansion as a wedding present.  Whenever they were on the outs, Monica would threaten to throw Alan and his family out because it was HER house to which Alan would reply, "Yeah, but I gave it to you."

Oh yes.  Just watch Prom Disk in full a couple of months ago.  Sink your teeth into story line.

So this version of Thomas is a maniacal, rapey serial killer type.  The previous versions could not have pulled it off.  Remember the Thomas that looked just like Ronn Moss? Stiff as a board, but cute.   The other younger son, RJ, was also very unappealing as was Rick. (I actually liked the Kurt Lowder Rick, he was such an F-up.  What gives with the crappy male offspring and the angelic female offspring?
