  1. I've been rooting for a David and Rashad final two for the past few weeks, but I'll admit even I was shocked as shhhh when they called Normani as third place. Congratulations to Rashad & Emma! They were deserving of it! Watching Emma's reaction was worth sticking through this very bland season. I was slightly disappointed though that they didn't hoist them up on their shoulders like they have for every other season.
  2. I zoned out a lot trying to keep up on reddit with what's going on over in England. What I did pay attention to was primarily the freestyles. Normani: Val probably just robbed them both of the mirrorball. What a meh freestyle. I wish the pros would stop going for these heartstring freestyle dances. As much skill as Normani possesses, she should have come out dancing to Run the World by Beyoncé or I Am Woman by Jordin Sparks. Bring the sass not the sad. David & Rashad's freestyles are what this round is all about for me. They showcased the best of the star in their "element" and were fun and eye catching. I give Lindsay so many props for the freestyles she has choreographed over the past few years. She deserves a ringer at some point. I think Emma will get her first mirrorball trophy tomorrow night. I personally don't care who wins at this point, I think anyone who makes it to the final show deserves to win. They all put in the work. I still think it would be the greatest upset of all time for David to win though. It would be great to watch the commentators on Facebook slowly lose their minds.
  3. Just read that ABC has ordered a spinoff of DWTS called DWTS: Juniors. Underage celebrities and the kids of celebrities dancing with champion underage ballroom dancers. Excuse me while I skip it.
  4. Mostly because he's the first MLB player on there, so they'll continue to make a big deal about it until the season is over. You basically have to wait for a baseball player to retire before he can come to do DWTS because baseball runs (spring training + the actual season + post season) almost all year round. So, they're just excited to have their first one on there. My kid is 13, never watched dwts before, and he's watched every David performance because he's an avid baseball fan and plays year round travel ball. DR is a bigger deal than most realize, which is why he's still sticking around. Popularity for dayzzzzz.
  5. Thoughts on tonight: Simone: it was pretty obvious last week with the criticism and scores that Simone was set up for a night of perfect scores and an exit. Which is exactly how it played out. Eyeroll. I'm not overly upset about it, mostly because I don't think she ever actually shined. Whether it was from her years as a gymnast or Sasha's coaching, she never really came out of her shell. Tonight was the closest to it, and of course it happened during her exit strategy. Normani: the music choices threw me off for both of her dances, but I think with her not very high for a semi final scores the stage may be set for a Rashad win. The only difference will be if this is actually Val's last season and they want him to go out as a back to back champion. Rashad: I still think he may break the internet by upsetting Normani in the final two. His dances tonight were decent, and he can definitely move. They weren't mind-blowing, but it basically helped wrap up the "meh" season this has been. Hopefully Emma will choreo a solid freestyle for him. David: I secretly hope he blows everyone's mind and creates the biggest upset in DWTS history by taking the mirror ball next week. Is the best dancer? Absolutely not. Should he win a dance competition? No. Do I want him to? Yes. He's such a gem, I can't help but root for him. Again this probably has to do with the "meh" season. Also it would be fun to watch all TPTB's manipulation over the season completely blow up in their faces. I'm sure the judges will low-ball him so badly next Monday he won't have a shot though. Lindsay has thrown together some incredible choreography through her pro years and I bet she'll bring her A-game for this freestyle. If nothing else, I give her so many props for getting David to this point. May we all say a prayer that the freestyles aren't as boring as they were last year. I cannot deal with another hour of sappy contemporary poor me dances this time around. Cheers to this trainwreck season almost being over with.
  6. The judges shocked faces from the news that Simone was voted off after literally setting her up to get voted off last week is the greatest thing I've witnessed in awhile.
  7. First, shout out to Len for bringing the sass and finally laying the truth on the table for Bonner. We've all been thinking it, finally Len said it. All I could hear was my elementary Super Nintendo saying finish him while playing Mortal Kombat. Between Bonner's Hannibal outburst in the first rehearsal footage to his creep master creep towards the trio situation in the second footage, I won't miss him. He's always given me an ew gross vibe. Second, shout out to Tom for getting on the judges table and dancing before the commercial break. I will be saving that gif to use during any occasion I can possibly find. Now for the contestants: Normani - I loved her first dance, and the message it sent for the young girls out there watching her. I know cyber bullying is a big problem in the teen crowd these days, so I thought it was a great and positive message to put out there. I still think she'll win the whole thing. Rashad - the guy can move, and deserves to be in the finals. I think he's losing a bit of his zest that caught my attention early on in the season, but I still wouldn't mind it if he won the whole thing. Simone - I honestly wouldn't be upset if she goes next week. I find myself completely tuning out when she's on screen. Gymnast overload. David - I don't even care that he's not the greatest dancer of all time, I just love him. He seems like the most genuinely adorable man, and he's someone I find myself rooting for. I give so many props to Lindsey for always bringing out the best in her partners. She deserves a ringer. Also, did anyone else notice that as soon as Bonner and Sharna walked down to the stage to do their farewell, David immediately went and congratulated all of the other contestants and shook their hands. What a doll. Here's to possibly a very dull finale, cheers y'all.
  8. Seriously, whoever is voting for Bonner please stop.
  9. I watched her on Ellen and she is definitely sheltered and immature. She's 20 and said she wants to move out if her parents will let her. You can tell she's spent her entire life in a gym. Or the producers don't want an all female finale so they were thinning the herd.
  10. I've watched every season of this show, way back to season 1 and I can genuinely say this is the first time I've been turned off enough by an elimination to consider skipping the rest of the season. Heather was completely robbed. Bonner should have gone home, 100%. His rumba and his visible parts in the group dance showcased how weak of a dancer he is. It's complete bs.
  11. Rashad: I wasn't a huge fan of this one, and I know the majority of the problems were in the music choice, but he looked lost the majority of the dance to me. Still love him though. Nick: adorable. Peta should tap into more of these fun loving dances, I mean it's working for David. Erika: too bad Gleb waited until the night she was eliminated to do an actual dance that didn't focus solely on sex. I won't miss her though. Heather: she can only do what she's given. Tired of CA's schtick of acting like she choreographs the dances. If she did "too much" of her natural jazz nonsense they would've berated her for it. I haven't rooted for her yet, but now I'm officially team Heather. I thought she played the part of Anna perfectly. Normani: hands down my favorite of the night. Thought it was brilliant. David: finally showed that he's not the greatest dancer. He's still adorable though. Nancy: beautiful. She could end up being the dark horse. Bonner: still can't get behind him, still believe he's being overscored. I love Sharna, but he's so stiff and awkward I can't deal. Simone: still seems awkward to me. Something in her dance moves, could be all her gymnastics training, just seems off to me. The girl who voices Moana has an incredible voice though. Extra notes: CA gets more and more annoying with each episode as she pretends she is a ballroom expert. C'mon we all know you were a fly-girl JLo 2.0.
  12. Rashad got me good, made me cry. Best of the night.
  13. Week 3 thoughts: I thought this was the first week to really show us what the contestants were made of. No major drama or added showmances and over the top reactions from Charo or the rich lady. Thought everyone's flaws were put on display tonight too. David: was probably the most hilarious dance I've ever witnessed on this show. It was such a feel-good, put a smile on your face, kinda dance. When he ripped his shirt open to the tshirt of abs, I laughed out loud. I thought it was great, and memorable, he's just super charming. I also love his dedication. Rashad: he continues to impress me. I appreciate how disciplined he is and the dedication he has to growing each week. He seems natural when he's out there, which is always refreshing. Mr. T: he's not exactly a dancer, but I love his personality and how much he enjoys being there and wants to get better. I still think he'll stick around for a bit. Nick & Bonner: either one can go home soon. I think Nick shows more promise than Bonner, and Nick seems to have more personality. Still, either one can go home next week and I wouldn't be upset. They're both forgettable for me. Normani: she's probably my favorite female right now. The fact that she flies in for the show and never complains, or uses it as an excuse makes me appreciate her so much more. She's a great dancer as well. I enjoyed this dance probably the most out of her previous performances. Nancy: I think she was the most surprising of the night, girl can mooooove! Simone: I just can't get behind her. I know she'll make it to the finals, but she just doesn't keep my attention during her dances. Charo: it's a shame she was acting like such a mess the past two weeks, because I loved her last night. She danced really well, I thought, and I appreciated her more subtle attitude. And also that she made sure to tell the judges she didn't mean to be offensive (or something along those lines). Not sure if she got voted off or the producers were getting too many complaints from everyone that works there. Either way, at least she went out (sorta) with some grace. See ya in the parking lot! Heather: lovely dance, but much like Simone, I sorta zone out when she's on the stage. Erika: she seemed less look at me I married a 907 year old man and have lots of money now last night, but I still hope she goes home next week. Although Carrie Ann and her lift police is still super annoying to me. The Houghs: loved there dance and was once again reminded how much I wish Julianne would go back to being a pro.
  14. Wish this board was open during the live airing. I love reading everyone's salty shade in real time. My week 2 thoughts: Nancy: she is decent, but needs to get her confidence going so she can open up on the dance floor. Real Housewife: incredibly annoying. Charo: needs to calm her nipples. I get she's hyped, but constantly dogging on Bruno, I can't get down with that. Keo deserves an award just for putting up with her. The bachelor: meh. I neither love nor hate him at this point. Pretty forgettable. Glee girl: I will never understand why judges rip contestants apart for choreography. Hope Maks is back soon because I would've loved to hear the salt he threw around when Len was talking. She's still forgettable for me though. Bonner: I'm not a fan of when they push the "relationshits" with the casual cuts to the hand holding. I don't need all of that please vote for us because we're in love nonsense, but I like him. He seems like a sweet guy. Maybe I just like his grandma. Simone: I just can't root for a gymnast to win again this season. Chris: byeeeeeee. Normani: not going to lie, I like her. I think she will go pretty far if all that travel doesn't destroy her first. Rashad: slowly becoming my favorite. He has the sweetest personality and seems completely humble. He's one of the only people this season that keeps my attention when he dances. Mr. T: I feel like Kim just stole that routine from Mark's catalog. I like him though, he puts a lot of effort in and you can tell he wants it. David: I love his personality, and hope he stays on just to spread some positive light around. I can't give Lindsey enough credit, she's really great at choreographing to her partner. I just find him charming and adorable. Also, Len needs to get laid.
  15. I hope they tone down the showmance of Sharna and Bonner. We get it they're both hot and single, but that's not what I'm here for. I feel bad for Witney, I still feel like she peaked too early as a pro with Alfonso. Lindsey doesn't get enough credit for how well she does with her partners. She's never had a truly outstanding celeb before, but she still makes them shine in their own way every season. I'm over the olympics coming in and stealing the show so my brain sort of shut off for those two. I thought the 5th harmony girl didn't get enough praise for doing a quickstep as the first contest on the first episode. I liked her, the baseball players attitude, Rashad's smile and Mr T was adorable. Charo was terrifying.
