But that's too pragmatic for these fools - all they want to consider is things like - aawww but look how close Trace is with Jeb who is 14 years younger. Uh yeah Trace takes him out to ice cream/an activity a few times a yr, and does a yearly social media post. But in what universe are they peers? When Trace wanted to play basketball or ride horses or whatever he had Law and Nathan and then his barber friend Jonas, and also made a bunch of guy friends at 18 in college. He wasn't looking for his 4 year old brother to play with him.

I read that as gay friends, and I was all, WTF?

The fact that their actions, or lack thereof, are clearly in defiance of US law and that the entire family has literally been given decades to get this ironed out; is beyond their comprehension, IMO.

In this case, beyond their comprehension might be the absolute truth. I know almost nothing about Hannelore Romeike, but we know Kelly Bates is a dingbat and hypocrite with no common sense, and she homeschooled Ferret. He really might not be able to understand what he is being told. I would bet that is nearly the case for Lydia, too.

I Googled to see if I could find out anything about Hannelore and Uwe's own education. I found a 2010 New York Times article about their asylum ruling, which of course was later overturned. The Romeikes are idiots who have also been used by the HSLDA. From the article:

    Quote

they set out to find an alternative to the local public school in Germany, where their two oldest children — now 11 and 12 — were having trouble with rowdy classmates. The nearby private and religious schools, Mr. Romeike said, were just as bad or even worse.

    Quote

Long before the Romeikes had begun their fight, lawyers at the association had been discussing the situation in Germany. They had tried litigating cases one by one, usually unsuccessfully.

In 2006, after the European Court of Human Rights declined to hear a petition by home-schooling parents that had failed in German courts, lawyers at the association decided to add a political line of attack to the legal one, both to raise awareness of the German policies and to find some broader solution to the issue.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/01/us/01homeschool.html

Another telltale quote from the article:

    Quote

“We’re all surprised because we consider the German educational system as very excellent,” said Lutz Hermann Görgens, the German consul general in Atlanta. He defended Germany’s policy on the grounds of fostering the ability “to peacefully interact with different values and different religions.”

(Bolding mine.) That's exactly what the Romeikes don't want.

The article said that a German homeschooling family had moved to Tennessee before the Romeikes did. Gee, we don't hear about them. I wonder if they immigrated the legal way.

So I don't usually watch Alyssa's videos but turned out Zoey had like 3 days where she was complaining of heart racing. Alyssa's solution is to put an Apple watch on the kid, do ECGs via Apple watch, and do her own "research" - kid's heart rate gets up to the 160s-190s a few times. So Alyssa calls to make an appt with her own cardiologist who is a pediatric cardiologist and they'll see the kid on Monday. But I guess Friday/Sat A&J decide that's too long so they take her to the ER. Rhett has to come of course.

Zoey isn't acting uncomfortable in any way - I mean the kid is BEAMING at the hospital, talking about how much she loves it there, wants to live at the hospital. John meanwhile can't stop looking at and talking to his little buddy Rhett . . . .

So hospital says she's fine to leave but they have to see a cardiologist. Off to the cardiologist who does the required testing, finds nothing, gives them signals they need to watch for. John brushes it off as "there was more detail there, but she's fine." Alyssa later explains the cardiologist thought she experienced something normal like a skipped beat or a hard heart beat and it scared her so then her heart started racing because of that, combine that with 3 days of Alyssa asking how she felt, letting her wear the watch, taking EKGs, the kid became more aware/freaked out about her heart.

Interesting to watch A&J brush this off as - it was for attention . . . . And then of course the video ends with Alyssa going on about how RHETT needed more cuddles. UH???

I get it - she's 5, weird things happen, kids say weird things. But something is going on that scared your kid and/or made your kid feel like - saying that their heart hurt - was the only way to get mom/dad's attention, maybe be more attentive TO THAT KID?? But alas attention in that video shifted every 2 seconds back to RHETT. Zoey even says at one point when her heart feels bad, she wants to come downstairs and play with Rhett -- I mean that sounds like code for -- I am 5 and need mommy and know mommy is with Rhett, so let me go be near Rhett!?

IDK Zoey's personality but I wonder if she's the kid lost in the shuffle. My spidey sense tells me Allie and Lexie get a lot of negative attention - for not doing chores right, not helping their sisters etc. Maci is 2.5 and seems like she has zero effs to give about a new baby, she still demands attention/is needy; I mean at the cardiologist's office she is walking around with a pacifier and Alyssa asks why she needs a paci and kid straight up goes "I don't feel good." I mean if she was a teen she would've followed that up with - eff off. And we all know Rhett lacks for nothing. Wonder if Zoey is the one getting kind of ignored here.

I feel so sorry for the Webster girls. They deserve better than John and Alyssa.

  4. According to Expedia, the cheapest one-way plane tickets from Knoxville to Munich (I chose a city at random) on October 4 are $1498.20 apiece. That's with checking two bags each. (I chose this option because the slightly cheaper one had only five seats left, and the cheapest option did not show airline or time details). So with two kids, seven adults, and maybe a baby in Lydia's lap, that's $13,483.80. Who's paying that? Will the HSLDA-whatever pony up for a lost cause?

My aunt was stationed in Germany in the Air Force when she had her youngest. She came home when he was a month old, and she said the flight home was really unpleasant because he threw up on her at each takeoff and landing. Good luck, Lydia -- and whoever is in your vicinity.

  5. I wish the deportation would hurry up and happen just so that the hypocrites would shut up and stop whining. This means you, Romeikes and Bateses. Kelly will move on to the next thing -- probably the next wedding or baby -- as soon as the Romeikes are airborne.

Schadenfreude isn't exactly what I'm feeling now. I don't care enough about them to feel joy. I need a similar word, though -- anybody know where I can find a few German speakers to help me out?

How old is their kid? Days? Weeks? Bc Lydia has an IG saying that they had to take him to the ER 2 nights ago bc he had a cold and his O2 levels were dropping!? Do they have an O2 monitor at home? He tested negative for Covid/RSV so it's just a cold but she talks about how it was scary. And yet when he was born we saw pics of him w G&K, her parents, 3-4 members of her family, Michael, Bobby & Tori, Carlin & Layla, Josie, their barber and his wife, Isaiah, Addie, Callie, Jeb, and this weekend - Lawson who I believe has just gotten off a flight from Cali.

HELLO??? I know Covid is over blah blah but it very much isn't. Even if you personally don't care/think Covid is NBD, wouldn't you protect a newborn from whatever is going around - colds, Covid, RSV. I'm thinking handing him around to at minimum of 20 people in whatever days/weeks he's been out of the womb may not be the way to go here.

My first thought was that they're gearing up for an "excuse" for her to not be deported. "But oh, my child was so sick two weeks ago, we had to take him to the ER! Oh, you mean you saw the social media posts of him being slobbered on by 697 relatives and 14 passersby? Oops."

Second thought was these people are stupid and they think their child's health is not important because they can just have another one. These morons are quantity over quality.

Their kids were never “taken” by the authorities in Germany.  They’re liars.

Much less at gunpoint. Everything is so performative with these dipshits.

I've since read that the statute of limitations on the fines ran out around 2015. If that's the case, I'm disappointed. These bible-beating liars deserve to have to pay the fines.

He has been all day, according to Reddit 😆. They’re both getting hammered.

Quoted on Reddit: "They owed $9,000 USD in fines when they left Germany." I wonder if those fines are still in force, and if so, whether they have anything at all to do with the Romeikes not wanting to go home.

Speaking of which, what's going to happen to poor Maui? I can't imagine Trace is going to want to go through the headache of getting the proper health certificate so Maui can travel (not to mention pay the fees), so I imagine he'll be left behind. I pray they at least contact a reputable rescue and don't give him to the Bates. Maui is deaf and can't be an outdoor cat, and Kelly has previously said she doesn't like animals in the house.

She should have thought about that before she had 267 kids.

I was thinking the same thing. Trace keeps Ryker and takes custody of the two younger girls. Addee and Ellie can rotate helping to care for them. Of course Trace would need to move.

Or maybe the looking-for-content Stewarts can take the four in. Imagine the click$ they would get.

My snark mind was thinking earlier that Carlin must be beside herself at all the attention Lydia and Ferret are getting, and maybe she'd try to deport herself (somewhere) so she could get some, too.

If they don’t, they might be forcibly deported.

I don’t. The kids will all be better off in the long run in a country with excellent universal healthcare, excellent education, including free universities, no gun violence, and safer communities overall. Of course it will take them a while to adapt though.

I feel sorry for them only because it will be frightening and unsettling for kids who don't remember Germany or have never been there. These people are brainwashed, and sheltered to an unnatural extent. They probably think that Germany is full of baby-eating sinners who are just waiting to turn them into atheists.

I really wouldn't be surprised if they sought sanctuary at a bible-beating church pastored by some of their friends -- Gil's or David Waller's churches, or whatever den of sanctimony the Romeikes attend.

So what if Trace did decide to go to Germany if Lydia is deported and they have other babies while there? Because we know they aren't going to put the brakes on the Baby Train. Wouldn't those babies be German citizens and then the same issue starts all over again?

They'd have dual citizenship as the child of a US citizen. I have cousins who were born overseas (one in Germany -- his mom was in the Air Force), and they were all US citizens at birth.

The immigration officials I talked to today explained that deferred status instills a false sense of security. More than likely there have been clues that this was coming and they chose to ignore them or didn't understand them.

Or they outright thought their white, special-Christian status would save them. Well, it's worked for awhile already.

Do you know if there are ways for the persecuted ones to put this through the US court system again? Meaning, are there legal ways for them to again postpone deportation?

People were saying she was a parent of one of the Holts, but it seems she is coming forward and saying that is not true and is wanting to speak.  I'm not on Reddit, Instagram or Free Jinger.  Is anyone hearing anything?  Allegedly, she wants to add details to what Jill had to say in her book.

I always thought "Alice" was a younger person, maybe a friend of one of the Holt kids. According to Reddit, though, "Alice" was Bobye Holt's mother and is now deceased.

WTF wouldn't an adult, especially an older one, speak out (to CPS!) instead of writing a letter that she didn't send but instead stuffed in a book?! That's why I think she must have been a teenager.

Heathen, she cannot become a citizen just because she married Trace.  They are illegals, coming from Germany because Germany does not allow homeschooling. Germany is smart to outlaw homeschooling.  Look at the Bates, Duggars, etc.  Talk about a bunch of ignorant people who think the world should revolve around them. They do not qualify for asylum and they are to be deported.    It is my understanding that ALL of them will be deported.  Guess Trace better start learning German.  Remember that Trace was also a part of the Jan. 6 deal in DC.

I didn't ask if she could become a citizen because she's married to one. I asked if she could be deported even though she is the mother of a US citizen.

When TLC families shop at stores on their shows, they get things for free. JimBoob must've loved the free food for his brood.

I wonder if he reported it on his taxes?*

*Disclaimer before someone starts yapping at me: I have no idea if TLC buying food/furniture/houses for his family should be or is reported. I do know that when my employer gives any kind of "gift" bonus -- usually gift cards -- it's a line item on my payslip as a type of income.

  17. Since we're on the topic, what happens if the Romeikes are deported? Would Lydia have to go even though she's now the mother of a US citizen? What about her US-born siblings?

I live in an area with a large refugee population - Afghanis, Iraqis, Chaldeans, Syrians, Bosnians, Croatians, and more. The attention-whoring Romeikes don't compare. The mean-snarker part of me will be tickled if they don't get to stay.

So I guess this is at least semi-unpopular but Mark and Elizabeth are my favorite ER couple. What draws me to them is that it’s nice to see two settled and more mature people get into a relationship, having innocent fun and genuinely enjoying each other’s company. It’s too bad Rachel came along and Mark got the tumor and they had to have all this drama because I think they were just fine to watch.

But even when there was drama and they were separated, also…Elizabeth wasn’t off coping with her stress by kissing other men when she was supposed to be loyal to Mark or getting three sheets to the wind and waking up with random men with no clue how she got there. Mark is generally good to her, and they don’t keep a lot of secrets; he told her about the tumor pretty quick (I’m assuming that a ton of time did not pass between 7x7 and 7x8). It’s too bad we didn’t get to see more time with them excited to have a baby and be a married couple. After so much relationship drama on this show based on other couples’ immaturity, it was nice to see Mark and Elizabeth not treat each other with the same level of pettiness.

Mark and Elizabeth were one of my favorite couples, too. Just normal people growing into a relationship and doing couple things, not just F&F like some others.
