  4. 'Speechless' seasons 1 & 2 will finally hit DVD, but apparently only through Amazon's made-on-demand service (both due out June 12): Season 1 (3 discs) Season 2 (2 discs)
  5. The 4th and final season gets the Amazon MOD DVD treatment, as well (due out July 10): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DLLDQ2T/ref=sr_1_3?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1528498064&sr=1-3&keywords=last+man+on+earth+season+4

  7. OT, but Forte and Sudsy have joined the ensemble cast of 'Booksmart' (Olivia Wilde's directorial debut): http://variety.com/2018/film/news/jason-sudeikis-lisa-kudrow-will-forte-booksmart-1202818142/ I hope they at least have a scene together... :)
  8. Yes! :D I've especially missed his bonding with his dad; plus, I think some actual follow-through on the charity idea could be a good storyline for him this next season (I'd love to see an episode where Jimmy gets to reunite with his old bandmates, and Ray ropes them into a fundraising gig). *** Micah and his sister Kelsey Fowler spoke last night at Forbes' inaugural IDEA Summit (May 22): More about IDEA Initiative: https://www.ideainitiative.co/info/
  9. Gold Derby: Minnie interview (22 min.) Topics include favorite and least-favorite aspects of filming, how she relates to and differs from Maya, what she has learned from her work on the show, favorite s.2 moments, the possibility of a full-on musical episode in s.3, the need for more disability inclusion in hiring practices and in discussions of "diversity," etc.
  10. Den of Geek Writers-Room Walk-through s.4, part 6 -- "The Blob" (4x16), "Barbara Ann" (4x17), and "Cancun, Baby!" (4x18) (with writers Erik Durbin & Sarah K. Moss, Tim McAuliffe, and John Solomon & Rich Blomquist) Note: The interviews were conducted and posted before the cancellation was announced. :( Topics include gross cuisine, the group's preference for "sweeping problems under the rug," Tandy and Mike's relationship dynamic, Zorb bowling, Tandy's mannequin, the goats, Todd's "mummy tableaux," the gang's discovery of drugs and weapons, the reveal of a hatch (unbeknownst to Mike, who had made up a story about one in 4x15), the plan to introduce "bunker people," location changes, parenthood and its effect on Tandy's maturation / the gang's "old bad habits," Jasper getting "fed up" with the group, favorite aspects of s.4, possibilities for a hypothetical s.5 (regarding time-jumps, the bunker people, the returns of Jasper and Mike, and more), etc.
  11. Ooh... Besides the stuff about JJ turning 18, I'd like to see him actually graduate (and start making plans for life after high school) now that he'll be getting a second chance at his Senior year. Beyond that: -- Since they lost their home, I'd like to see the DiMeos start afresh and begin laying down roots, putting down-payments on a similarly cheap / crappy house in a different neighborhood (preferably within the same school district!) since I think they kinda blew it with this one by having been such lousy neighbors throughout s.1. -- Some resolution for Dylan's late-season reveal that she's been flunking two of her classes; I could see some funny plots in which she must turn to her family (especially Ray) to either help get her grades up before the end of the school year (if s.3 picks up immediately where s.2 left off) or help with her Summer School work. -- More relationship / dating stuff with JJ (and Kenneth), and Dylan trying to make friends. -- Less relationship stuff with Ray (who had decided to back off from trying to win back Taylor and instead work on himself), as well as a 16th-birthday episode for him (since Dylan and JJ have each had a b-day ep now). -- More of both Maya and Kenneth figuring out who they are and what they could do outside of their bonds with JJ. (Besides the filmmaking stuff with JJ and exploring more of Jimmy's work-life at the airport, I thought the notion of Maya advocating for other parents was one of the more promising s.2 threads; and I also liked the idea of starting her on a path toward reconciliation with both of her parents.) -- More Jimmy all-around, especially his bonds with his sons, his friendship with Kenneth, info on his upbringing / relationships with his parents, and possibly pursuing architecture projects on the side. (I'd also like to know more about his "old punk band," which Maya alluded to in 2x9...) :D -- Episode ideas: 1) Jimmy and Kenneth take the boys to do something fun, while Dylan (perhaps laid up with a sports injury, or grounded after getting in trouble for a prank at school) bonds with her mother at home; and 2) Kenneth and Jimmy treat each other to a "guys' night" while Maya watches the kids.
  12. That was you? Cool! Yer welcome. :) As for the DVDs, I'm hoping for some deleted scenes myself. I know the Den of Geek writers-room walk-throughs have alluded to some cut material...
  13. FOTB should be okay, considering how much it has been kicked around the schedule yet has enjoyed fairly stable (if modest) ratings; as for 'Speechless,' its average rating (despite little-to-no promotion for most of the episodes) managed to fare slightly better than FOTB did this past season, so it's possible that it could build slightly on its new lead-in. If ABC actually bothers to advertise for the shows' changed time-slots (as they did for AH quite a bit last season), I could see them holding on to most of their audiences (and certainly faring better than the likes of 'Marvel's Inhumans' and OUAT). :) The one big problem I see, however, is that ABC's comedy block will going head-to-head with FOX's (the revived LMS and the new 'The Cool Kids'). :\
  14. A lovely write-up / appreciation of the series: https://www.themarysue.com/last-man-on-earth/ *** Also, Amazon to sell made-on-demand DVD sets of s.2 and s.3 starting next week (May 22), though you can pre-order them now: http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Man-Earth-Season-2-and-Season-3/24159
  15. Super-bummed about LMOE. :( But NBC just picked up B99: http://www.tvratingsguide.com/2018/05/that-was-fast-brooklyn-99-is.html :) Another YAY! :D
  16. An interesting take on the season 4 series finale: http://www.vulture.com/2018/05/last-man-on-earth-ended-perfectly-even-with-a-cliffhanger.html I'm still bummed, but I sort of get it. :\ And something else I thought of: The original premise (according to interviews early on with Forte, Lord & Miller) was that Philip Tandy Miller was the kind of guy who basically needed the apocalypse to happen before he could become the best version of himself; and I think he finally did just that in this last episode, when he ended up being the one who called out his group's decadent-scavenger lifestyle. *** Looks like B99 will get another chance on NBC: http://www.tvratingsguide.com/2018/05/that-was-fast-brooklyn-99-is.html :)
  17. YAY!!! :D *** Also, a nice article with comments from Micah: http://www.futureofpersonalhealth.com/advocacy/speechless-star-micah-fowler-is-living-without-limits :)
  18. THR's Daniel Fienberg wrote a nice appreciation of LMOE and B99 (as well as 'The Mick,' which also got cancelled): https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/fien-print/brooklyn-nine-nine-last-man-earth-mick-canceled-1110923 :\
  19. Some s.4 finale articles: http://ew.com/tv/2018/05/06/last-man-on-earth-season-4-finale-will-forte-cancun-baby/ (Will Forte interview) https://slate.com/culture/2018/05/the-last-man-on-earth-just-finished-its-fourth-season-is-anyone-still-paying-attention.html (an appreciation)
  20. I'll cross-post this article to the "Media" thread later; but for now I'll leave a couple quotes: http://ew.com/tv/2018/05/06/last-man-on-earth-season-4-finale-will-forte-cancun-baby/
  21. RIP Clancy, you creepy-cute thing. Tandy's speech calling out the group's lifestyle was great, and long overdue. (In s.1 when Phil 2 mentioned farming, I do recall Carol saying something about how her vegetable garden "just wasn't enough" -- I guess they were probably going through food faster than she could grow it.) Tandy giving his rat-tail to Mike (and Mike giving him a bit of his armpit hair) was so sweet. :)
  22. OK, here's the clip in question: http://collider.com/the-last-man-on-earth-season-4-finale-clip/
  23. I don't think it's up yet, but I'll keep an eye out in case FOX releases it as an official sneak-peek clip later in the week...
  24. Den of Geek Writers-Room Walk-through s.4, part 5 -- "Release the Hounds" (4x13), "Special Delivery" (4x14), and "Designated Survivors" (4x15) (with writers Megan Ganz, Emma Rathbone, and Edward Voccola) Topics include how the six-month time-jump both accommodated KSchaal's real-life pregnancy and allowed for Erica to eventually agree to have a baby with Todd on her own terms, Todd's depression and the significance of the toy train set, how that plot contrasted and dovetailed with Tandy and Carol's more lighthearted rediscovery of their intimacy, bringing out a different side of Melissa, getting into the "nuts and bolts" of Todd and Erica's co-parenting arrangement, the decision to bring back Mike after everything that's happened with the group since the end of s.2, Clancy the "nightmare fuel" robot dog, the use of Tandy's half-shaved head to signify Mike's return, Todd's reaction to Mike, Mike's "adult" response to Erica's relationship with Gail, how a Mike-centric flashback episode had been discussed, the misdirect of Mike's "designated survivors" story, Mike's loneliness, the returns of Tandy's ball friends and "Falling Slowly," the "people getting shot out of shock and surprise" running gag, etc.
