  1. Despite a few exceptions, I usually dislike a lot the episodes written by Pimental. She lacks a lot of sensibility. Being Ian's last episode, it should've been written by somebody else. The best part for me it was Ian and Lip saying goodbye to each other. It's so weird that Fiona didn't get to do that. As for Mickey, I don't mind them being together now. After the trainwreck of shitty storylines Ian got, I think it was the best way they had to say goodbye to the character. I just wish it was better written and done. I think Mickey's departure in season 7 was more emotional. Oh, by the way, now give me Sheila and Mandy before the show is over. Jimmy and Karen would be cool to see again in some capacity.
  2. I always imagined a final season focusing on the family, on the siblings, bringing back that tone from the first seasons... Too bad it won't happen. I'm sure they'll bring back Ian and Fiona for a final episode, but it will feel rushed and superficial. The show is falling apart. And they won't stop. That's sad.
  3. This is the first time I had tears in my eyes watching Shameless since season 7. That is a good thing. It's not as good as it was before, but it was the best episode this season. By far. I loved Ian contemplating what he would've missed from his family if he went to jail. I loved the family dynamic. I loved Lip carefully helping Carl with his tye, and both looking at each other dearly. I loved Lip and Ian talking in the kitchen. I loved Debbie, Carl and Liam talking about the "pregnant" girl. And I loved Ian's speech at the end. Those scenes are Shameless at its best.
  4. Liam is the number one reason I'm watching. He's a breath of fresh air among so many uninteresting storylines we've been watching since season 8. I'm interested in watching him "gallagher" his way through public school, using what he learned from his family and the private school. Next week is the special 100th episode and I'm not hyped.
  5. "-I can't go to public school" "-Why not?" "-Hopkins made me soft. I have manners now. I eat paté. I put apricot oil on my cuticles." This new Liam is one of the best things to come out of the show after season 8.
  6. It really is the case of Showtime and the producers seeing Macy as the biggest draw, which justified the unequal pay for so many years. So yeah, as long as he wants, they'll keep the show. And he wants more. I love William H. Macy and I love what Frank ca bring. I love Lip and the rest of the characters, but I don't see the show surviving without Rossum at all. Despite how some might feel towards Fiona lately, it's undeniable that the whole show revolved too much around her, even tho the other kids got their own storylines too. The show has run out of steam even with the whole cast intact, and continuing the show after season 9 was already a questionable decision, at least. Continuing without Fiona is a terrible idea and it will ruin the show even more.
  7. Fuck, it really seems like they'll continue the show without her. Ugh! Here's the showrunner John Wells statement: I'm not watching it without her. That's just sad. And annoying. Fuck, just finish it already. Hope they change their mind. Or they'll just ruin the show.
  8. I was expecting (and wanting) the show to end, but this news really got me by surprised. I have come to love these characters so deeply and they have been a part of my life since January 2011. I'm almost the same age of the older kids and I got to grow and learn about myself watching them grow too. Watching them mirror and overcome their parents mistakes, their patterns of bad behavior, them failing again and again, but trying again and again. Fuck, it's going to be hard to say goodbye to them. But it's better this way. I hope to god Showtime and the producers are respectful enough to finish the show this season instead of dragging it without Fiona. As important and special Macy's Frank and the rest of the characters are, Fiona is a central character. Thank you Emmy Rossum for bringing Fiona Gallagher to life. I'll carry these characters in my heart of the rest of my life. That's something special. Thank you! <3
  9. I stopped watching the show after season 2, but I read Indiewire and (accidently) found out about the "mysterious depature of Ruth Wilson". I was shocked because for me was always the heart of the show, and her acting was the best part. Well, I hope everything is alright for her.
  10. I'm not sure if "valued" is exactly the right word, because there is nothing complimentary about how men looked at her. She was like a sex toy for them. But I got your point, and it's sad because Elektra really needed to do the surgery to feel complete. Her story made me wonder about Stan and Angel. Even tho Stan didn't make it clear that he's with her because of her penis and he relates to her more as a human, he did make it clear he's fascinated about her because she's unique. I do wonder if he'd still feel that way about her if she decided to operate.
  11. I think Elektra's story this week was the most interesting (and sad). It was a no-win situation for her and I wonder how many trans women goes through something similar. As a pre-operated trans woman, most of the relationships she got were related to sex and her penis. With men we would now call pansexual. The "problem" is that Elektra is a trans woman who needed the operation to feel complete, but by doing that she lost the men interested in her. And now, even tho she had the surgery, she still isn't accepted as she thought because with or without her vagina she's still a trans woman. She's still a "freak" like that guard called her. On another note, as a Drag Race fan, I loved the ball this week. It got a club kid vibe and was very interesting to watch.
  12. Not only actors, but Pose also have trans women writing and directing. That's great. Janet Mock, who directed this episode, is the first trans woman of color to direct for TV. And Scarlett Johasson's comment only shows she doesn't give a crap about the community.
  13. I don't think I have anything new or any insight to add. I just want to highlight the importance of this show, especially after some recent news. It really does show that Hollywood doesn't give a fuck about trans people. They just want to use them as tools, but have zero interest in inclusion. It's hypocritical. It's disgusting. And it's outrageous because trans people aren't even allowed to audition to cis roles. And the few roles for trans characters, cisgender actors steal. The lack of social sensibility is insane. Sorry for this "off-topic" post, but it's hard to see that. And I can only hope FX renews Pose. It's a good show and it's doing something historical by allowing trans people to tell their own story. The ratings aren't so strong. I wish Pose could get to mainstream like Rupaul's Drag Race did. I can only hope for a second season now.
  14. Yes, Maeve is by far the character I'm most invested in. Akane No Mai was the best episode of the season for me, and a big part of the episode was dealing with brand new characters. Yet, I was more invested in Akane than I was in many other characters of the show. Because instead of focusing on tricking the audience, they delievered an episode that actually had a heart.
  15. I 100% understand the relevance and importance of approaching the HIV topic given the time period and the LGBT history. That conversation between Pray Tell and Blanca showed that, when they talked about how neglected the HIV patients were, or the indifference towards finding a cure to it. However, I am not a big fan of that storylines, as important as they are. I want them to focus more on exploring unexplored topics and storylines with LGBTQs. On another note, I love ensembles so I do want to get to know more about the other characters, and I liked getting to know more about Candy, exploring another issues trans women goes through. But honestly, right now I'm super invested in Angel and Blanca and I want to see more and more of them. It was a bummer to see so little of Blanca this week. Indya Moore and MJ Rodriguez are the standouts of the show so far to me.
