  1. Best comment from the YouTubers:
  2. Except there was no free trial. You had to pay a month's fee up front, and you don't get a refund if you cancel the next day. A free trial would have actually been a great marketing tool. Although it's still elitist for the many people who do not have either the high speed internet or the viewing technology to watch a streaming app. I had free Peacock Premium through my cable provider until they took it away last year, and I almost never used it. You either want to watch their programming or you don't.
  3. America hates America's Team, even when their opponent plays in your division.
  4. Niners. GB is the 7th seed, so they play the highest remaining seed every game.
  5. Way to kill the buzz. Kevin and Greg are a perfect pairing. It will be malpractice to break them up. Although I almost wish this had been a CBS game so Tony Romo could choke on his own bile.
  6. Maybe they can line up in the victory formation and run somebody who needs a touchdown.
  7. Hmm...add this to the legendary highlight reel of favorite Dall-ass playoff losses, including Dak not knowing to hand the ball to the ref, and Tony Romo fumbling the field goal snap against Seattle. Here is a very fun list of Dall-ass playoff performances, and it doesn't even include today's game. Did you catch "You Dropped a Bomb on Me," as they showed us Jerruh in his box?
  8. It might go about as well as when Jerruh hired Bill Parcells. Was never able to recreate his success in NY or even NE. What are the odds Aaron Rodgers goes on the airwaves this week and takes credit for Jordan Love?
  9. That's because until recently, the #2 seed also got a first-round bye and didn't have to play in Wild Card Weekend.
  10. Given that the Giants aren't in the playoffs, seeing Dall-ass go one and done (again!) is the only thing that even matters. Do not screw this up, Pack.
  11. Then they could have done what they did with other games, and simulcast it on NBC and Peacock. Not exclude it from the free network. It's not like you were going to get something special if you paid for streaming. No doubt there are people who've arranged hotel rooms, rental cars, plane trips, dog-sitting, time off from work, etc., for the privilege of paying outrageous ticket prices, but can have all their carefully arranged plans upset at the whim of the ultra-rich NFL elite. And in other news, water is wet. I haven't seen overall officiating this bad since the year of the substitute refs. But of course, like Tom before him, Patrick is a special snowflake and needs special handling.
  12. I'd take that, but I'd be more thrilled if they were trailing by 30...in the first quarter. I haven't rooted for Green Bay all season but they're getting my positive vibes today. Anything to see Jerruh's smug, scum-sucking, simian smirk shattered and swept away. I'm thinking the logistics of moving the schedules of all the employees involved in the game, from security officials to bus drivers to the concession workers, not to mention network personnel like camera guys, on such short notice, might have precluded that. I've never been crazy about the 10 am starts in September, but sometimes it's good to be in a Western time zone. The second, now first, game today starts at 2:30 Mountain Time.
  13. Money-grabbing being the NFL's favorite pastime, I am sure this is not the end of the streaming experiment. This was just a trial balloon. No doubt we'll start seeing more NBC games on Peacock, CBS games on Paramount, ESPN going to their ESPN+ add-on, and playoff games on Amazon Prime. Maybe even HBO, since they do Hard Knocks. I wonder how Liev Schreiber would fare as a play-by-play announcer... I stayed in a sports blackout last night and watched the replay on NFLN this morning until I got bored. It definitely was not worth a PPV fee.
  14. Fond memories of the Ice Bowl, or if you need something more recent, Tom Coughlin almost losing his face at the same frozen tundra as the Giants upset Brett Favre and GB on the way to the Super Bowl. Isn't she just going to be ensconced in a heated luxury box?
  15. Given that he needs fifteen wins to break the record, and given that the teams hiring coaches right now are ones looking to rebuild, you'd have to think it could take him at least three seasons. What franchises are going to hire him just so he can pad his record?
  16. https://www.peacockfreetrial.com/
  17. Seems like a lot of people will be signing up for their 7 day free Peacock trial on Friday and cancelling by Monday.
  18. Maybe Greg Schiano was right after all. By all means, run up the score to get a garbage touchdown that your guy couldn't get in 17 games. Just do it from the regular formation.
  19. It wouldn't have mattered. We'd have had to root against Big Blue, which was definitely not happening. Is Brian Daboll going to keep his job? I think Miami's going to feel some Hard Knocks tonight. I believe they've beaten one team with a winning record, and the Bills kicked their butts earlier this season.
  20. I've been a Giants fan far too long to assume the Giants won't find a way to screw this up.
  21. In one room of my house, you have to be in direct line with the Roku TV for its remote to work, so I invariably use the Roku app on my phone to control that TV. My cable company just announced another price increase, and their so-called "discounts" are expiring soon, and their DVRs poop out on us regularly, so I'm looking for an alternative. Seems like every live streaming service I research has something wrong with it, whether it's missing channels I want (Sling), or being just about as expensive as cable (DirecTV Stream), or adding on hidden fees (looking at regional sports fees, Fubo!) that disguise the actual price, or not offering a free trial (why not, Hulu Live?) to see if it's worth dropping cable. I would hate to turn in my crappy DVRs and lose my plan only to find I don't like the streaming interface, but the only other option is to pay for both while I try it out. If you cancel a service, they don't give you a refund but keep you on for the rest of the month. That doesn't really save any money, does it? No doubt, though, of course, the cable company will jack up my internet price to make up for it.
  22. Nothing says, "I trust my defense in overtime," like going three times for a two-point conversion that you don't actually need.
  23. You're not missing much. I watch almost nothing on AP. And most of what they "offer" is either movie rentals or "Freevee," which already comes with ads. If I want ads, I can stick with Tubi or Pluto, which cost nothing.
  24. Jim Nantz on any other QB who's being constantly chased out of the pocket: "He's running for his life." Jim Nantz on Patrick Mahomes: "Ooh, he's using his legs!"
  25. Not yet. I’ve been watching Hard Knocks. In Tua I Trust.
