  1.

I did not know it was acceptable to use the word still to describe an inanimate object.

Oriental rug is example I use when correcting people (Rugs are oriental, people aren't)

Although my sister doesn't get it- She is teaching preschoolers this summer (usually works in a high school)

She had them sit Indian style and sing that old favorite 10 Little Indians  (ugh)-

  2. Whoopi was on the Today Show today:

Here is an interesting view of the segment:

    http://www.showbiz411.com/2014/07/28/whoopi-goldberg-crosses-over-to-nbc-today-show-message-to-abc

She didn’t respond at all when Savannah Guthrie asked if she was happy Rosie O’Donnell was returning to The View. She completely ignored the question.

Whoopi said: “When I come back in September, there could be six turtles sitting there.” She also said: “The View will always be Barbara Walters’s show.” Really? Barbara is supposedly retired. Something’s up. And this was Whoopi’s way of telling that to ABC. The ball is in their court.

  3. Wonder why Sal would go to a Catholic mass

(a significant other's influence?, feels he needs some guidance?, wants LJ baptized? Is his Mom is visiting? lol  )

I love the "Had a good time and was done in an hour."

    Sal @SalfromtheD  ·  10h

Went to a Catholic Church today.  Very interesting, a lot of singing and kneeling.  Had a good time and was done in an hour.  Good deal :)
  4. Interesting that folks mentioning Sherri's acting (here on the board)

haven't mentioned her most recent sitcom work.

She was on the last season of How I Met Your Mother.

I remember Sherri would get the weeks confused as she tried to watch the episodes she was in.

  5. psst... Roger-

We all know Sherri did not write the book (that's why the word author is in quotes.)

It seems like Bone must've read it as he (like Sherri) believes (mentioned in his comedy routine) that eating sugary foods causes diabetes (I do know recent studies mention sugary drinks -but sugar (in general) has not been found to be a cause.

  6. Ya know.. Disney owns ABC and has always been a presence on The View.... why have we not heard a peep about some of these "failed" Disney kids who are now in their 20s and have aged out of the kids shows.... why have we not heard of any of those kids as a possible co-host or even a guest host??

Then there are all the talented women employed by ABC News- and their affiliates throughout the nation-

I'm sure we can come up with our favorites...

Diana Perez might've been a good match but she recently left World News Now to be home with her young family

    @SherriEShepherd

House full of visiting nieces and nephews, two 100 lb dogs & @BoneHampton - where's the nearest #Ihop cuz' I am not cooking!

Seems both dogs got heavier all of a sudden.

Looks like she is surrounding herself with family and friends as the baby's due date draws near.

  8. Springtime, I can't get the link thing to work, but I googled the full name of the foundation in quotes and read through a few of the sites that came up. The dandb.com site is where I got what I cut and pasted above. Also read in other sites about founder Steve J. Hope this helps.

I found this info that indicates that the Academy is no longer in business:

    http://www.wysk.com/index/california/placentia/6hfcxh4/los-angeles-academy-of-media-and-technology-foundation/profile

  9. The organization that Sal says he is affiliated with in LinkedIn doesn't seem to publicize much about what they do, but that doesn't mean they don't do good work. It just seems like it was started by. Steve J. that may run it out of his home and doesn't have many employees but may have lots of volunteers (I.e. Friends of his) that help provide programs like many Foundations do. A business website says about it :

Since 2007, Los Angeles Academy Of Media & Technology Foundation has been providing Communication Services, Nec from Placentia. Los Angeles Academy Of Media & Technology Foundation has estimated annual revenues of $ 100,000.00 and also employs an estimated 2 employees.

If Sal is volunteering there regularly, great. But it is odd that information of what programs they offer, etc. aren't more readily available. Sometimes "foundations" are just something that looks good on the founders resume and the activities could consist of something as minor as a "weekend" camp run by volunteers.

    Do you have a link?

  10. Too bad she treated Clinton Kelly so rudely when they were paired together for that now famous cooking segment on The View.

She really could use some of his What Not to Wear advice!

Maybe he was trying to give her fashion advice and she got pissed!!! lol

  11. Jury room fashion sure has changed since the last time I went...

    It was an interesting morning-

Luckily a woman in pink pj pants (with the length torn to fit) just came with a friend. She wanted to see what jury duty was like.

She quickly learned there isn't a lot happening! She was constantly checking her cell phone (commenting on the time) and her long hair for split ends. (I actually told her that she probably could've watched the jury duty video (the only thing we did) on You Tube!

I initially thought she might be a direct care worker (just off the overnight shift) bringing a disabled man in- or they were a married couple with disabilities.

NOPE- He drove (and had to drive miles out of the way) to pick her up! lol (a quick city to city search has round trip travel time of an hour)

She was the one complaining about the early hour!!! lol (I actually never heard a word from him)

THey should instruct people to not bring friends!!!

We had two quite casual short and t-shirt wearers with the backward baseball caps (one male who let us all know he did not want to be there and a woman who seemed to be making a lifestyle statement with a rainbow tied dye design)

Looking over the strange and small  crowd- I was thinking that I would be heading into the courtroom- but we got released at 9:30!!!

  12. I stumbled across Sal's LinkedIn account. It says he is an instructor at Los Angeles Academy of Media and Technology. I looked this school up and it is a non-profit that helps inner city kids learn about digital filmmaking and technology. I guess he went back to teaching.

A quick search shows that the academy web site is not active and their sparse Facebook page has had nothing added since 2009

    https://www.facebook.com/pages/Los-Angeles-Academy-of-Media-Technology/100225288706

  13. Why was Sherri there anyways?

Eating waffles before her day at the amusement park?

As for Sal- he can say anything he wants but the legal separation document he filed clearly indicates that he does not want Sherri involved with the baby-  He only wants her money.

    http://www.people.com/article/sherri-shepherd-divorce-lamar-sally-split-breakup-separation-divorce-custody-battle

In addition to asking for (legal and physical) custody of the baby, Sally is requesting that Shepherd only gets "reasonable" visitation rights and asked for an order preventing her from interfering with the baby being given to him after he's born.

He has asked for spousal support and for Shepherd to pay his attorney fees. Sally has also asked that the couple's prenup be invalidated based on fraud.

  14. The photo of that cake looks really lonely. That poor child. Coming into the world with such a mess already made. I wonder if the surrogate has mixed feelings about the whole thing.

The "dollar store" plastic tablecloth speaks volumes about what could have been.

  15. I can't imagine what the fee is for Sherri's appearance this weekend but this seems to be the time for her to be with her son in THEIR time and situation - so much change with the move, Sal gone, Sherri gone, being fought over for custody etc. And his Mom having a lot of fun with her friends for days with an hour or whatever appearance.

It is not like Sherri is poor - worth an estimated $10M. And seems to me out of control and her career and exposure are her priorties. And she is sabotaging her sidekick acting for $28 a ticket stand up show. She was a limited character on some very successful tv comedies.

This weekends show was the second one for the same event- The first was on May 24th in North Carolina

It was lined up a long time ago (BS- before separation) and has been prominently displayed on her website.

Many of her other shows come out of nowhere- but this seemed like a major commitment she couldn't/ wouldn't miss)
