  1. Jake obviously likes the superficial 80s pop culture; nothing serious. From the way he’s spoken it’s not something that’s a hard line for him, but more of an enjoyable pastime. I believe the show has made more of it than it is, because it was something different they could sink their teeth into, & something they knew many viewers would mock him for, so good TV for them. Keeping it in perspective, there are WAY worse things a guy could be spending his spare time on ffs.

  2. Maybe Jake would feel more interested in Haley if she was actually sticking around when they weren’t filming. He said on Unfiltered she’s leaves with the cameras. Her ‘interest’ in a relationship with Jake is fake.

  3. Clara needs to stop getting Ryan off. If he pulls back she'll know he's not worth her time.

WTF with Erik & VA tonight. I check out a bit when they're going on & on - it's annoying.

I have no idea what happened in the bar - she left? Where? Why? I'm confused.

She doesn't want the dog trained - again why? Doesn't trust him? Hire a trainer FFS & do it together. Geez I don't get it.

  4. Jake just confirmed on Unfiltered that Haley is "gone after they're done with their activities for the day".  In other words, she's only showing up for the cameras, when she whines about how much she's giving & trying. 🙄

  5. I like the 'before' Erik, but at least it wasn't a huge change.  I think if VA lived a cleaner lifestyle her skin would smooth out & she'd look just as good, in her own way of course. They have similar features - large brown eyes & long brown hair.  Maybe that's his type.  I do wonder why he would do a show like this, though. Maybe when his ex remarried he was feeling insecure.

We did see the pooches together at the move into the (not) love nest.

Wrex (Jake's corgi) barked and growled at Sophie (Haley's doggie)...

Apple didn't fall far from the doggie tree...(stay with me and go with it)

Yes I recall, & the dogs will never live peacefully together either, just like their owners.

If we somehow find out Jake growled & performed an unwanted golden shower during their drunk sex I'll be totally team Haley.

Yeah I don't think either of those guys are her type and I do think Ryan PHYSICALLY is exactly what she asked for. He is just so hard to read; they have obviously spent a great deal of time talking to each other to discover that they have a lot of things they like in common, but I feel like he either doesn't like conflict so he keeps avoiding having difficult conversations with her on the topics they don't agree on, or they have discussed them but just off camera because he is VERY aware of the cameras and what he says when production is around. I think this is why we keep getting the "sure, sure" answers. He is also the one who wanted to keep their sex life private which clearly didn't happen. I don't know if he feels like that is some kind of betrayal of trust? I am also undecided if it's fair or even doable to ask Clara to do that under these circumstances.....

They do seem the sorts that could be good for each other personality-wise. Not exactly opposites, but different enough to balance each other out. Plus, they both seem nice and both seem like they really want this to work. Those are all good things, but it might be the issues that don't align are too big to overcome all the positives. They kind of remind me of  Jason and Courtney and Tom and Lily - sweet couples, too different in the long run. And I could see Ryan and Clara, much like those two couples, saying yes on D-Day and staying together a while but not the long haul.

Maybe he's just being tight lipped for the show narrative with them. They're too comfortable with each other to not have been having some good discussions. She seems to be overdoing it with the pouting over no sex too, so it could just be their shtick.

My ex and I had a cute little dog, never caused any trouble when guests came over (I also made sure she didn't jump all over guests).  Then one day, the ex invited a friend and his wife over for drinks.  We were sitting there chatting, then all of a sudden the dog walked over to the guy, hiked her little butt over his shoe and pissed on it.  We were horrified and kept apologizing, but the wife looked over at her husband like "that dog pissed on your shoe for a reason.  Who have you been seeing?"  Understandably, they never came over again.

    Dog knew something...

Back to the episode, I think it's going to be a lot of doggie filler so I'll only watch a little to see how Jake and Haley's dogs get along.

I doubt there will be that much focus on the dogs, probably will just show how Eric and Virginia had the spat because of their different thoughts on control and maybe show Jake and Haley's not getting along.  In both cases, mirrors the couples' relationships.

We haven't seen Jake & Haley's dogs together the whole season. It would be difficult to merge two dogs, never mind 4 together, happily. That in itself should've screamed do not pair these two. Stupid 'sperts'.

Unpopular opinion:  Paige irritates me more than Chris.

Paige is like Zach of a couple of seasons ago -- she says a lot without saying much of anything.  Word salads.  And she has this weird creepy smile while she's basically giving God credit for her lack of ability to take a stand.

I agree.  Her commentary & judgement on Unfiltered reg. the other relationships is out of place when her story line is so pathetic. Her TH's when she's eye rolling or participating in the Chris hate is pathetic too, because she's the one perpetuating it while sucking up being praised for her 'character', enjoying her TV time & victim status. If she's truly not meeting up with him except for filming then she's also lying to the audience about her commitment. No one would care if she wanted nothing to do with him, but instead she keeps playing along. But I believe she's a total fake.

I don't think she would ever be comfortable in his condo among his expensive furnishings that he keeps in a pristine condition.  Everything about VA seems to emphasize sloppiness, disorder, lack of personal care and impulsivity.

I didn't pay too much attention but I think she's also concerned about her dog in his place. His stuff & his dog will be moving with them too, so if she's not comfortable at his place she won't be comfortable sharing a new place with him either.

I'm quoting myself to explain what I meant by "ladies".  It was the ladies from the various magazines/newspapers that were sitting with Kevin Frazier that made the leap that Jake must have been pretty bad in the sack for Haley to refuse to let him even touch her after they did the deed.  It wasn't the ladies from the show.  Although it was despicable what they said about him, kevin Frazier was right there egging them on.

Ah, so same thing that's going on with discussions on the board as to what happened. I see, thanks for clarifying.

While it is a possibility, it's quite a leap to go to & very nasty to speculate about someone on TV. Also, I doubt they'd do that to a woman. I hope if it was the case that Haley only mentions it to Jake or keeps it to herself.

  11. Well that's sad about Jake but she was drunk, so maybe not the best judge or that great herself?  Also, Jake seems like someone open to discussion so she could've spoken to him about it instead of broadcasting to her 'friends' who now put it out there on TV. They all suck IMO.

  12. I like the Clara/Jake option better than Clara/Erik. C&E might end up with conflicting travel schedules. I think Clara would be able to handle Jake's quirkiness, & on Unfiltered he said he's all over the place with regard to what he likes & doesn't mind giving things up & changing things. However, neither are Clara's physical 'type', because I believe she said she's not really into white guys?

Ryan is perfect for her physically; he's just reserved & quieter. I had an aunt who would never shut up, whereas her husband, my uncle, was very quiet & reserved. So that pairing could still work.

I don't think Erik & VA are long term material though.

He treats his entire relationship with Clara like a business meeting.  I'm starting to feel really bad for her and wonder what she sees in him.  I don't feel any warmth from him directed at her whatsoever.   She might as well be his business associate.  I could feel her eyes well up when he called her "pal".  She is obviously trying really hard to remain optimistic about things but to start moving her stuff into his place before he's told her he loves her is not what I would do or recommend.

Looking at it yeah he seems cold. But I don't trust the narrative here & think they're doing better than it seems. I think it was on Unfiltered where Clara said she was always on a stage in school, & loved all the attention. I get the feeling the constant long face about no sex (supposedly) is her just hamming it up. Ryan isn't as good at it. 😂

EXACTLY!  He was hurt by Haley's rejection of him. From what I recall from their wedding day, he seemed more than pleased with Haley, at least with her physical appearance.

I think he was just being honest, because he was being asked a direct question about it & made some comments on the show that indicate Haley is definitely not his type. He's said he likes big noses, & also that he doesn't do well with anxious people & told the 'experts' this. But I do believe he's been trying regardless & being honest, while Haley has not. Again, she's just doing her thing, rejecting right away - she just can't get away from this one & yeah that must suck for her.

And I would agree that the 'experts' suck except they (supposedly) do the picking & it's for a teevee show, so in that regard, with all the chatter here about them, they've done well.

Between J&H & C&P, they're probably drowning themselves in celebratory champagne this season.  🤬
