  1. Typical addictive behavior - the three pizza apps. She basically admitted she orders a lot pizza. Because, if that was not the case, she would not have to cycle through the apps to prevent any one place from knowing how many she orders, right? Addicts hide their use of the substance so that no one can see how much they use. She is a textbook case. The first step to any recovery is realizing that your addiction has made your life unmanageable. Buddy is very much aware of how his weight is affecting his life. And I think Buddy and Tal understand more than the others Whitney's denial. Frankly, I think Buddy would like to say a lot more but he's avoiding the confrontation and he knows it's pointless.
  2. I feel sorry for him too because I think he does get it. Her absolute denial about EVERYTHING is phenomenal. Buddy was right on with regard to Lenny. But she is in complete denial about Lenny being into her as well. The interviewer was right on in her comment telling her not to get defensive. She's in denial about being defensive as well. I grew up in an alcoholic family I understand addiction very well. And there is nothing I detest more than an addict in denial. I have struggled with my own addiction to food. The differences, I knew it was addictive behavior and eventually was able to address it. In addition, her arrogance is astounding. Especially her comment to all of them that they are lucky she doesn't hold a grudge. I spent many years in recovery programs for families of alcoholics. And recovering alcoholics had a saying " Addicts don't have families, they have hostages." Her friends and family would be much better off if she did cut them out or if they finally decided to quit enabling her. So they really are not lucky that she does not hold a grudge.
