Kudos to Brandon for reading the room and correctly playing an idol. I worried when he and the other guy chose the coconut drag. That looked TOUGH. If I had been there, I would've chosen the physical task too. I don't trust myself with puzzles like "Count the Spheres" especially if you only get one guess. I used to dream of playing Survivor but the heavy reliance on puzzles would be the death of my game. A slide puzzle is bad enough without making each piece weigh a ton.

I started watching out of morbid curiosity and couldn't look away. I truly want to understand how she can spend so much when I believe they're more or less broke. Her clothes look cheap, her jewelry has to be fake and the "scholarship" she gave that kid in her daughter's name? A whopping 500 dollars. I just want to know the scam that allows them to live so extravagantly.
The kids seem pretty grounded though.

I was already kinda crushing on Jonathan from the first challenge when they had to count the triangles. He knew that wasn't his thing so he just got out of the way. Plus he seems to be really kind. But after last night? I am ALL IN on the Jonathan Love Train. I can't even laugh at Probst for being such a fan-boy. That was some seriously impressive challenge dominance. That even surpassed Winners at War when BRob and Jeremy were throwing their tribe over that obstacle.
I didn't know what to think about Chanel until that final tribal but now, don't like her. Way too cocky and stupid at the same time. And y'all see Albert Brooks with Daniel? I see Isaac Mizrahi. Either way, he can go at any time.

I'm soooo in agreement with those who didn't care for Hilfiger as a judge. He was all about stressing commercial appeal and what might sell but don't the judges sometimes slam the designers for not taking chances and being more grand?! Kentaro was one of my fav designers ever and I can't recall anything about his show being commercial. Even Christian's critiques were geared toward helping the designers amplify their garments from just beautifully made pretty dresses to something more spectacular. Which brings me to something else I really like about this season:
I loved how all of the designers seemed to honestly support, help and appreciate one another. We've come a loooong way from Wendy Pepper v. Everyone. LOL. I mean, how sweet was it that Chasity gave Coral some of that black tulle that she needed to enhance her showpiece? Just a beautiful display of sportsmanship. I hope all the ladies find tremendous success in their own rights.

Just had a chance to watch this morning. Not really feeling the outcome although I suspected a Shantall win all along. I loved her garments throughout the season so I'm completely confused about the final collection. It was my least favorite of the 4. I can't even describe how much I hated that red dress with the big black buttons.
Coral's entire collection was perfection. I loved her inclusion of the male model and loved all of her pieces.
If you all only knew how much I disliked Christian on his season. So the fact that I adore him now is really mind-blowing. Tim Who?

I just had a chance to watch and catch up. Sigh. This obsession with having girl winners on these shows wears. on. my. last. nerve. It's bad enough that I just endured that narrative with Survivor (and I still suspect some of the Jury voted for gender and NOT the best game) but now I have to hear it again with TAR. I've never really felt that Survivor or TAR were weighted towards men winning over women. Now I thought Tough as Nails was biased towards brute strength in a lot of tasks until the women cast this past season kicked ASS. If the "Girl Power" chatter keeps up, I'm going to find myself actively cheering against them.
I was happy to see the two eliminated teams get a chance to return and its helpful to hear that they had extra tasks that we didn't see. I thought both teams were just hapless.
I know I'm in the tiniest of minorities with my opinion of Akbar and Sheri but I kind of feel that Akbar is a kindred spirit to me. There are those of us who have a competitive drive that borders on insane. It's not something that we're proud of and it's uncontrollable. It's what makes us smash tennis racquets (been there, done that) harangue a teammate who doesn't appear to be giving it their all (done that too) and usually, we feel quite contrite and ashamed of our behavior when we're no longer in the heat of the competition. The people that know and love us just deal with our insanity. I suspect that's what's happening with Sheri and Akbar. I really don't think he means to be abusive or demeaning but it comes off that way especially with a camera capturing all his bad behavior. I think Sheri has been with him long enough to tune out his craziness. And so proud of her for completing that task. Both tasks, in fact. I was kind of cringing when she kept dragging the Swiss flag on the floor with that leg pass. LOL.

Totally agree. I hate that they keep using her and the other big girl damn near every single week. Those bigger models put their designers at an immediate disadvantage over the designers who have the skinny minnies. I don't know why the judges don't see that.
I was sorry to see Aaron go. Coral would've been my bottom. That neoprene was awful but I keep thinking if he had stuck to a solid color, he may have been ok. He really went into overkill with that chevron pattern theme. But I had a genuine LOL moment when Aaron declared, "A mess can be cleaned with a mop. This needed FEMA." I love self-awareness on reality tv.

Great point. I'm in a graduate program now and I think there were more of us "seasoned" students in each course than fresh-from undergrad youngsters.

I just got a chance to watch both episodes. I didn't love it but I didn't hate it either. Everyone seemed....rusty. I hope they ease back into the characters better in the upcoming eps.
I think I like Lily and Rose the best from the new characters. And my Anthony calling Rose, little Edie Beale?! More Anthony, please.

I don't think I've ever done as big a 180 as I did with Lia this season. I am really happy for her and love the way she repped for us ladies.
On another note, Jerome backing his skidsteer over that obstacle was seriously impressive. I liked every single one of the competitors this season. Take notes, Survivor!

Alfie, Alfie, Alfie. How did you not see that the "Get" and "To" were too close together?! Kadooz to Quincey for remaining calm and focused on his task and not his competition.. That's two weeks in a row that his methodical nature paid off.
Early in the season, I really thought I would root against Lia because her "Jill-of-All-Trades" thing kind of annoyed me but she has grown on me. She does everything well, she's always right up there near first place and she's a woman of a certain age. They'd better not sleep on her for the Final.

This is probably my new favorite show since Survivor has gone off the rails with unlikeable castaways and too many random advantages. Every season, TAN just seems to have really good people performing some crazy-hard tasks.
I love the way the women really are kicking ass. The Iron-Worker? She made ALL the difference in the team challenge. And the men respect these women too. Nice.
I thought Lia was going to annoy me with her constant "Jill-of-All-Trades" chatter but then she won me over when she talked about how it didn't feel good to win at the expense of Sarah losing. Sniff, sniff.
And Sarah put me through it tonight! Overcoming her fear of water, finishing just SECONDS behind Lia. i was a wreck after this episode.

That attempted challenge-throw was some seriously funny shit. Deshawn walking in the water and re-tying knots. The yellow girl flopping around 3 feet from shore swimming in the wrong direction! W.T.F.?! Blue would've won that challenge by 15 minutes if they really competed.
And my MVP comment of the night came from Genie talking about the Awesome Nathan:. "He was like Cirque du' Soleil and the best stripper you've ever seen!!!" When I tell you how I fell out....🤣

I just watched. Didn't even realize that a new season had started until I saw the DVR picked it up.

You too? And she said it a few times. We get it. And no raging assholes but I did roll my eyes when the firefighter referred to herself as a superhero. Uhhhh...how about you leave that to someone else--it sounds kinda douchey to call yourself a superhero. Especially when you finish last.
I'm torn between Alfie and Quincy being my picks. Both of their stories touched me. Sarah's too and I'd love for a woman to win but I think they'll keep skewing the final challenges toward brute strength. We'll see.

This. This how I feel about this whole season so far. I used to eagerly anticipate Survivor each week and now I just don't care.
I feel like maybe Probst is trying to New Coke us by changing a formula that didn't need tampering. He's going to come out at the Reunion talking about the hatred he got from viewers about this new, weird season and then he'll announce that they're going to return to the original Borneo format for next season: Vintage Survivor.

Yeah. This right here. Simmons is an entitled asshole who'd rather be famous for who he's dating rather than being a game-changing player. He's content with thinking that defense is enough. It's not.
Markelle Fultz was another headcase and I'm honestly not sorry that he's gone either. But I'd love to hear what Jimmy Butler thinks about this latest turn of events. We have Jimmy and Philly is in the Finals. (And why did I just see a Fultz Sixers jersey on the Clearance rack in Burlington just the other day? Who wants that shit even for a mere 5.99? LOL)
