  1. Damn, Aidan Quinn has aged.

Danny and Sid let a rogue cop go. Totally in character for both of them.

Grandpa Teeth was totally in the wrong to ask Frank to push the fraudulent claim through. And doubled down when Frank called him on it. Like he doesn't know his own son...

I have always liked Jamko, and I called that River was going to OD in her first scene.

And once again we have some remote part of New York City where you can have a car chase and a shootout and nobody will call the police.

Ah yes, there's a warehouse area near the Queensboro Bridge where all the car chases are shot. See also: Blue Bloods. :-)

  3. Maybe they are planning to write Eddie out...this kind of character assassination usually means someone is on their way out.

Or, Eddie could be sabotaging every relationship he's had with a woman because he really wants to be with a man.

  4. The Hothead and the Eagle Scout...that would have been a great title for this episode. But Joe really is a dick.

And Sean has made it clear he does not want to be a cop. We don't know what's going on with Jack, and even though Nikki passed the exam, we know she's not going into law enforcement. So itlooks like this generation will break the tradition.

Didn't care much for the weird landlord/tenant storyline.

And that was a sad little story about Erin finding out the kid's lawyer was in the tank for the other defendant.

  5. Eddie is a jerk. He's hitting on a woman who looks like his dead wife, while getting closer to his girlfriend, practically proposing.

I was very interested in Mara's backstory, and glad she got to see her brother again.

And the kidnapping was a little too coincidental with Maddie's past experiences.

  6. I've pretty much decided that Chim is immortal. From rebar through the head, to being stabbed, by Doug AND a gurney, to performing triage with viral encephalitis, nothing can stop our man!

  7. Does this mean we are never going to find out how Chimney got his name??? ;-)

And everyone Chim ran across on his journey is going to have to get tested for encephalitis!

Also, I'm so glad Kevin came to save him. Doug can burn in hell.

And Maddy is right: a hospital honeymoon is definitely better than an upside down cruise ship.

  8. One of the recappers I read calls Matthew "Mr. Trixie." And that is how I will always think of him. She also said he's a nepo baby, and I agree.

Joyce just needs to go to Sr. Julienne and explain about her evil husband. Like Nancy did when she suddenly turned up with a little kid.

I don’t have a lot of patience for Buck anymore.  I like

Truth. Buck is a world-class idiot. That is his whole character. It has led to some interesting story lines, but I don't see him ever growing up. And as for his ambition to be a captain, he is SO not suited for the role.

Everyone loves Buck because he has a good heart, but he also has no impulse control. I've accepted that that's the character, but IRL, I'd stay far away from him! ;-)

  10. Marisol had bought her own house and her idiot brother was doing insulation in the attic and got trapped there. The 118 came to help them out and after destroying her ceiling they all came back and helped fix it.

  11. I think Jessie Tyler Ferguson loved playing a baddie! And since the show shoots in NYC, I look forward to a lot of cool guest murderers.

Also, if they are going to repeat detectives, I hope they bring Molly Price back. I've loved her since Third Watch.

  12. As Tommy and Buck were having their conversation, I said out loud: oh, just go ahead and kiss him! And then Tommy did.

Buck reacted like Buck: just went with it, with no thought of what might happen next.

  13. When they found the mom stuck in the door, and Bobby grabbed an ax, I thought he was going to hand it to Athena and say: you've done a field amputation before...

But seriously, never a dull moment, including the "who cares" team flying to the rescue!

But within the episode they thoroughly established that Cory, the kid, was "on the spectrum," or, as my Mom used to say, a "late bloomer," which gave Bobby the opportunity to deliver his surprisingly refreshing efficiently empathetic lines to Cory instead of gruff lines

Like he did with the "proud Aspie" in the "bus through the skyscraper" episode. See, I pay attention!

And not just because back in Hen's world such violence would've had Athena put on administrative leave at the very least.

Well, just like Abbott Elementary has "cruise ship Barbara," 911 has "cruise ship Athena." So of course she travels with a knife and zip ties. And since she's in international waters, she can play fast and loose with her perps. ;-)
