  1. I love survivor but this whole season fell apart in many ways. The winner, Chris, was basically a new player on the last episode. This was absolutely irrational because all he need to do was get through 2 votes and a fire making challenge. He didn't need any social gameplay just advantages and fire skills. Even worst by him winning, it made everything building up to the final pointless. Rick's strategy point out another problem in this season and that is the idol gameplay. Idol's can make a situation interesting and protect a good player from going home. The problem is the idols returns once played making a strategy just to find the idols. It throws away social gameplay for 10 mins of idol hunting (or a whole episode on idol hunting). Let alone keeps a player in far longer than they should subtracting the possibility of more interesting social gameplay/blindsides. It even ruins the edit because they only pay attention to the guy finding idols instead of feeling out the other players. (oh and it also looks like the production is manipulating from behind the scene) another just small opinion but I still hate the fire challenge at the end. I rather have the voting. it leads to the possibility of a final three or final two. It also to me shows who played the best game not a gimmick that keeps a player that everyone would vote out. Also if they keep this in (which they probably will) at least ban idols for the last two votes.
  2. I usually don't hate people based on how they act just on how they play. With that in mind, I would rather have JP out tonight. He is clearly going with the floater/caretaker strategy of the game. Yes, He is probably a physical threat but no social game. Floaters take up space and will take your space in the end. (maybe this is a wake up call.....) I do feel like chrissy controlled the game tonight compare to Ryan last episode. Ali could have been easily manipulated by Ryan at the beginning of the merge. She has so few choices of allies that you can make her feel comfortable in your group. Although, I feel like Ali has made some incorrect choices in her social game....she pretty much voted everyone she was close with at the beginning. I really hate Joe's game. It's has no social strategy.....It's all the power from immunity idols. Not only do I hate this strategy the most because It limits that player's social game. He can act the way he is because he knows he has protection. Cockyiness with no reason to be cocky! I can take Chrissy or Ryan because at least she/he knows how the votes will go. They talk and make plans. Of course, there maybe arrogance on the possibility of failure in the plan. (Actually, There has been some studies with monopoly games that rigged players naturally have arrogance towards the normal players aka we can't help to be arrogant when we are ahead) I blame Survivor's Idol strategy this game because hiding three idols in the same spot completely allows a person who finds an idol will find another one. (I at least like to pretend the idols are random!). Dr. Mike just went and dug up the idol without a single clue. (good job survivor.....)
  3. The goat issue wasn't a big deal to me. I mean Goats are not naturally found in Fiji anyways (Island after all).....plus they eat Everything! On the other hand, couldn't they keep the goats for milk? ((could waste food)) I still should congrats them for catching them. [I would still disapprove if they ate them because they had plenty like chickens. I just wouldn't be disgusted by it] Mana was an hot mess tonight! I'm not satisfied by the game play by some player but some shined I guess. In every situation I can conceive, this vote out only benefits two players in Mana, Culpepper and Sierra. (let's be honest Sierra did nothing but vote though) Culpepper is now the only physical member of that team and he eliminated a possibility in power dynamic (Debbie, Caleb, and Tia). Although, I still don't get how this benefit Hali other than surviving an extra moment until next time. She still is out of the mix and could be in danger next time! How Mana could look and how it looks now: (if Hali was able to manipulate herself into the Season 32 group)- Tai, Debbie, Caleb, and Hali [on the outs of the alliance]; Sierra and Culpepper would be in danger. This would of put Tai, Caleb, and Hali in a better position in their camp. Tai would have a better leader position too.....too bad he is a follower. (actually too much of one that he can be manipulated to flip and flop anyway) (If they voted out Hali)- Tai and Caleb would have a strong alliance and Debbie could be easily a third wheel. One of those three could easily have a strong leader role while Sierra and Culpepper are on the outs. (Oh Tai, You could of been in a great position if you just kept Caleb) (Reality)- Brad seems to have a stronger leadership role. He has plenty of moves he can make like vote out Hali (still on the outs), vote out another season 32 player...(Debbie more than Tai because he has Tai in his pocket), or move closer to the season 32 group and take caleb's place. (vote out Sierra or Hali) Yeah, she talked back to Sandra but Michaela speaks her mind all the time. (or shows it) This doesn't show that she has improved gameplay just focuses on what people like about Michaela. She is very opinionated and that can be received beneficially towards viewers who have the same belief/opinion. (aka not killing a baby goat) I see no change in her gameplay....She could be perfecting her last gameplay by not speaking gameplay. (reason why she was voted off is because she showed that she was able to come up with a strategy and be strong in competition.)
  4. argh! I didn't really criticize the show in my last post. I just stated how I like the themes and explained my opinion of some of the deeper topics it went into. (still really liked the show..... obviously) What I dislike about the show.....I thought the turning back on Mike was kind of a waste of time. Yeah, we understand that he went to a mental hospital and he is not a reliable narrator. This is all quite predictable situations writers seem to enjoy on supernatural shows. The problem is that we were given too much information to discredit Mike from the beginning. Most of the scenes that showed children watching the show were in great numbers. This includes Mike and Eddie watching the show. Even with the reveal that Mike killed Eddie, The Viewer has enough information to figure out that either Mike had a reason or Mike was brainwashed. We didn't need Mike being arrested and almost killed......the viewer already have outside info from other scenes. Eddie's body was a good guy/victim was a good way to show misdirection though. Eddie personality changed it seemed when the show started. We had no information to disprove this. We only knew that he was a troubled child. We also had another case that the teacher was the main evil. So, when they burned the body helping Eddie. Eddie was already planning to kill Jessica. (good misdirection with information) Good and bad misdirection but what really hurt was the timing of one misdirections. Mike's misdirection hurt the series on how early it occurred in a short season. It was episode 2-3 and we had a bombshell that Mike killed Eddie. This was a great shock but we didn't learn why for the whole episode. The story put him in a situation that couldn't resolve it quickly enough with an equal amount of information. It ended up give information we pretty much already had and built character in ways that didn't further the story. (the chief wanting to fix a house) What could of happen with this wasted time in the plot. They could have sped the plot up. This allowing them to explain Why eddie needed to kill people or the skintakers desire to kill people. They could have explained the relationship with the teacher and her son further. Why eddie needed her son compare to all the other children whom he had plenty of brainwash victims....(example: the bully group); could of dove deeper in the adult's psyche (Eddie had grudges towards most of them); or character development in the children's tv show (etc.). The writer's choices Still made a great show but nothing is without fault. I just noticed that they were all dream like. It seemed like a pretty busy town but most of the scenes seem oddly open and void of life.
  5. I thought the show was very interesting (this season). It's a mystery/horror so it had a lot of misdirection. This made the story a little slow in areas because you didn't know what was happening. I mean If you look at the whole season I would've never guessed the teacher being a religious freak to a very evil force. I thought she was a mastermind behind the evil to help her son (who seemed special). Anyways, I think the show had some interesting themes compare to some horror shows. Eddie suffered from extreme bullying (his broken finger in episode one). This was violence with no direction and no point. It gave birth to hatred with equal violence (unnecessary violence at that). It's really no surprise that this created a serial killer in Eddie. Most serial killers are created from a messed up moral system at a young age from unnecessary violence. This is why Eddie targeted children because he was bully by children through extreme, unnecessary violence creating an endless circle of violence. Mike on the other hand represented a good version of Eddie (like the other side of a coin). He suffered through a tragic event too. He viewed and understood his brother's hate in a way. (he was always near his brother) Mike just didn't go fully insane but learned terrible life lessons from his brother's pain/death. This later was redirected in helping children with the same problems as his brother. This is where the fun supernatural metaphors begin! "Why keep teeth?" I believe he kept teeth because teeth are one of the only bones that can represent maturity. (Baby teeth to adult teeth) A painful childhood cause you to grow up faster and can cause regret/pain. Eddie had all of that with a evil vendetta to say the least. "Was Eddie the creator of candle cove?" This is a fun one and this could be maybe! Eddie's hatred/unnecessary violence was jawbone/skin taker. Jawbone to me though in Eddie's world act like a god of violence. It follows Eddie's plans but in some scenes it acts totally independent from Eddie. Example: Eddie was tricked to play war with mike but skin taker was stabbing itself like it knew eddie was being played. On another point, Is how the teacher knew that someone was going to harm Mike/Eddie. If Eddie could talk to the teacher, he shouldn't of fallen for mike's trick to play war. Could The skin taker be the one trying to protect itself/Eddie from any plan Mike has? Could the skin taker be a creature that represents violence and control Eddie? It could be the unnecessary evil from the abyss (cave) that's in all of us? Which could only manifest itself into a living being through Eddie because he is special. Meh. It's fun to think about! Shout outs for some awesome stuff that was in this tv show: (it's scifi so I was expecting the worst so I had meh expectations) The music! How could a child adventure tv show music be creepy as hell by tons of suggestive/manipulative actions from puppets that's how! It's jolly but has such a odd feeling to it. I can see myself actually watching this creepy tv show as a child. It craves for adventure to go to the unknown.....an endless looking cave. I was so happy with the made-up, pitiful looking tv show! ((hopefully child version of me wouldn't be brainwashed to follow eddie and feed the skin taker.....))
  6. I don't see a reason to get paul out of the game. He is toxic to his team. Da'Vonne will never get along with him in securing a lost for her team. Ironically, Da'vonne can't put him up because he is on her team. I, personally, don't really like him but getting rid of him may not weaken a team. If he was alone this season, I would get rid of him. I don't think the newbie alliance is much of alliance as it is an agreement between all the newb players. Although, I do count it as an alliance with the following players: Paul, Zakiyah, and Jozea. They seem to be working together but the other players just agreed to a basic strategy. Voting out a vet would cause no blood for them. It is smart for the newbies not directly associated for Paul, Zakiyah, and Jozea but for one of the vets. (not the whole vet alliance) They could then vote one of the strong vets off without blood on their hand. The vets would be weak and desperate causing an easy alliance. other points Da'vonne working with Tiffany only helps Da'vonne further her game. Tiffany should be able to see the benefits of taking a vet out still. (the vet of referring to is Frank) Nicole had to pick out a newbie (other than the 3 vets that's the rest of the players). Victor wasn't a part of the major group: Paul, Zakiyah, and Jozea. So in my head, Victor didn't backstab anyone....Nicole just thought Victor was best friends with Jozea. (for some reason) I don't think any of the alliances are keeping silent.......(which is why I don't think the newbie or vet alliance will workout too well)
  7. The returnees are kind of boring in my opinion. I never saw Nicole and James really outstanding in their season. Frank is not getting a lot of film time so....plus I lack information on him in general. My last hope on the vets are Da'Vonne and although I'm not fond of her. She has been working with other people other than her team. (her team is against her anyways) Victor may not be the best player but stating Jozea as a target wasn't an awful move (he is just horrible at manipulating....such a smooth flirt lol). Nicole has a lack of player on her side and Victor is not the brightest. (use him and throw him away) As a physical threat Victor knows that he may be in danger after the two weeks are gone. He stated probably Jozea because he is a physical threat on big sister team. (plus he has info to point fingers at Jozea) I wouldn't give him credit for targeting a good targetable team that already has plenty of problems. You always target the weakest team. The only thing I really don't get is why did they state that Victor is best friends with Jozea? (I see no connection other than being newbies together) Why did Nicole put Paulie up?! As Paulie, I would not stay loyal to Nicole for long for using him as a pawn. (this is not loyalty) The majority are against her and her vets. It would of been easier to focus Big Sister to keep them in the losing position. Now, she threaten Paulie's game and her own because she could use him for numbers. If Paulie doesn't win, I would vote him out rather than Jozea! He is a stronger player....who's on your side. Once a newbie has power, One of the vets are going home! The probability is high for this situation to occur and the vets seem to be oblivious to improve their standings.
  8. I would've rather seen an actually elimination than someone being pulled out of the game this episode. That's two people this season being pulled out....yeah. (we might have seen an immunity shock with Aubry) I think Michele comment was horrible. I would definitely not vote Michele if Kyle/Scott were together with her. They may be disliked but at least they played the game if they make it to the final three (or two....don't always assume). They also stuck together with their alliance unlike Michele....who would of flipped and flopped just to stay alive. I would pick someone like Joe at the moment for being someone for empty votes. I haven't seen game with him the whole time. Really, this comment was only good for forging stronger alliance or manipulating Nick. I'm not really surprised by Debbie. She plays all over the place from the beginning. Pride seems to be her weakness but most of the cast suffer from it too. Aubry choice in vote from last week was a ok vote. If I was Peter, I would of left brains with Neal leaving. How would keeping him help you in votes now? I may of left during merge.
  9. I'm sticking with J'Tia! (oh spelling errors XD)
  10. Aubry could of made a bad move but the possibility of where the other players land would be interesting. I don't feel her choice really had a negative outcome on Joe. Joe was already considering voting Peter off that day too. Yet, I have a bad feeling it didn't add much love from Tia, Julia or Scott. I think the brains as a unit is the strongest team (as in unlikely to flip) at the moment. (Peter would of flipped probably at the merge anyways) Beauty has a still strong female alliance that disagree on Nick, who wants to work with brawns. Tia can be a swing vote to go more towards the females or brawns. Brawns seems ok strong...well Scott and Kyle. Cydney can be a wild card since we don't know her playstyle, yet. On the other hand, Tia seems to be connected to Scott like glue. The majority groups (Beauty and Brains) could stay together but they will probably break apart early. Brawns will probably lean on beauties because their team has better connection with Tia and Nick. If beauty was smart they could form a majority and control the game. Unfortunately, there are so many possibilities. Math Brawns (3), Beauty (4), Brains (4) Brains seem like they won't flip so...I'll keep them at Brains (4) Brawns has a strong alliance but Cydney could be a wildcard with the conversations with Debbie. Nick and Tia may follow into brawns alliance making it (5 or 4) The female beauty alliance can be a wild card. They could switch to the Brawns alliance or the Brains alliance. This would decide who would be the stronger alliance. Brains will have 6 compare to Brawns (5/4). On the other hand, It could be Brawns 7 vs. Brains 4. Of course, These numbers can be decided on the person the alliances target . I'm personally wanting a lot of flips and less of a strong overpower alliances. Cydney and the girls alliance will have to flip at some point. I can't see them winning with Jason, Tia, and Scott if they stick together. Cydney already knows that Kyle has the immunity idol making him a threat in her alliance. Although, they can't win the game if the Brains stay in a group.
  11. Yes, it was obvious Peter was being eliminated. If you find it predictable, try putting yourself in peter's shoes. He did have a chance to be a great villain for the season. Things that were going for peter was his personality was so infamous and being on the outer circle of any alliance. He could of been used by players to get stronger players out. This would cause him to be greatly disliked by the jury making players keep him in. Of course, he himself would have to keep strong players out of the game to sway the jury that he made strong moves. If a player stuck already in a hard position ends up worming his way to the finally, I can respect his game play. On this episode, Peter could have eliminated Aubry or Joe in the game. All Peter had to do was stick to his original plan. Julia would of went with it because she was already in a corner. He could have persuaded Tia and Scott by pointing out either how strong Aubry is playing the game or how strong the connection between the other two brains. The other three would just be happy if one of the brains was voted off.(preferable a stronger player). All Peter had to do was to ignore Joe and not be scared of him. His worst mistake was ignoring Scott and just sticking with the brains. Peter also had other choices he could of made. (I wouldn't call these mistakes) He could of let Julia decide who to kick off and proceed from there. This would of kept the door open for him to keep with the brains. He could of follow the brains and backstab them later. The most difficult choice would be play as a double agent and build a better relationship with Tia and Scott. Peter had options! Merge! What could happen? We have 4 beauties (Nick, Tia, Michele, and Julia); 3 Brawns (Cydney, Kyle, and Scott); and 4 brains. (Debbie, Aubry, Joe, and Neal)
  12. Interesting episode with the one person only tribe....(although, in the end it hurt the beauty tribe the most) I feel like in general this showed how bad Anna's strategy was. First, they made it quite obvious that the females alliance was strong. They never out rightly worked with any of the other male tribe members except caleb to vote nick out. I mean if you're winning challenges at least work with everyone even the ones that you hate. Although, It could be the extreme lack of the team itself for forming more of a strategy with each other. (they all seemed very laid back) The pre split strategy was worst than her other strategy. She quickly turned on Tia by stating he had an immunity idol. She could've figured out everyone dislike towards peter. Could of sold her information on julia being a strong ally to herself basically saying that Tia could get a stronger alliance. Worst case would be a tie against peter. She had options to work around this. On the other tribe, The result of this tribal probably helped the other beauty tribe members. I mean if I saw an overwhelming majority of beauty on the other tribe...I be kind of iffy to say the least. Michele better work hard on building allies because nick is certain not one to depend on. On liking the contestants, I usually dislike everyone and the ones, who I like, usually get voted off. (almost every season) I'm use to hating everyone. I just keep my bias away (It is a game and we can't assume what we are shown is a good example of them in real life). My strategy if you hate someone is just to laugh at them. Peter is too cocky (bad gameplay and disillusional); Jason picks on Aliecia for being clueless/on the bottom. (not nice but not making you look like the most perfect person either); Debbie is annoying (She is so off the walls that she is goofy); Neal (cheese cloth style that helps his business...I would do the same thing. His bias towards older people in a game with a lot of physical task); etc....You can find millions of dislikes and likes between any contestant. Oh I forgot Tia (He hits on a lot of people even knowing he has a boyfriend. He has no game strategy other than being likeable. Although, he is a nice, caring person.)
  13. I have to agree on this being my least favorite episode. The planning for this challenge was very irresponsible. You had three people dropping out! No matter how dramatic that is on tv, this was a disgusting situation. It also took half of the episode without adding really anything else. Shame on you survivor! (hopefully they learn from this mistake) Game wise: I feel bad Alecia was out of the game. She had a real opportunity, if she made it to the swap. I do think that she was a ticking time bomb, though. Anyone teased and put down so much might outburst. Her bullying/position caused her reaction in this game. (not saying she wasn't annoying....she was but she had reason to be). In the long run, I respected her determination in playing the game. (anyone who wants to sign up for this game should have her resolve at least) Also, The brawns totally threw that challenge on the puzzle. I mean you lost with cydney and alecia on the puzzle before.....plus no one was suggesting to switch when the team was falling apart. Brawns basically was like, "well at least we know we have an escape goat." SO HAPPY FOR THE SWAP! At least, I will have more information on the relationship/gameplay of all the players unlike this episode.
  14. I think it was an ok episode. It seem to add at least more information to the tribes and how they stand. The past episodes we just saw how chaotic the brawn tribe was and is. My opinion on the tribes! Brawn: The brawn tribe has a major issue with the immunity idol. Alicia didn't really play smart on revealing her clue to Cydney. Unfortunately for Alicia, She lost the idol to Kyle because Cydney is playing the, "I'm totally working with you game." (honestly probably the best idea in her situation) If I was part of the brawn team, I would vote Alicia off as quick as possible! This is mostly because if the first team split up happens Alicia has TOO much information against your group. She knows you have an idol and she doesn't trust anyone in your group. Why would she work with any one on the brawn's tribe? She is on the bottom and is treated impolitely. (not saying Alicia will make this move but I have faith she will at least turn on the brawns if she makes the first team split) Brains: I feel like Debbie played really well tonight with minor bias towards Liz (not shocking). She oddly had a good social game with the other team members or everyone just saw how awful Peter and Liz were. (I try to not care about whether I dislike or like the player....although Debbie is annoying). Any how....I feel like Peter and Liz fell for a good pitfall that prideful/smart (obviously more prideful than smart) players fall into. They plan too much without building a social game. Not only that! Peter pointed fingers at two people who were on completely other fractions in his tribe. Of course, These people wouldn't agree with you. I do question whether Liz was the right choice but I feel she could of had a better social game later on compare to Peter. Either way, I hope Peter can't worm his way out of his predicament....if so congrats for him. (honestly, I would find it amazing if he makes it to the end) Beauty: At the moment the most stable tribe in the game! I just think the girl fraction (Anna, Michele, and Julia) is not the smartest move. Hmmmm, unless some how they make the first team split all together. I like Tia because he's a character. It just feels like he has no game strategy....positive note- he has an idol and the girls love him. Caleb is too strong to keep around....maybe not the smartest but he can win the challenges that are not puzzles. Nick is on the bottom for not being able to act human enough...too bad beauty seems to rock at the challenges. So far the best player in my opinion: Brawns: 1st place: Cydney- Mostly she has left her choices open....She could flip on the brawns or stay with them. Also, Cydney is not completely in the bottom of the brawns tribe. other places?: Alicia or Kyle- Depends how the game goes....Kyle has an idol and Alicia has knowledge against him. Brains: this episode: Debbie- she setup the plain and knew what to do. Game Wise- Anyone except Petter (too many possibilities) Beauty: 1st place: Tia- He has an idol and is liked by the majority of his tribe. I wish he had more of a strategy but being liked is good too. 2nd place: the girls- They at least have a strategy....
