  1. What does the actress playing Penny have on these writers. Really now she's the golden standard of residents! Also why must Maggie talk about sex in every episode. Callie and her discussing sex gets on my last nerve every time! Other those two things, I really liked the episode. Arizona telling Jackson was wrong but, hey, at least it moves the story forward (I was sure Alex would be the one to do it so I'm glad I'm wrong.) Speaking of Alex, why is he always the one saying no to surgeries. I'd love to see Alex try and succeed at a risky surgery. Another positive from this episode was Riggs. He's really growing on me, I can see him as a character that I can really get into later on so I really hope missing wife doesn't become a storyline. He was introduced the right way and not shoved down our throats like Penny and Maggie so that might be the key getting me to like new people.
  2. Penny is still the worst! Hated how she excluded herself from the dating her way to better surgeries. Jo wasn't working with Alex so I don't know how dating Alex helped get her picked and I say this as someone who really can't stand the way Jo whines normally. I liked the way the entire cast interacted in this episode, everyone had something to do, if not a storyline. Riggs reaction to Maggie is basically my reaction every time she speaks. Maggie, nobody cares about your love life as much as you do, in fact, nobody cares at all! Arizona was good with April and funny with Maggie, they might be barely using her but they are using her well. I'm not ready for Meredith to move on but at least I know it won't last. As far as Meredith's kids I think in season 11 she was interviewing nannies, I always assumed she went ahead and hired one, especially with being a single mom. That also helps explain why they are missing from the carpool scenes, nanny takes them to school after mom leaves. Even if it wasn't explained it makes it more enjoyable to just imagine that and move on. Overall I liked the episode, it felt like some of the earlier seasons with the focus on the whole cast, resident drama, and actual cases.
  3. Something about Jane is just so off-putting this season. The storylines have highlighted her selfishness and self-righteousness. I can't draw specific examples so I'm not sure what it is but I loved her last year and can't really stand her this year.
  4. Had to make an account just to say all this because I can't get over it. The thing I do not understand about April is her complete inability to empathize with Jackson. She was in a rough place when her son died and I can see why she left like she did, but I do not understand her now. She is healed, according to her, so why can't she see that while it was the right choice for her, it hurt Jackson. He never got a chance to grieve the way he wanted, even when he accepted her leaving in the beginning. Why doesn't she reach out, apologize that her grief, while absolutely necessary, made her a bad wife, and move on? Why must she insist that his needs, even in the present time, are inferior to her past feeling? I feel like if at any point in their arguments she would have just said she was sorry, Jackson would have relented on wanting a divorce. Another thing I find weird is that they've mentioned his dad walking out on him as a child but April doesn't really get that. She's left him twice (once to stay with Arizona and Callie and then all those times to Jordan) and hasn't felt remorse or considered what it is like for him to constantly be left behind. How has it not crossed her mind at all that leaving a man who has been left will hurt? And how has she not considered and asked about his feelings about losing a son and missing out on a chance to be a father when he has no relationship with his father. That is something you think about when you love someone. You consider them, you know their vulnerabilities, and you think about them even when they don't tell you.
