  1. Apparently Barbra got equally as upset with Ariana Grande when she was filmed in that donut shop last year talking about how she hated America - and she started a social media attack to get her money back for an upcoming concert that she had bought tickets for. Ariana's people eventually just told ticketmaster to refund her the money. I don't know how to link stuff but if you google her name (first and last) and Ariana grande you'll see the news story about it. I think Barbra has also been in a few tv shows/movies as an extra/background actor but I can't find much to confirm that. She has written some book on teen parenting that has horrible reviews on Amazon. Also found out that Tami has been on tv before - apparently Ferguson may not be her last name (or perhaps it's her married name?) ... anyway, she was a loss prevention officer on some show on TruTv called "Caught Red Handed". Even good ol' boy Zachary has been on tv before, on some show called "Homicide Hunters". That said, I do think he's serious about pursuing a career in law enforcement. His wife has been in jail before, back in 2011 (not sure what for, but I'm guessing either drugs or robbery/forgery/etc to get money for drugs since she's been open about being a recovering addict) so her journey next season as a "repeat offender" should be interesting, not to mention if there are drugs in the female pod, as they seemed to heavily imply last night, it may be tough for her to be around those triggers. Even Jeff has been on tv... I can't remember the name of the show but it was something about uncovering who your relatives are. And apparently he is related to Ted Bundy. Yeesh. This was a train wreck but I'm not ashamed to say I'm looking forward to season 2!
  2. Completely agree that Jake didn't come home because he didn't want to hook up with Ami. Having something like that happen so early in the relationship usually leads to distrust, which is hard to overcome. Not to mention that they don't seem like they have too much in common, and he obviously isn't that attracted to her. I think as exhausting as his sister was, she hit the nail on the head with him wanting a hot girl. And someone else mentioned contractual obligations... I was wondering about that too, because I think that under normal circumstances those two would have met for a date and it would have been a one and done thing. Valene does not not seem ready to be a parent. Her interactions with Mikey are really stiff and awkward. And judging from the previews for next week, it looks like Mikey's mom is a bit of a handful. She seems like the type that would want to sabatoge her ex-husband's relationships just because. I do think it's odd that he lives in FL, but met a girl from NJ and his ex just happens to live in NJ too. Maybe he was looking in NJ because of his family ties, but I'm giving TLC a big ol' side eye on that. I'm not ready to write them off just yet, but I think Valene is going to have to really have to figure out what she wanted nts in order for the relationship to work. My fav couple at the moment is Sarah and the guy with the two teenage daughters. They both seem like genuine, grounded people and his daughters seem fairly open to him dating. He also has a good relationship with his ex, who isn't the girls' mother but was like a mother to them for many years (do I have that right?). Anyway, they seem like they might work, and if not I could see them still being cordial and keeping up with each other. A lot of ppl on social media seem to get gay vibes from this guy (and Jake too) but I'm not seeing it I'll admit that my gaydar isn't all that strong tho The two bodybuilders seem like they are decently matched as well. Is this the guy who has his ex living with him? Yikes. We didn't see much of them so I'll reserve judgement until next week. If she can get over the ex-factor then they might work out The guy with the 4 kids who didn't tell the woman he was talking to until they had discussed meeting?? What the what??? I mean, I get that it probably does cause otherwise interested women to run for the hills, but if they do then they aren't right for a single father anyway. His kids shouldn't have to put up with someone who sees them as an afterthought or an obstacle. If that woman decides to go meet him (who am I kidding, of course she will or they wouldn't have introduced them) I hope she is genuinely ok with his situation. She seems pretty nice, but he is coming off as a bit wishy-washy. I like this this show and it's an interesting premise, but I'm not sure about actually moving the women in before they've really gotten to know each other, let alone the kids. Obviously not all of them are going to work out, and I hope that the kids don't get too attached to the women in those situations I would hate for any of the kids to think that the relationship didn't work out because of them... even if that was a factor, the kids shouldn't carry that burden.
  3. I think it is called "Cheap Thrills" - but I'm not 100% sure.....
  4. Holy shit! I knew I had seen him before too!!! He was on that Extreme Time Cheaters show on TLC!!!! Thank you for finding that - he was a real tool on that show, glad to see that he's stayed classy.
  5. I'm kind of worried about him too. When they showed him making bets with the other inmates, even though it was just for push-ups right now, it made me worry that he's going to start betting parts of his meal tray then who knows what before too long. I hope he doesn't get too involved with one particular clique, and end up getting on someone's bad side just because of the company he's keeping. Not to mention that he'd better keep his use of "bitch" in check before he accidentally says it to the wrong person.
  6. I'm wondering how Robert snuck in his "brand name" ear buds/plugs.... They aren't allowed to bring anything in like that, right? And it floors me how disrespectful he was during the Bible study. I mean, really.... he wouldn't even hold hands with the other inmates? Is he that socially awkward? He should have been able to clearly see that holding hands was the norm, and that by not doing so he's making himself stand out - which is exactly what you don't want to do. And his rant about child molesters... yes, they are seen as scum of the earth, but he's in a jail - for all he knows, some of those guys might have been in there for that. It just doesn't seem wise to call out people like that. That one guy who was talking about what people trade - did he really say someone had traded him themselves as a "buddy" for a day? This is a dumb question that I probably already know the answer to, but does that mean what I think it does? I'm surprised he went there on camera....
  7. What. The F@ck. Was that. Wow. Just, wow. I was actually surprised that her mom called the cops - I think my first inclination would have been to call the paramedics and get her taken to a hospital to be evaluated. I realize that she was kept in custody because of a prior warrant, but honestly I wouldn't think the jail would be equipped to handle that. I was actually glad that they showed this side of meth, and not just the "manic" side of it. The closest episode that compares to this I can think of would be Cristy (the girl on meth who liked getting naked, and her songwriter father let her live in (and trash) one of his rental properties.
  8. I agree that this show is fascinating - it definitely shows how glamorized shows like Orange is the New Black are. If that teacher wasn't such a smug asshole I'd feel sorry for him, because he's obviously in for a huge culture shock. I thought it was interesting that the inmates thought he was a cop... that definitely wouldn't have been my first impression of him but it serves him right for going in there thinking that jail is like summer camp. I think that the marine and the female cop will make out ok, mainly because they both look like people you don't want to f*ck with. I just hope that neither of them get too caught up in it and get in a fight/do drugs/etc which are things they could legitimately get charged with and ruin their careers.
  9. Arnav was first and Selah went home. The one Dad was right, most of the kids weren't really disappointed in themselves so much as they were upset that they had disappointed their parents. The one boy bothered me a bit when he was talking about jumping off of the balcony because he was so upset.
