Also, Izzy was stunning on the aftershow (tan? weightloss) and I never noticed her at all on the show. Last night I saw the rerun and saw her looking pretty unmemorable. Not sure what happened there. (Vinny looked and sounded great on the aftershow. I think he's someone who will benefit a lot socially from his appearance in "Paradise").

I'm guessing that Izzy didn't feel the need to trowel on the makeup down in the heat and humidity of paradise...she was clearly wearing quite a bit of makeup on After Paradise. She looked the same to me....with the exception of having had her hair and makeup professionally done by the studio experts.

  2. Not me...I won't be watching either way. I do not like the format for EITHER the bachelor or bachelorette...that said, I do tend to watch like the first couple episodes of each until the crazies are weeded out...and then I sometimes watch the <whatever> tell all episode....but the premise of these shows is so flawed and absurd that I just cannot get myself into them even if I tried. However, that being said I absolutely loved Bachelor Pad and never missed an episode of that...and I also truly enjoy Bachelor in Paradise. It is the parent shows which bore me to tears. Waaaaaaay too much cheese. That much dairy just isn't healthy

  3. Yeah...Josh's fakeness was just OOZING from the screen during that little "interview" for the date card. It was the first thing I thought as I was listening to him speak. Amanda seems sweet too, so it's a real shame. I hope she clues in to it before this runs its course.

ETA - The twins CAN NOT be as dumb as they are portraying. I am pretty sure we learned the world's continents in like third grade....and maybe learned the first president of the USA even earlier than that. How one could go through their entire life into their 20's and not know what "Europe" is, well that is a very sad reflection on the US education system. I am just baffled at how that is even possible. Is this really representative of the current "information at you fingertips" generation? Or did TPTB just go out of their way to find the dumbest, most insulated people in the world?

I also do not buy, for one minute that Ashley was in a car heading out of paradise, and said "turn the car around, I'm going back!"  and the driver complied.  That was all set up.  The producers didn't want her to leave, and they forced the others to agree to let her stay.   It sets up a bad precedent, though - can't anyone, in the future, decide to "put it to a vote"  instead of leaving?

It absolutely sets a bad precedent. Now anyone who comes on the show and has no shame or self respect that they were voted out by not getting a rose can just whine and beg their way back in with a cast vote. Absolutely ridiculous! Good thing I am here just for the drama and really don't care about anything else or I might actually be bothered by it! Anything that gives me more of Ashley I's sweet tears to nourish myself is a welcome addition!

  5. Just wanted to share a chuckle I had at the awful editing. At 14 min into the show they have Carly doing a TH and she says "...this is one of the weirdest cocktail parties yet..." they words "cocktail parties" was so clearly dubbed in from a completely different conversation. Makes me wonder what she was really talking about there if not the cocktail party. Give me a break editors

  6. I love Gabriella and always have....she is the only grounded one of the bunch (a miracle considering who her parents are) and her obvious misery just pains me. I wish I could pluck her out of there and send her off to have some fun and privacy in a boarding school. Milania, at least, seems to love being on the show and the center of attention, so I don't begrudge Teresa putting her out there. Either way, I do feel bad for their family being broken up as such. Not that I approve of anything they did, but I still feel a lot of empathy for those kids.

  7. I will be back for next season. This season was nowhere near as good, but season 1 was SO EXCELLENT that I will gladly give them another chance to get it right. I'll catch a few episodes and if seems too s2-ish to me, then I will give up on it

  8. My tummy hurts from laughing at Ashley I's tears. Gosh I am a bad person! What is wrong with me? I know how she feels and it's not a good feeling, but she is just SO over the top with her emotional breakdowns! Jared should have nipped this in the bud a long time ago. It was clear to me last year that he wasn't that into her. Didn't she watch the show she was in last year?

I agree it could be seen as unethical for anyone (production, family, friends) to allow Ashley I anywhere near this mess. However, to be clear, I don't like ethics ruining my enjoyment of trash tv. This is not The Bachelor, it is not The Bachelorette, it is a trashy, lowest common denominator, no brain use required at all, summer delicacy. The whole setup here encourages heartbreak and people turning into raving lunatics. Bring in on BIP!

  9. Any women on the board, please don't think that Gio is truly representative of most guys from CT. I hope to never see that douche on my television (or anywhere else) ever again.

They really should light the 9th and 10th beams simultaneously, as it is totally impossible to have 9 matches without having 10

Well then I guess I'm delusional as well, because I find Emily, and naturally Haley as well, to be far prettier than the bland, dull as dishwater, Caila.... But purely on looks, I'll take Emily and/or Haley every time. They've got kind of a young Faith Ford thing going. And lord knows I loves me some Corky Sherwood Forrest.

Funny...when I was in my early or mid twenties I would have DEFINITELY said the same thing...now that I am a bit older I guess tastes have changed, and I find Caila much more beautiful than the twins (who admittedly are still very beautiful).

... Because did anyone see moles on on twin's face?? ...

Bwaaaaaahaha! Through the amount of makeup they wear on this show? Like that would even be possible? Seriously though, I did notice them only when she was in the sun and it hit her face on just the right angle....then you can see their slightly raised reflection in the sheen of her makeup (kind of like a poor spackle repair on drywall that has been painted with a slightly glossy paint). Can't be seen from straight on, but easy to see in the right angle

  12. So, supposedly (I can't verify because I have never tried it) the beauty of the small popcorn is the kernels. They are so small and thin that when they pop the kernel desintigrates so there are no sharp little jagged bits to get stuck between teeth and in your gums. They sell the kernels in a jar at The Fresh Market and I was reading about them one time. They are a different variety of corn than most popcorn is made from, and the yield per ear is not as high, so it is way more expensive than regular popcorn. Is there a market for it? There might be... Those little jagged kernel shrapnel is my least favorite part of popcorn, so if it really does eliminate that, I can't call it a "bad" idea. I would certainly consider trying it, unless the price was more than double the price of regular popcorns.

OK I thought it was like selling a diamond where you get 25% of the value.  Still, if they are relying on hocking things for $10-$15k in revenue they must really be hitting the skids. I mean that is what like 1 months worth of living expenses for these people? Maybe they need to go back to living with Caroline & Al.

No, it's nothing like that. For a pretty mint condition luxury automatic or mechanical watch, that you bought and did not steal (so you can sell it legit), you can get 80-90% of what you paid. Based of course on the current value of the materials the watch is made of. I have no doubt their watch collection got them tens of thousands of dollars in cash, for items they still may not have paid for that they bought on credit.

  14. What is intermittent fasting? Do you mean some days you do not eat at all? How often? Doesn't it slow your metabolism permanently? Sorry to go off topic but, as someone who lost 50lbs in the past 6 months, I am really curious

  15. In all honesty, I find Sarah's missing forearm to be....distracting....unusual. That's not to say it is something one couldn't get very used to, but it is just different, and not something I am used to seeing. She seems very sweet, but she seems very superficial in her own right. She is definitely a pretty girl, but when I see her I have always "seen" the missing forearm. It doesnt make her any less attractive, but it is still kind of shocking to my system. Looks like I am superficial and shallow too

  16. No they didn't go to a hospital...staff medics gave her some help at the compound. The scenes where he removed the ice pack and smothered her were on the aftershow, which is what this thread is about, "After Paradise". The live weekly aftershow on Tuesday nights after the episode.

Glib!  Ok, now we know that a benchmark for the Bachelor/Bachelorette is low IQ scores.  See there?  I was being glib.

Yes, but is that really a surprise? I think we have all been able to tell that for a very long time. Seems most "attractive" people are this way. They have been judged their whole lives on their looks, so haven't had to develop their brains. Of course there are exceptions, but it is a pretty common phenomenon.
