  1. If I'm remembering correctly, the actress was"let go" for nebulous sounding reasons- after the first season. Although she stuck around long enough to be killed off in the second season. So it seems odd that she is replacing an actress who is sort of in the same situation. In order to get rid of Ferlito in CSI NY they wrote a storyline where the character was fired for mishandling evidence in a rape case where she knew the victim, and then a few episodes later she was killed off and never mentioned again.
  2. This is what I thought. I wish I could comment on the episode, but Fez didn't hold my attention and I couldn't even watch a complete scene with the woman character, she seemed so loudly out of place. Maybe I'll catch it in reruns, but NCIS was getting a little tired for me even before this season. And the actor playing McGee looks ill and thin again, even though it was confirmed previously that his weight loss was deliberate. I like Michael Weatherly, but I hate Dr. Phil, so I couldn't bring myself to watch Bull either.
  3. It seemed a bit heavy handed to me, just to make sure everyone who might miss subtlety knows that Bishop and McGee are a team. Having said that, most of this episode held my interest, and that is rare for this show. After so many seasons, they really are scraping the bottom of a dry well.
  4. Maybe "Déja Vu" just means we've seen this all before, which was how it felt to me. I did notice that both Ducky and Gibbs were very uncharacteristically appreciative to Jimmy. I've never understood why they both were so dismissive of that character. Having recently learned that Tony is shoving off next season, I wonder if the Jimmy character is going to take a bigger role - maybe he will become the next probie.
  5. I didn't like super-grifter sociopath Mina character - and although it goes without saying she will be back, I'm not thrilled about it. I can already tell you how the next episode to feature her will start. Either Gregson or Bell will let Joan know that (somehow!) super sociopath has managed to escape without a trace from prison. Some poor red-shirt cop might die to get her next plot moving. And instead of moving on to her next mark, she will feel compelled to stay in New York and torture Sherlock, because she doesn't really just want the money, she wants intellectual stimulation. Why is the current trend in TV super-intelligent, super-skilled, almost comic-book, charismatic sociopaths. Did this start with Josh Whedon's season by season Big Bad's for Buffy to slay, or can I blame someone else? In reality most criminals are not brilliant, which is why they are criminals. Just like most detectives are not Sherlock Holmes, and so most of them actually have to work hard to catch these not so brilliant everyday criminals. I understand that these kinds of characters make writing a 42 minute weekly episode easier. When you back yourself into a corner, super villain can just use their x-ray vision to see through the wall. I just find it lazy. And its getting repetitive. Can we move on to the next trend, already.
