  1. Haleigh's dad does have some valid points about the wedding, but he is such an obnoxious jerk about it that no on is going to listen.  And girl, if you agree that at the last minute your daddy can make you say "I don't" then you're not mature enough to get married.

My favorite is the high school girl.  I think we get the most honesty from her.

I 100 percent agree with your entire post.

  2. The girl who wanted to find her father (I don't remember her name) said more than once that he was only 30 - 40 minutes away.  Why, then, did she have to fly to meet him?  Am I misssing something?  Also, I didn't see any indication that Nancy's prom date was gay.

Thank you! I knew that I heard her say that he was only 30 mins away. I asked my dh why was she flying ?  I guess they wanted to film a flying scene.

I was confused why remotecontrolfreak said he was gay?  I was just going to wait and see how many people agreed just to agree.

  3. Lindsay: She is the one who is traveling to meet her father, whom she hasn't seen since she was 11 yrs old. Yes, I did expect her to be the last one on the plane and my dh said "they'll probably show her squeezing into the JOHN"  BINGO!

I want to know why she didn't reserve a SUV when she was making her travel plans ?   Of course she arrives at the car rental place and they give her the smallest car on the lot.

    Anyone surprised ?

  4. I've watched just the one episode so far since I've seen this in the media so much.  I don't know that I would have approved a tv show if I was her parents.  It's okay if an adult transgender person decided to have a show, I mean an ordinary person and not a sensationalized reality tv celebrity like Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner.  But she's just 14, and I'd be worried with all the hate crimes out there.  Maybe TLC gives them some free security, but still.

The show itself follows the exact same formula as so many other TLC reality shows,  from the Duggars to Little People Big World.  The conversations have that scripted feel, especially the ones with the grandparents.  But such is the way of "reality" tv I guess.

Maybe her parents approved because surgery & hormone treatments must cost thousands & thousands of dollars

  5. Oh god, like back in the day when pretty much everyone wrote a check at the grocery store and the people who would wait until the end to start writing made me want to scream.  Have everything but the total filled in!  These are the same people who would then continue to stand there while noting the transaction in their check register.  Just because you didn't want to pay extra for duplicate checks does not mean I need to wait for you.  Ugh, flashbacks.

Yes! Yes! A thousand times yes!. I go to the grocery store every Saturday. I know that i'll be writing a check, so I fill it out before I get to the store.

  6. My Pet Peeve is logging onto this board and not finding a thread for some popular TV shows. I don;t understand why the Mods don't just start thread for some shows.

Shows like "Flex & Shanice" "Living Lozada"  "What Would You Do?"  "POV"   etc.

I know I'll get a response like...... 'feel free to request a new forum'   The problem is, one can't just start a thread for a show, and start talking about it, it has to have  like 17 sub topics

  7. What the heck is going on with the grandmother's eyes ?  I have to admit that I didn't know what "bronzer" was until I saw it on the mother's face.

Is it suppose to look like that ? Seems kinda heavy/dark.

  8. Detroit woman was mentally moving herself and all her toiletries and clothes into each house they saw.  I have my doubts that will ever happen.  I can't believe how snotty she was about the brand new white appliances in the first house - so, just because she doesn't like white, he should spend a fortune on new appliances when there are new appliances in the house that he's perfectly fine with?

I didn't like how he was trying to set up the family room.  No way is that tv going to fit over the fireplace, and it doesn't need to.  That couch was so long, it cut off the room, too.  I think he'd be better off putting the tv on the side wall, and turning the couch to face it.

When we bought our house, the previous owner remodeled with brand new  black appliances. I don't care for black appliances but...EVERYTHING WAS BRAND NEW. I learned to love them !!! lol

  9. I wonder about the long term physical effects of suppressing her puberty and starting her on hormones so young. Have there been any studies done on this? Is this going to effect her physically 20 or 30 years down the road? I truly hope this question isn't offensive. That's just what was going through my mind when the Dr. said she's showing no signs of male puberty.

I just hope she won't have issues down the road.

She's a beautiful girl. She's lucky to have the supportive family she has, I love that the grandparents did research on transgender people so they wouldn't do the wrong thing.

Jazz is extremely pretty, and if she hasn't had any hormone treatments yet looks like she does, then I think that 'yes' she was suppose to be born a girl and something went wrong .

  10. I cant wait to see what their little boy looks like.  I think Taylor has gotten cuter as the show's gone on.  I can see her having a little jealousy over her new brother though.  She has been the center of their universe for years.

     Thank you.  ;  -)

  11. I'm not a regular viewer of this show but I watched about 4 episodes today. I wonder why they don't donate good materials to an organization like "Habitat For Humanity" ?   The contractors go in with sledge hammers and just have at it. Perfectly good cabinets/counters are just destroyed.

Also, on one show they put in an offer for $430,000 and the listing agent told them that another offer for $440,000 was coming in.so they offered $440,000 and got the house.

    How ?

  12. Enjoyed the first episode with Niecy Nash and Cheryl Hines.  Cheryl was great at fast money, but I also think her questions were relatively simple.

Sometimes the fast money questions are pretty easy and sometimes really difficult.  I remember for the football game one of the questions was like "how much would a husband say is too much to pay his wife for sex" or something like that.  The football players went REALLY high.

Skipped the second episode.  I don't mind the Mixon chick, but I have no interest in the Duck Dynasty family.

    My answer was 'one dollar'
