Thanks! when they were discussing their new homes and Janelle spoke up in a very gentle way about Meri demanding the same amount of money as the other 3 wives were getting, even though she has 3 times less the people in her sub-family, and therefore 3 times less the expenses, Meri jumped down janelle's throat with a "IM SORRY I TOOK WHAT YOU THOUGHT WAS YOURS, JANELLE!" In such a nasty, hostile way, she showed that she is loaded for bear in dealing with the rest of them, and would let loose if they dared question her in any way. Or deny her anything to which she feels entitled. If that was me that Meri was addressing, I would realize that I was dealing with an unwell person. She is incapable of empathy. She will only see things from her perspective. I bet she has never apologized for anything. Ever. I too would not include her in anything. She can cry me a river.

Well I live in New York suburb and used to live in New York City and my floors are and always have been dirt-free. You can walk around barefoot all day on my floors and never get black feet. Yuck! What? Are they trudging around in the dirt barefoot all day, then coming in the house without cleaning their feet? Then sitting on the couch? Getting into bed? I bet they had dirty feet in Utah too. Meri has zero interest in being with the rest of the kids. She's said as much and her actions have said it louder. What happened to all the pastries she promised would be layed out on the Wet Bar Of Tears, with all the happy gatherings in her giant house? That bitch goes to Disney on the regular, and has yet to take one of her 'bonus' kids with her! How do you go to Disney alone when there are so many kids right next door that are supposed to be yours too?? Then post all your fun insta pics for them to drool over? I bet she never even made one of them a PB&J. She's a selfish, self-absorbed asshole and is getting everything she deserves.

Yup. That's the way it works in Meri's world. I thought it was funny that she accused Janelle of being 'defensive' right off the bat. Does she know what that word means? Janelle was speaking her mind about something, not defending herself about anything. Meri is actually the one always defensive. Meri was totally projecting. I also loved Meri objecting to Christine bringing her grievances to Meri in 'this forum'. Lol that was obviously a reference to being filmed! Lol she wanted Christine to talk to her privately. Uh-uh, Meri. That's not what you signed up for. She wants all the action to go on behind closed doors, then we sit through 2 hours of what? Silent lunches, shrugs, darting eyes and vague therapy-speak? No way. You are getting payed to show your 'reality', start earning your money or get off my teevee. Thanks Christine!

This. I have never seen Meri try to go out of her way for anyone. I have never seen her try to win anyone over. She is so ENTITLED to love and acceptance, no matter what she has done to everybody, or how she behaves. She feels she is owed it all, and is just so filled with resentment, hurt, anger, hostility, etc. she is a toxic, mean, selfish person. I don't think I have ever seen someone this bad off, she really needs therapy, stat.

That talk between Meri and Christine was more grueling than Maddies labor.

I appreciate your point of view, I really do, and I had a lot of sympathy for Meri right after she was humiliated on tv, but the way she chose to handle it going forward made me lose all respect I could have had for her. She could have come out a hero if she had one gram of honor in her, but she chose to pile lies on top of lies to weasel out of a bad situation that was of her creation. Also, she lost me forever with this house nonsense.

Oh and btw... My second -who was already a week late-was born so fast, I almost had him in the toilet. Thank Gd my husband is smarter than I am and said, you're having a baby now, not pooping! And rushed me to the hospital. My contractions weren't regular or even that painful, my water never broke, I just felt like I wanted to poop. I had my son 2 hours later where he almost fell out! While I was recovering alone and sleeping hours later, in the middle of the night, the doctor ( who ironically was herself 9 months prego!) checked to see how I was doing. Well I wasn't clotting and wasn't stopping bleeding, and I needed an emergency procedure done which I will spare everyone from detailing. Without anesthesia. Hours after labor. I would have quietly bled out. That doctor saved my life, and I'm not exaggerating at all. At the risk of sounding judgy, yeah, ima gonna try to talk people I love out of having a home birth. Based on my life or death experience. Came back to add, that was my second birth, and nobody checked up on me like that after my first. Nobody could have 'predicted my complications' because I've never had one health problem. That brilliant angel/ doctor saved my life. I never even knew anything was wrong because I was asleep.

I'm curious about how many doctors themselves personally, choose to go the home labor route... i still don't like the idea of it, aside from the risky feeling I get from a home birth, who the hell wants clean-up duty?? I think I would have to buy a new bed! But then again, I also prefer eating out rather than washing dishes. Lol

Exactly! I also know women that have gone in for a regular labor/delivery and ended up getting emergency c-sections immediately due to complications and/or baby distress. Is the midwife able to perform a c-section? Is she able to monitor the baby's heartbeat during delivery, like they monitored my baby's, who was hooked up to a new-fangled machine made for such a purpose? I don't know about the home births. So much can go wrong, why, with the luxury of all the modern medical resources at our disposal, would someone intentionally risk their baby's life?

Yeah, she probably did put the smallest amount down possible. The 'not for business' part of the deal doesn't stop her from renting it out how she sees fit. It's only there for the bank. Basically, the interest rate for a business is higher than the interest rate for a second home. So they're all calling it a second home and not a business. She can still use it as an inn and write off everything she can get her hands on-including gas, wear and tear on car to get there, repairs, furnishings, etc etc...she actually should have presented it as such to the other wives and kody. A rental property is a great tax shelter, and those grifters could have grifted the hell out of it. They don't have a problem calling it a B&B, they're just calling it a second home to get a better interest rate on the loan. Interest much higher on a business loan. She doesn't need licensing to call it a B&B. Just go on VRBO.com. There are thousands of properties for rent out there, nobody getting any licenses for any of them. Stearns Lending doesn't care what she does with the property, it's just the way they all (Meri, bank, mortgage broker) structured the loan. But yes, she sees herself as a super special snowflake, loan or no loan.

If the mortgage is around 375k and the house was around 450k, she probably put down 100k. Her mom could have payed that after her sale and Meri could have refinanced her AZ home to cover the mortgage every month, which is around 1,500, ballpark. Also, mortgage payments to the bank don't kick in for around 3 months so that buys her some time to get some inn guests lined up. No matter what she's struggling to stay afloat. But if she refinanced her existing AZ house, that's a shady way of getting the fambly to pay the inn mortgage since they all are, presumably, on the hook for the az properties.

This. My sympathy for Meri ran out 2 seasons ago. And she talks a lot about working on the relationships, but I don't see her really doing any of the working. I think she expects everyone else to do the actual working.

I think Meri is seeing tons of cash being doled out to everybody but her--the weddings, the showers, the surgeries, just the day-to-day needs that families with many kids have, and she wants in on it. So she took a risk and shoved her open-palmed hand into the mix. Sorry Meri, this is the life you chose. You gotta know that adding people to your fambly means more crap gets divided. That's how it works.
