  1. Tim, there is an interview from the 21st where the showrunner discuss being able to do stories they wanted to do 4 years ago but weren't able (allowed?) to do before. Thus, the time warp sounds about right.
  2. The showrunner mentioned something else "fun" happening at the fall break. I really, really hope that Kate Beckett is NOT pregnant. The last thing that woman needs is a baby...ever! What would happen the next time she goes down a rabbit hole. Assuming Rick is the dad, would he be stuck raising the kid alone...again? But what a dramatic scene it would be as she kisses her baby goodbye. ¿¿
  3. I'm confused. I rewatched the final scene and Beckett starts by telling Rick she needs to get her head on right....to get their Happily Ever After, but then she refers to doing it on her own and hopes he'll take her back when she is "done". Needing space to get your head on right is not something that is "done"; it is about feeling better or improvement....an ongoing process, which will never be "done". An activity, even thankless, unachievable tasks are "done". This difference in each half of the scene suggests to me that the first half was rewritten to make it more palatable to shipper fans they were about to piss off. Hopefully this change means they are rethinking the duration of the split. At any rate I will be taking the show one episode at a time. If an episode appeals to me I may watch it, if not, I will skip it. Right I see no reason to watch the next couple episodes, nor will I watch the episode with Slaughter (can't stand Adam Baldwin).
  4. I do not like the idea of Espo being promoted over Ryan. Espo was suspended and I can't recall him doing anything special. On the other hand Ryan followed procedure when Beckett and Espo went rogue and he really stepped up to the plate and went above and beyond in The Wild Rover....shoukd have put him on the fast track. In fact I think the AG's office should been more interested in him than Beckett.
  5. I am not interested in seeing Caskett split up, especially Castle working with Alexis and Haley (I never have liked Alexis and from I've seen in the promos that won't change and I do not like Hayley in the promos either. ..). Since the majority of viewers will be taken by surprise when Caskett separate, and I suspect they will not like it and won't have read any requests for "patience" I supect TPTB will be in for a rude awakening, especially because salt will be added to the wound with Halexey.
  6. Hmmm...this reads as if it could be from the queen, given the extremely high level of positivity and the lack of a name to claim the writing. Personally I disagree with the writer's opinion of Haley. From what I have seen she us an unnecessary character and not particparticularly appealing, wiaaa annoying nasal voice. I can't say that I agree about Alexis either.
  7. I still pay attention to Castle because Castle and Beckett are magic on the screen and as long as both Stana and Nathan are part of the show, the magic is still possible...and it would be easy to get it back if the people in charge wanted to get it back. My disillusion with the show began with S&Q when Beckett began to do things her history says she never would have really done and we got a very depressing proposal and conditional acceptance. I never saw a point in the mess because there was no emotional growth on the part of either character. Then after #1 Fan a viewer would be hard pressed to know Castle and Beckett were even dating, let alone planning a wedding that was never meant to be. Fortunately, I figured out the wedding was never going to happen so I skipped that debacle...when they released the picture if Castle driving to the wedding I knew there was only one reason for that shot. After that I removed the show from my DVR's recurring recordings. If an episode looked good from the promos, I'd record it. I didn't record anything until the episode with the invisibility suit. I skipped the PI arc, and anything that was Espo or Alexis centric, or related to Castle's disappearance (if I pretended hard enough, then maybe it didn't happen). I watched the 2-parter with 3XK, but wish I hadn't. The story was over the top unrealistic and boring... you knew Castle would find Beckett, so why spend so much time looking for her? And taking Beckett's face? Yeah, it doesn't work that way. I really hoped that we could stop with the over the top stories (and some of the other things I don't like, such as Alexis) when MilMar left, but it seems like they are doubling down on all of it. I don't plan to watch episode 1 because I really did not like Hayley in the first promo, or how the showrunners have described her, and I don't like Alexis and hate the idea of her working with her dad as a PI. Besides, the episode gets rehashed in the second episode, so why bother with the first one. At this point I read Castle fan fiction for my fix...many of those writers are much better than the actual writers of the show. The Dash series that was mentioned earlier is excellent; so is WRTRD's Eliot series. There are plenty of good fan fiction stories (and they don't all involve kids) so I stay interested in the show, just in case.
  8. The first promo, with Hayley jumping at Castle, from behind a curtain, REALLY annoyed me to the point I didn't want to watch. That was compounded by the scene with Alexis chastising her father about his solve rate. She spoke to him in a very condensending manner that I found very inappropriate. Add to that, the fact that the story gets rehashed the following week, I see no reason to punish myself by watching. I will probably record episode two and decide later if I'll watch it. I also have no intention of watching episodes 3 or 4 because it sounds like there will be far too much Alexis...and if Castle and Alexis arrive together in the Ferrari (which is a distinct possibility) in episode 3, I will be beyond PO'd so it is best that I don't watch.
  9. One career option for Beckett would be to put her in charge of a special unit or task force that has a bit more room to maneuver than your typical detective. She could pick her own team, beginning with Castle and the boys. The type of unit could be just about anything that the writers think could produce the best stories.
  10. I agree WWF, most fans of the show watch to see Castle and Beckett TOGETHER, but it seems the new showrunners decided to double down on the mistakes of last season...Caskett apart, Castle PI and episodes that inclusive a significant amount of time featuring Castle working with his daughter instead of his wife. They also chose to limit Beckett's career choices to the two presented in the season 7 finale. Add to that the (possibility of) tired old trope of a couple forced to stay apart by outside forces, the cliché tech guy, and the reintroduction of Bracken and I have to wonder if the new showrunners are capable any sort of creativity...and that does not bode well for the upcoming season.
  11. Wow! I thought this thread was a place to confess unpopular opinions without the need to justify or defend them. I obviously hit a nerve with my opinion about Nathan, but I am done defending myself. My opinion is what it is and people can like it or not.
  12. I interpreted the airport differently; I interpreted it to mean that since he was in town to sign autographs at the cc, he would not be signing them at the airport. Celebrities in general would have problems with fans wanting autographs and pictures at awkward, inconvenient times and they have ways to deal with it, without tweeting ahead of time. I know that he takes pics and signs autographs at other times, I never said otherwise, but if you do the calculations he makes several hundred thousand in a weekend signing and doing pictures. On the one hand I think great money for easy work, but then I think about how much he charges and think that wow, this is just a bit ridiculous.
  13. First, I don't like the way he charges so much for autographs, pictures, etc at comicons. Yes, that is how it is done, but I don't have to like it, especially when he tweets people that he won't sign autographs at the airport. Also, the comicons are all about a dead show and Castle is an afterthought. Again, his choice, but also mine to decide how I feel about it. Then there was the walkout to get himself a better work schedule. I know the hissy fit was just a rumor, but given the direction the show has taken, I suspect there is more than a little truth to it. Although I don't specifically follow his twitter and Instagram, I have some friends who do and they have shared them with me. I won't go into detail, but it is not hard to surmise some of what was going on. Also, the way he slaps people up side the head and other juvenile things so see on vid clips, etc really annoys me. So it is a mix of things; some things some may enjoy, but I don't.
  14. I wish I could say that I have read any spoilers that make me happy, but I haven't. It seems that the new showrunners are continuing what the last showrunner started, but given the drop in viewers, that does not make sense. To me, it feels like TPTB began to lay the groundwork to continue the show without Stana during season 7, with the PI story, Castle working with Alexis and a general physical separation of Caskett. (I felt like Stana was very unhappy with the season 6 finale, so). Now that Stana is back, it seems like they decided to stay on the same trajectory. Since most of this did not go well the first time, I suspect the new showrunners will be in for a rude awakening when the ratings plummet. While I still love Castle and Beckett, I find I have to get my fix through fan fiction.
  15. I once found Nathan attractive, except for his pudgy fingers, but the more I learn about him, the less attractive he becomes to me...plus he hasn't aged well. I cannot stand the Alexis character because she is a whinny spoiled brat; Molly doesn't seem to be much better.
