  1. That guard who dealt with Stephanie leaving her room handled everything wrong. After seeing all the drama that surrounded it, she should've known that this was more than just somebody wanting to room with their 'girlfriend ". To send her back in there, behind a locked door with them and topping it off with jokes and that smartass attitude, was not only unprofessional but neglectful in that she casually sent an inmate into a potentially life threatening situation without even noticing it or considering what she could have done to diffuse it

  2. I think the participant that jeopardizes the program will either be Angele or Matt. Angele might feel guilty and be honest with Gabi about why she's there or Matt might do any number of stupid things, because hes a, you know...complete loon

I really apologize for thinking it would be Nate. I don't like him, but he's chill

Wasn't sure if you were replying to my post or the one from @grisgris.

However, if it was my post, I agree to disagree.  I teach 10th grade English at a school with similar demographics to HPHS. I don't get to teach AP or Honors classes with more serious students because those classes are typically reserved for the teachers with seniority, so phones are a part of my work day more than most people. Serious student or not, the current crop of students in grades 7-12 all need a teacher who cares enough to teach them basic etiquette and how to follow the rules.

My students don't bring pencils or finished homework to class, but they have their phone charger with them. It is about "today's kids" because I've seen it first hand, five days a week, ten months a year for the last few years. I see many of my students for a longer period of time than many of their own parents, who should have taught them respect back in Kindergarten and maintaining it for life. Sadly, that's not the norm.

Too many students don't have verbal communication skills, illegible hand writing and can't take notes in a timely fashion from a Power Point because they're losing fine motor skills from using phones or tablets. They literally can't write as quickly as they should be able to.

My students, especially those who are not college bound, (as well as all of the other ones across this country) need to learn basic self-control, like ignoring their phones when they are expected to be working on either classwork or working in a fast food restaurant. They won't last one hour in the real world because they haven't had to go without their phones for more than three minutes. I wish them all luck trying to keep a job while they can't put their phones away - and yes, I tell my students this frequently.

I wasn't replying to anyone in particular, just in general because I've seen lots of talk about the cell phones.

I don't know to say though. I've been out of school for 2 years and it just was not a problem. I've never seen it the way it is on the show.

i can clearly see some of the teachers here are exhasted and don't want to fight with the kids.

  4. So...the bisexual guy who lives alone is inviting the gay guy to his apartment, and no one thinks anything is up?

What's up with this Kourtnei chick? She straight up walked right out of class and even started packing up her stuff without saying anything to production. They had to ask what she was doing. She really is a big child. The whole point of this was to see what kids are going through and what she was experiencing (feeling left out/no friends/no one to talk to) is life for the new kids in school in every day and age.

  5. Don't look so much into the cell phone thing. No harm intended, but it's clearly the culture of the school and the students in it. This it's clearly a rough school in a rough neighbourhood. You clearly saw them talking about how shootings are a normal occurrence. Using your phone in class isb the equivalent of talking during class.it's a disrespectful act. Notice how it wasn't an issue in say, Erin's AP Lit class. It's not something the more serious students would do. Don't make it a thing about "today's kids" or anything.

  6. Did they really just waste 5 minutes of airtime showing a grown woman whining about having to give up get iPhone for Android. Yeah...she's seems slow and I don't think she'll have any problem fitting in with teenagers. And she even opened up her piece saying that when she was in high school she was more worried about being cool than learning...honey, you haven't changed. Plus, she's 21, she hasn't been out of high school that long anyway

  7. Interesting that I'm not the only one who sees the Shawneice/Jon connection. I'm not saying they'd make a perfect couple or anything, but their personalities in their simplest forms are super conpatiable. They could great friends or at least have tons of fun together.

I think Ryan's a David or a Nick. He seems super nice but there's something not so nice lurking underneath. I'm not saying he's a terrible person, just that what's on the outside is SUPER NICE and makes you forget that he either has the same flaws we all do, or secrets he's hiding. His dickish side showed with making fun of Jon and not having a job.

I didn't like Molly pegging Jon as a man child, which surprised me because I initially disliked him (he seems so fratboy-ish, the kind of guys i hated), but he's on vacation, doing fun things, he's excited. Cut him some slack. He's staring to grow on me. He seems genuinely nice.

I actually thought the Shawneice/Jepthe bedroom interaction was kinda cute, but wow, he didn't want her near him. That wouldn't have been the case if he was even remotely interested in her. Him ein super awkward and shy with Shawniece makes me see him as more of a manchild than Jon could ever be.

Did anyone else make sex jokes in their heads when Jackie was talking about letting Ryan see her "pink room" and letting him  see her "secret space"

  8. Matt is a ridiculous human being. I can't believe he was trying to teach that dude a lesson about medical emergencies, he clearly wasn't having it. I was stunned to see him telling that man "brother, I love you...". As soon as you started talking to him, and he said "I'm playing, can't you see I'm playing (dominoes) anybody with 2 functioning brain cells wouldve left that man the fuck alone. Then he's trying to spark up a friendship with Swole talking about "that's my boy" (hard accent on "boy") . Then to top it off his was absolutely convinced that his brief show of his MMA chops scared the shit out of Tebow and now his KING OF THE POD.

It's hilarious that he thinks his son is so weak and fragile and gonna get his ass kicked, when it's HIM that's constantly putting himself in danger. People don't understand it, but its true, shy quiet people like Andrew sometimes have the ability to almost always stay out of trouble because they have the amazing power to disappear. No one cares to start trouble with them because the honestly forget some of they exist. The only problem is that because it's prison, a SUPER MACHO environment, he's been pegged as gay in the next episode (which will probably die over soon, like all those times in previous seasons where inmates already had participants pegged as informants), but ordnarily, he'd be overlooked.

  9. I like Jepthe, but he's too cold for this type of thing. Granted, Shawneice is being too sensitive about his use of the word "stranger" (she IS a stranger and he DOESN'T know her), the girl is just trying to relax and have fun with the guy and he's so dead to it all.

LOL at Ryan and Jacklyn having sex. Didn't see that from either of them. Jon seems like the type who would want to, so does Shawneice. But neither Ryan or Jackie peg me as the types who would even be open to the idea.

And i think it's interesting that the couples get to meet each other through the experiment. it's interesting to see

OMG - Unfiltered.  Jamie's eyes got wide when talking sex and ball gag.  I thought she was going to jump on Jons lap right then and there.  Her expressions are horrible.  And those shoes and outfits .. Ugh.  Is production that cheap that they can't find a decent interviewer?  Half hour was way too much.

I think they used her because it's no secret that Jamie is interested in working in TV

@PityFree, I agree about the pills, it's so disgusting that they costume something that has been in someone's mouth. What I don't understand is that every season the inmates doing this with their medication has been a problem, so why haven't they changed the way they distribute them? It seems like they've done nothing to improve the problems  that the previous seasons has pointed out.

I also don't understand how they don't have more deaths related to mixing so many medications together. I'm always afraid that a new medication will interact with something I'm already taking. I Googled the medications they said they were drinking and none of them seem to be recreational drugs that you get high from.  I don't get it. What I really don't get is when my uncle was in prison he said that at least half of the inmates were on meth. Why the hell would someone want to stay awake 24 hours a day in prison?!

These are drug addicts. they don't care what it is or where it's from. They'll take anything to get some kind of high. Out of someone mouth or worse...whatever it takes.

I don't understand why they don't chae the way the distribute medicatiions either. Why can't they do it the way the do in some hospitals and make the inmates prove that the swallowed it. Like open up your mouth and lift your tongue kind of stuff?

Stephanie taking whippits "It's like candy to me and I can't stop. It's addictive'

Me: ITS DRUGS YOU DUMB BITCH

Look at her eyes. she looks out of it in her interview pieces.

  11. Angele? HOT? I don't know man, prison is weird. She looks just as messed up and slightly masculine as some of the other inmates. I get pretty girls like Stephanie wouldn't be all the rage in prison, but I don't get what it is about Angele that is so attractive.

I was dead when Stephanie was like "I'll throw Jaclin under the bus i a minute---cause i want to win". WIN WHAT STUPID? This isn't a contest. There's on prize at the end of this. And didn't she say she never has female friends? I think i understand why.

  12. started out late, but all caught up now. :)

    thoughts so far....

Matt and Andrew: Matt looks the part but its laughable how weak and helpless he thinks his son is and that he thinks he's primed to get his ass kicked in there---but encouraged him to go, "to toughen him up". Dude's insane. I was floored when he started talking about him saying hes painfully shy and awkward, etc. I would be so embarrassed  if my father was on national TV talking like that. Then in the newest episode, he got all antsy and anxious to talk to Andrew and then went to the door between pods asking for him...not suspicious at all. Also, Matt's super dramatic when he talks to producers.

Angele: this whole time I was thinking who's the one the warden's talking to saying that they've ruined the program and such. I just a little bit thought it might have been Nathan (that white dude is so full of himself and proud that he fits in with all these black dudes in this rough environment) but when she was talking about how she's gonna have issues with the CO's more than the inmates and then she said "yall (the producers) are gonna be like, we need to get Angele out of there", I KNEW IT WAS HER

  13. Sheila says that her fights with Nate are very low ...clips show that that's mostly her. She's always the one saying/doing very hurtful/petty/spiteful things or shutting him out completely. She needs a bit of my favorite Dr. Phil advice. "Language is powerful". She says dramatic things like "I don't want to be married to you", then takes it back later.

Watching the scene when Danielle  couldn't find Cody, I joked to my self "he's probably masturbating. Youre certainly  not giving him any" And sure enough...

Can't believe Danielle was shocked that Cody doesn't trust her. Girl, you won't have sex with...or barely even touch the dude. It's not not just about sex, you've given hook a clear sign of rejection. And she keeps talking about all the "work" she's doing with him. You're not working at your marriage. You're jogging with him and shit. That's not work. We've clearly established that you can be friendly with him. It's not work if your in your comfort zone.

  14. People were all like "Ashley's so pretty, why is she single"...lol, we all know now. She's paranoid. Whenever the experts give her generic marriage advice she's like" why are you saying that...did Anthony say something? It's hilarious and also a little scary.

I'm not saying I'm a man whore, but I've had sex with people I've known less and liked less than Danielle knows and likes Cody. The longer this lasts and the more they talk about it, the more awkward it gets. Just jump the man and call it a day.

  15. Does anybody else think Cody is so physically awkward it makers them cringe? It's so hard to watch him walk and move sometimes. I don't know why.

The contrast between Sheila's dog and Danielle's dog made me laugh embarrassingly hard,

Other than the fact Cody and Danielle have not had sex, how has he been less than "manly"?  The zipline thing is no big deal.  Many people have a fear of heights.

    I can't figure this out.

I was thinking the same thing. A hesitation to zipline doesn't make someone a wimp. Not being a thrill seeker doesn't make you not a man.

Danielle seems to overthink things to me. She's still worried about Cody and her dog's behavior...something he's made it clear he doesn't care about and even when he simply decided he didn't feel like going out and sat on the couch... she was saying,"Is it me? Is it something I said? Why is he like this? I don't want to have to be the one to get him out of his comfort zone. This is not what I thought being a wife would be like. Maybe he's not the one or me"

  17. Danielle: I don't feel a sexual spark or any sort of sexual chemistry with Cody

also Danielle: WHY WON'T CODY HAVE SEX WITH ME?!?!?!

    ---

Ashley's sister is pushy and scary

    ---

Sheila's dad is stupid and annoying, I get that he thinks this wedding was a family celebration, and normal weddings are, but this was a tv wedding, and she was limited to invite 25 people. I totally get how when including your closest family members and your own friends, your sister's boyfriend doesn't make the cut. I'm actually almost positive when she included her sister in the invites, she invited the boyfriend as well...until she realized that there was one more very special person to her that would've been number 26, so sisters boyfriend had to go.

Lol at "having my brother live with us should be no big deal". Do we think the experts considered this before matching Nate and Sheila together?

On 5/4/2017 at 9:19 PM, VanSensei said:

Same show that said "we paired them because they'd be sexy together". They don't think things through.

Same show that paired a real estate agent who wanted a home to reflect her success...to a man who lived in a converted van.

I think its obvious, these kinds of situations are added to the show for drama.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Shelia isn't as thrilled with the idea that Nate's brother is going to be living with them as she would have us believe.  I think she is just saying all the right things for the camera.  She didn't appear the slightest bit upset about not having the big O, but after his revelation, her demeanor and attitude seemed to have changed.

I don't think she's "thrilled" about it but I don't think she's lying or putting on for TV. I think she just may be a kind caring person who truly does honestly see the big picture of it---that it's nice that he takes care of his little brother. Even though CLEARLY it's not the IDEAL situation. She has to make peace with it. She said it herself, she also can't be that bitch who tries to kick is brother out.

  19. sooooo late on this, but my first impressions on each couple

Ashley and Anthony: super suprised that Ashley instantly liked him so much. I don't expect it because in my eyes, he's about a 5 and she's an 8. I was afraid we'd have a rocky start, but i like them both

Nate and Sheila: Disaster. This is Tres and Vanessa part two. A really sweet girl wanting to find the love of her life, and a dude who considers himself a "player" and even though he claims he wants a wife, there are red flags.

Cody and Danielle: I've got nothing. they don't really stand out at the moment
