  1. God help me but I actually like Cardi B. She embraces her ridiculousness and seems to put people at ease as long as she doesn't have beef with folks and she's not trying to snatch their wigs.

I like her too. Things with her don't seem to heavy and she seems like a lot of fun. But honestly, I can only listen to her speak for a short amount of time. The way she talks...I can't.

Yandy makes bad fashion choices...and relationship choices, life choices, just bad choices all around.

Yandy is one of those girls who has it all, smart, successful, wealthy...but they don't want a man on their level, they don't even want a man higher than them. They go for guys who are beneath them so they can control them and take care of them and be in charge. Of course, on a sub conscious level.

  2. It was interesting though that Sam kept saying Neil was acting for the cameras.

Don't even get me started on that. She's worried he might be faking being so nice because of the cameras...but at least that says a little something about him. She doesn't even have the sense to pretend to be a good person for the camera.

  3. Ashley seems to be warming up to David a little, enough to make jokes and laugh at his. Although, when David said he'd rather not live close to Ashley's "old" house because she may escape there to "study" and separate from him and she seemed a little offended and wondered why he would think of such a thing---I lol'ed because, DUH!. she's practically done it twice already. She has a clear track record of separating herself from him. She slept in a different room on their honeymoon and went back to her house while we went back to his when the honeymoon was over. I say that's a legitimate concern.

  4. My ratings, physically and personality wise combined

    Sam - 0

    Ashley - 7

    Vanessa - 5

    Neil - 7

    David - 7

    Tres  - 7

I thought it was a backpack.  He said it was and I saw him wearing one. I hope so .  II couldn't defend a "murse".   And while I'm remembering that part of the Ep.,  why would Sam want to bring her toothbrush to the dentist office?

I agree the beard is too stark.  It makes his lips look strange.  5 o'clock would be good.  But actually it's his huge shiny forehead  that is most out of balance and weird.  He needs to un-grease that hair, let it grow, and balance the bottom half of his face.

There must be a nasty ad on this page. my computer keeps jamming.

I think Neil is cute but if I had to point out a flaw, I'd just say that his head is oddly long. When I first saw him, no joke, I kinda thought the picture on my TV was distorted.

And people keep saying Neil doesn't have a body, but I don't think that's true. From what I've seen he's got pretty toned, but thin arms. I really think he has more of a swimmer's build. He's skinny, but the muscle underneath is probably well defined.

  5. Do the "Experts" require drug testing in tandem with background checks and the other "extensive" bullshit instruments? Sam has more problems than just her bad personality, bad attitude, bad manners, closely-set beady, crazy eyes and pudgy middle and thighs. I have infinite patience and understanding, but Sam has transformed me into a bitch. I would like to free her sugar gliders and lock Sam in their cage. Then go on vacation.

Are we to believe that the Experts were completely fooled by Sam? Was she able to Dr Jekyll her way through every interview, every questionnaire, every home visit? How?! What does that say about the Experts? Hah

I've tried to defend the experts, their credentials and their professional integrity at almost every turn, but you're so right about this and I can't even begin to defend against it. How does some one with Sam's personality traits slip past them? I don't have any other explanation except for it being on purpose and "crazy bitches make good TV"

Sam. Oy. She's so graceless and ungainly. She wants a "man's man" (whatever that means) but she's not a very womanly woman.

I agree. While some people can argue about "traditional" gender roles, Sam doesn't really put herself out there as a woman who needs to be catered to or cared for. How can someone be your "manly man" of you're 90% of the man in the relationship? If she tried to be more girly and feminine I think Neil's natural gentleman would come out and he's do the things she's talking about. I can't imagine anything more unlikely then any man falling over himself to take care of a woman who's already called him ugly and wimpy. I'm not even sure that's what she wants anyway, what she seems to want is some kind of grown up frat boy jock. With the way she acts, I don't think those men would really be checking for her, they'd just friend zone her and label her as one of the guys.

  6. I'm loving Cynthia and Laree.

Cyn's so pretty and I love that she's sassy and funny and a little bad ass, but at the same time a little kitten.

Laree is gorgeous, I love her hair and her sense of humor. The guy who breaks through her was walls will be very lucky.

I couldn't stop laughing when Tennesha's controlling nature kicked in and she wouldn't even let poor Errol cut a damn strawberry.

And maybe women are the exception to Jae's age rule because Nnekka looks about her age.

  7. Sam is honestly one of the most terrible people I've seen in a long time. She's rude, she's childish, she has no way with words at all (like really, how could she not realize some of the things she was saying to Neil were extremely insulting and emasculating). When Neil asked why she thought they were matched together, she cites that they BOTH are so kind and considerate (I've yet to see that side of her). She won't admit when she's wrong or at fault, when Neil was telling her that she made him angry, she completely ignores the fact that she said something that hurt someone else and focuses on the TIME he chose to tell her.  Even her apologies are shit. "I'm not sorry I think you're a weak ass pussy boy, I'm sorry I said it to your face"

How can one person be so flawed? I'd be personally pissed at the experts for matching me with this psychopath

  8. I wonder how "luxury" are the cars he sells? Rolls Royce or Acura? These shows exaggerate the jobs so much.

What was Ryan D? A "business owner" but there was really no business?

He's an Audi salesman. They said it in the first episode. A while ago I noticed that the show only labeled him as a "luxury" car salesman and I assumed they were avoiding brand names like tv shows usually do for all those advertising/legal reasons.

I don't think they exaggerate though, I just think they try to make people sound reasonably successful. I also think they just try to stay slightly vague by using simpler, non specific titles

But Ryan D owned a gym. while "business owner" makes it sound a little bigger, it's not a complete lie.

  9. Also the body language of Tres is very telling. HE WANTS OUT! did you all not see it? Vanessa was hanging all over him and his body language was showing that he did NOT feel the same way. Watch the last 2 scenes with them and watch his body language and watch her.

I think Tres likes her, but she's just a super physical person and even though he's into her, he's maybe not used to being touched, rubbed, fondled and kissed so often. (Have you noticed the weird way she's always rubbing his stomach?)

I also kinda thought she was drunk in the scene at the beach bar from the way she was leaning on him and the weird look in her eyes. Maybe that's why he seemed a bit distant.

  10. I felt like Ashley wasnt even trying most of this episode and was too focused on all the awkwardness of the situation to even begin to start to grow closer to David.

I feel for her because she seems a lot like me. I'm very introverted and could totally see myself reacting to every situation she was in in the same way, but I'm would have seen and appreciated how hard David was trying to make things work that I would have forced myself to talk more or be more open with him.

I really think she at times could have given intimacy a little nudge by doing something as small as asking David to hold her hand on a short distance walk. Anything to not wallow in the "he's a stranger, I don't know him" mindset.

I'm glad something in her seemed to have shifted by the end of the episode and she decided to open up to him. I hope she keeps it up because David seems like such a sweet heart.

  11. Has anyone mentioned the dent in Ashley's forehead yet?

Some people apparently talked about it online and Ashley's mother explained that it was due to being born with a tumor and having it removed. Her full explanation id on the discussion page for the 2nd episode (The Weddings). Personally, I never noticed it until I saw people talking about it. Even then I barely see it and I'm surprised that anyone else could

  12. I think Martians are simply the personification of their namesake, not a symbol of any modern day country or its policies.

Amos is such an irritating character. I won't be the least bit bothered if he dies.

  13. Nobody knows what form future language will take of course, so they just pick a language randomly to represent it. The Jamaican lilt when speaking English is a good compromise - signals difference yet is still understandable. I think it's cool that they try, years ago everybody would have just spoken standard US English in such a show. Martians still speak English though. Have to strike a balance, can't be subtitling major characters.

I think an acceptable amount of made up modern slang words would've been more realistic for everyone in the time period and some regional slang for Martians and Belters. A little context would've been enough to teach the audience what the words meant. When watching I just think it's weird that people are so easy to understand and the English hasnt changed much in the time that's passed.

But it doesn't really matter because I'm not a pro at this, but I really admire that they were detailed enough to consider any changes in language at all.

  14. I understand Belters having their own language (though it seems early) why is it so clearly heavily influenced by French and actual Creole?

I just feel that by likening the Expanse to GoT, you are (potentially) setting up unrealistic expectations from people who are fans of GoT/ASoIaF but not necessarily The Expanse. I'm not trying to say they don't have thing things in common (like the politics, etc) just that I don't like, in general, when marketing tries to sell product A as Product B in whatever difference, because often times it's just a marking ploy to draw in viewers, who then may be turned off when it doesn't fit a certain criteria. If they would just say "fans of GoT might like this because of all the political maneuvering" or "BSG fans might like this because it's a space opera" I wouldn't care.

That's honestly the one of the biggest reasons on the list of way I began watching. I don't see it yet, but I guess the comparison will be more obvious as the show goes on, like GOT.
  15. I'm kind of confused about this. Shouldn't people date a lot before they get married? Do most people only date one or two people, then get married? Is Tres a player or does he just date a lot?

He just dated a lot. Vanessa is angry because like a lot of women she spent a number of years looking for very serious, non casual, marriage oriented relationships, and came to the show as a last resort, while Tres, like most men even though they DO want to get married, wasnt so serious about all of the relationships he was in. She thinks he basically only used the show for a quick marriage.

  16. I laughed and laughed when he came out his his "big spoon" footie jammies! He is HILARIOUS. I love his deadpan humor. I love how patient and unflappable he is. I thought Sam was outdoorsy and athletic? Neil, game as hell, jumping in to the water. Sam, whining and cringing and wondering why Neil wasn't checking on her. I cannot with this girl.

That part killed me tbh. She was mad at him for not checking up on her and catering to her needs but... but she had just told him how unattractive she thought he was just a few hours before that. She's lucky he didn't let her drown. Neil said it didn't hurt that much and he understood... but he's human and he has feelings and the person who he was a matched to marry, a person he LIKES doesn't like him

  17. I think I missed something. What did Trey say to Vanessa that led her to conclude he wasn't ready to be married?

She got the impression that he simply used the show to meet a compatible person and get married quickly as opposed to someone who spent the years up to the show in only very serious marriage directed relationships.

I know this is a TV show and people have a lot of criticisms for it but I believe they check how serious these people are

  18. At least Jamie didnt look Doug straight in the face and say she didn't find him good looking under the guise of some "I respect you and want to be honest BS"

whatever happens with Sam and Neil, I have to say I respect him and Doug because I could never be happy and secure around a women who have been matched with me in a situation like this after she made it clear that she thought I was ugly

  19. He was a male model; I'm sure he spends an inordinate amount of time looking in the mirror, ha ha

That explains his rather muted reactions and composure. Sometimes models or people obsessed with their looks never want to be caught with too big a smile on their face of a weird facial expression that may be even temporarily unattractive. The overuse of make up which someone noted earlier suppprts that.

I always did think he was good looking though...I also think he's gay

  20. I feel so bad for Neil, I think he's adorable and he's just gushing over Sam and she's not even kind enough to be cordial to him at first. I felt pretty bad when she said stuff like "I was thinking even if I didn't find my husband attractive, I'd find him just a little attractive... and I don't" and "when I wake up in the morning, maybe none of this will be real"

Even when they were being asked about consumating the marriage on the wedding night and was said" no I did not consummate the marriage last night, I wall not consummate the marriage tonight, tomorrow night or the night after that"

Oh my gosh, I'm gonna edit this post 1000 times adding all the rude things she said and did. Long story short is she is an adult but she's acting like a child. She's too old to not know how to cover her emotions to avoid being rude and hurting someone's feelings

  21. I remember Dr. Pepper talking about how Ryan and Jessica would be a good match because they looked "sexy" together. Davina and Sean were matched because they were both bullied. The experts are incompetent.

oh yeah...I completely forgot those, but i knew they had some ridiculous reasons for other couples too

but the thing is, I don't believe that the experts are incompetent, or atleast i don't want to. I keep trying to conivince myself that the footage of the experts talking about bigger more serious reasons as to why couples were matched were considered by producers "boring" or for some other reason were cut and didn't make it on tv.
