  1. What really gets me is that the mascots for professional sports teams make around $50,000 a year. I don't know how much of that is base versus what they get for appearances, but I highly doubt they pay for themselves. It's something the team does because it adds to the fan experience, like fireworks during a touchdown. Sure the DCC provide a revenue stream, but the Cowboys can certainly afford to dip into their profits to pay what that doesn't cover. They'd just rather not.

And I would certainly hope the All Stars get paid! That Six Flags gig seemed like a total slog and I don't know why anyone would do that for free.

  2. The only thing I don't understand is the point of learning those dances if they aren't performing them anymore.

I wonder about this too. Any time we've seen them perform as the show group it's always with their regular uniforms and poms, which makes sense because if I'm paying the DCC to perform I want them in their "iconic" uniforms.

  3. What does going to the Pro Bowl involve?

When Whitney went I think there was video of Kelli making the announcement and saying that it was a lot of work because you need to learn several new routines to perform during the week and during the game.

  4. Did anyone see the hilarious photo of Sam Finglass telling Kelli she got accepted into Columbia U?

I was curious about this because I got into a pretty good (although not Ivy League) college early admission and I heard in December. I looked and Columbia's early decision time is mid-December. Is Sam applying to start in the spring or something? I know someone said she got into A&M and honestly I hope she goes to Columbia. She seems so smart and ambitious I think it would be a great challenge for her to have such a new environment.

  5. Football players>>>>everyone else as far as what's happening on the field. That's something I knew even as a marching band member in HS, Remember what happened to Melissa Kellerman after she was knocked over by Jason Witten and joked about it on Twitter? I'd be surprised if the cheerleaders on every team aren't told to never interfere with anything a player is doing. The football game isn't being staged to showcase the cheerleaders.

  6. I don't like that they dragged out the evaluations for so long, either ignored certain candidates during that time (one of them said she'd never been called into the office), encouraged others to keep trying (Taylor), and then cut them so close to the end. As others have said, it was a bloodbath, and I think they did it strictly for TV.

I got this impression too and it really bugged me, especially with Taylor. But I guess it wouldn't be much of a show if they cut everyone on the first night.

  7. I also don’t get what Kitty meant by Melissa’s dancing being “severe.”

It honestly didn't sound like an insult to me. I think she just meant that Melissa is always intense. I don't watch her and think "gosh she's so adorable" like I would with Holly, but she's still an incredible dancer.

I loved seeing Robin, even if it was for a few seconds. She's so young I think she has the potential to get better and better -- I could totally see her as a group leader someday.

  8. I fall into the Rose is pretty camp, but she reminds me of a good friend of mine who is absolutely gorgeous. However I don't know if she's a good fit for the team. She was saying all the right things in Kelli's office, but she looked like she wanted to kill them. I think it's possible to do a job you love for a boss you don't like, but K&J aren't normal bosses and they don't have normal expectations. If Rose made it into the team next year I think she'd get labeled "toxic" like Kelsi and eventually booted or they'd just make her life miserable.

  9. When I think of low kicker K&J probably regret it's Lani, who either ran off the field before the kickline or didn't even perform in pre-game. I don't remember if that was a particularly weak crop of rookies or what, but they've had enough strong dancers that you'd think they'd not mess around with that anymore.
