This is where Disney tossing out the extended universe screwed up Luke's character big time. Hell, I watch The Mandalorian and, ignore the sequels, I just pretend The Mandalorian is the connector better ROTJ and The Heir to the Empire both take place in 9 ABY.

On a side note I highly recommend the Timothy Zahn (Thrawn Trilogy) that is IMO, the Star Wars Sequels we deserved.

I don't think that's what she was saying at all. She was saying that Baby Yoda had a lot of fear and anger and she's seen how that lead the best of them, her brother and mentor Anakin to turn to the dark side. As for the he's attached to Din part I don't think she discouraged the attachment at all. I thought it was her way of saying I can't take him from you to train him, he'll just end up like Anakin.

That’s how I took it too. Ahsoka knows first hand what happens when people are taken from their loved ones to become a Jedi. She has even seen a positive relationship with a reluctant Jedi Knight teaching within a family unit. I took her refusal to take Grogu as a moment of reflection and learning from past Jedi mistakes. But I’m just surprised she didn’t give Din more information about the Jedi. Or offer to go with him to the Jedi Temple to fill in him in on more things he should know.

This can play out a few ways:

    • Moff Gus gets Grogu but loses the Darksaber. Bo takes it back to Mandalore but leaves some troopers to help Mando recover Grogu
    • Mando finally kills Gus after an epic 1 v 1, but Thrawn suddenly arrives to steal Grogu AND the Darksaber

A couple episodes ago, I thought this season would end with Din and Bo taking back the Darksabre and next season having Din help with taking back Mandalore. Now I’m not sure if both these episodes (with Bo Katan and Ahsoka) are backdoor pilots or really do have to do with Din and Grogu’s journey.

If Thrawn does appear out of nowhere and gets Grogu, hope it ends with him being put in a cell which happens to have Ezra in it-and he exclaims “Baby Yoda?” as the scene ends 😂

I do love the Star Wars theme of ‘Found Family’ but I was also hoping by this point the Clan of Two would have expanded by now. I know not a lot can live on the Razor Crest together, but I’m surprised its still just Din and Grogu.

Thrawn and his minion are doing the "Spartacus-crucified-Appian-Way" on a smaller scale. No way Ezra would partner up with Crassus.

Not to mention Thrawn essentially took out Ezra’s mentor, so I just can’t see that pairing either. I could see a begrudging partnership to survive but nothing beyond that. If Grand Admiral Thrawn is back, I wonder if Gideon works for him. Which makes me wonder what is up with Ezra just because they’re chasing The Child for it’s blood-is Thrawn protecting him from the experiments? Or does Thrawn not know/is not attached to this story really at all and this was a backdoor pilot.

I’m really curious on a timeline right now between this show and the epilogue of Rebels. I was hoping to see Sabine with Ahsoka, even if it was at the end of the show with her popping out to say “What did you find out?” But now, now I wonder if this took place before the epilogue.

Is anyone wondering if Din is Force sensitive too? Like he’ll hear the call at the Jedi temple? He has remarkable reflexes. I always thought he was a child of Jedha because of all the red everyone wore in the scenes when he’s rescued as a child. Filoni loves all things vintage Lucas, and the Whills and Guardians are something that haven’t made it into mainstream yet(beyond what we saw in Rogue One). Especially since the Darksabre is in play, and its origins just makes me wonder if next episode, he also hears something in the Jedi Temple.

  4. Ahsoka Tano! Front and center! With her white lightsabers. My only minor complaint is the same I had last season, the head montrals and head tail are not amazing. That aside, I can’t believe she’s finally in the live action world! Loved her outfit. Her ghost like movement in the woods were great.

The Child has a name! And was raised on Corusant. Jedi’s hiding their abilities as a child seems to be a Filoni staple. First Kanan and now the Child.

I kinda wish Ahsoka had told Din more about being a Jedi. She’s kinda leaving Din with a lot of unknowns for raising a Force user. But sending him to a Jedi temple, that’s interesting.

And to the name drop of Thrawn! Loth Cats! This is the second episode that really world builds and lays the groundwork for either other shows or what could be coming down the pipes for Din. First its Bo Katan’s mythos, the Dark Saber and the battle for Mandalore. Now its Ahsoka looking for Thrawn. Backdoor pilots?

I thought for a moment we were going to see Ezra Bridger with all the Loth Cats running around (seriously, I know its probably just fan service but those cats on different planets just get me smiling). Should we assume Ezra is still missing or dead if Ahsoka is looking for Thrawn? No Sabine with her either.

I wonder if Ahsoka is going to follow Din to the next planet to use the Child as bait to see if it lures out Ezra? Or Luke-paging Sebastian Stan! Or even Cal? Is there another Jedi in canon that has survived? Or even Jedi Ghosts in the temple? Yoda? Anakin? Obi Wan? The possibilities are endless....

With this episode we have seen every scrap of trailer footage.  We know nothing about the remaining four episodes.

I think that’s how last season was too, the trailer was only for the first half of the season. I thought last episode set up a lot of potential for future episodes so I’m not surprised the trailer only showed up to this episode.

Loved the beginning with The Child in the ship helping Din. The equivalent of “hey, you have small hands/arms, come help” from a parent so that was amusing. So was Din drinking his soup and The Child looking upwards to see under his helmet. Feeling like that was pretty loose choice for Mando. All we saw last season was a peek of his wrist 😂. Really though, if he doesn’t take off the helmet in front of even The Child, when does he do it? Not even when he sleeps?

Loves this episode. Really action packed. That ending, whew. I think the last episode is going to be one giant fight-yikes I hope Mando has enough friends for that!

    Spoiler

I feel like I’m missing something; what is Rosario Dawson’s relationship to this show?

    Spoiler

Rosario is rumored to be playing Ahsoka Tano.

Someone realized the Razor Crest falling is almost shot for shot match for Apollo 13 and their reentry scene. Like father like daughter. Here’s the tweet with a side-by-side view of the two.

  7. So after today’s episode and it being confirmed that Din was most likely raised

    Spoiler

in an offshoot of Death Watch or even Death Watch itself

I figured here would be a better spot to speculate who The Armorer is. Do you think she’s someone we’ve already seen before in Clone Wars or even Rebels? Do you think that the other Mandos we saw in season one were from Clans we know about?

*spoiler is for today’s season two episode three just in case you haven’t watched yet.

  8. I spent that entire episode squealing. Mandalorians! Bo Katan! The blue armor, the owl helmet. I loved it all. I totally get if people haven’t watched Clone Wars or Rebels you don’t have that attachment but dang, my heart was on fire. Bo Katan also apparently does not age 😂

I loved that Din was faced with Mandos not of his clan. I can’t wait to see more of his upbringing compared to what we already know about Mandalore. I feel like we’re setting the stage for the last episodes, if not also next season. Is Din going to end up helping Bo Katan take back Mandalore? I’m guessing the end of this season will be getting back the Dark Sabre. I am pumped.

Ahsoka Tano. Are we really going to see you?

I now 100% doubt Sasha Banks is Sabine. Her armor was all blue. Her hair wasn’t colorful. She’s a different Mando-which I LOVE. Get it girl-I hope she’s gets a name.

  9. I hate multi-leggers. Were these creatures actually Krykna? They looked and acted just like them from Rebels. Mando is lucky they didn’t web his ship down.

I had a real hard time understanding the pilot rebels at the beginning. Jon and Filoni seem like they’re friends so I’m not surprised that he had Filoni back in the pilot’s seat again.

People on Twitter are really bagging on this episode-they want more plot that has to do with The Child and the quest. Personally, this episode was fine to me. With what it sounds like a Mandalorian Purge (The Night of a Thousand Tears), and Mando’s lack of knowledge of other clans, I’m not surprised we’re seeing him struggling to find other Mandos.

This episode had a ton of scenes from the trailer too. I wonder (I’m unspoiled) if the next episode is going to have Dune and Greef in it.

I think he’s too young to be a clone. The clones age faster than normal. That combined with the location and armor seemingly leaves only Boba.

Unless they found a way to slow or reverse their aging process. The Kalaminos figured out how to make them age fast, they could have macguffened a way to slow it down or reverse the aging process. I mean honestly, it would be more fun to guess which Clone/Fett we’re seeing then it just being Fett.

  11. Happy Mandoween! What a great episode. I am so happy episodes are only dropping once a week.
Loved Timothy Olyphant. Like, PLEASE bring him back. Holy silver fox Batman. Loved him going “one moment” when the dragon rolled into town.

I wonder how many times Din worked with the Tusken Raiders previous to the things we’ve seen before with them and Din. He’s not using real ASL sign language right as the Tusken language? This is just made up hand signals right?

I also loved the opener. I was wondering if they showed so much of that fight in the trailers because it was in the first episode. I kinda wish they would drop the planet or moon name of this place. Loved the graffiti, the fight house and the wild weird animals at the end. I have been WAITING for a punch to the helmet so I was laughing with joy throughout the fight.

Sooooo, how far into Star Wars can we speculate with that ending? Can we refer to other shows like Rebels or Clone Wars too or do we have to spoil/hide it? Because Temuera Morrison could be Fett. Or he could be

    Spoiler

Any of the surviving clones right? I mean Fett seems like the super obvious answer. But what if he’s Cody?! I mean Kanan talked about in Rebels how the Clones “claimed” they had the chips and they were turned on which means at some point the story got out about Order 66 and possibly the Clones were able to escape their Clone life post Order 66. The way Kanan stated it really seemed that way. Or was Temuera looking too young? Rex, Wolffe, and Gregor looked pretty old in Rebels. And we know Rex fought at Endor.

Yay! Season 2 of Virgin River is dropping in November. I can hardly wait to see Jacks wardrobe (Vey Eddie Bauer) and all the winter scenery. That said, I actually hate the cold and winter anymore. I think it’s because I’m just old and cranky. LOL!!!! I hope they drop the drug storyline and the people living in the woods. I like my town of Virgin River with everyone nice to each other. See everyone in November.

I’m happy its coming back too. I got a text from my Mom asking about me being free the day after Thanksgiving, and then later I saw the news. I asked her if she wanted to hangout to binge Virgin River and if that was her plan the whole time-LOL.

  14. This news makes me so so SO happy!

Deadline Article (casting news for those who want to be super unspoiled).

I knew we wouldn’t get Hardison full time because proudly Hodge is a lead on his own show, but this makes me squee for two reasons. Female Hacker! And we might get NANA! If Nana is some sort of geeky hacking goddess I am SERIOUSLY going to die happy.

The article also tells us what Noah’s character will be too.

It's been a month since this story broke-- any Cas Anvar news?  Still investigating?

AFAIK they have the set well in place, and this cast seems pretty dedicated, so I could see them re-casting Alex and going back to re-shoot and re-edit.  On the other hand, if we excise every piece of art the production of which involved a bad person, there might not be all that much left.

I could understand them airing with a disclaimer but I'd hate to see it.

So its almost been two months, anyone hear anything about Cas Anvar and his role on The Expanse?

Anyone know if they had filmed season two pre covid? I’m trying to get an idea of how long we would be waiting for a season two.

Although, even if they didn’t tape the newest season prior to Covid19, Netflix changed their final screen after the last episode now says “New season of Virgin River coming soon.” So at least there’s that.

I too was surprised they didn’t turn into children like then of S1 suggested.
I wonder why they showed up at different times.  I guess that’s one way to reset Vanya.

I was disappointed too that they weren’t kids, but now I think maybe the ending of season one was my symbolic with the shot of them as kids. For one fleeting second, Five looked around and saw the family he left. The family that finally came back together on their terms.

Loved all of the reentries of the siblings. Luther’s literally made me laugh out loud. I was surprised we saw the siblings and their powers so suped up. Vanya was badass.

  18. Wow. That was a lot. I loved Coulson and Daisy together and I really liked seeing their two sides of the same death coin. That was emotional for a show that had death jokes the entire time. I actually really hate LMD Coulson so I like that he’s irritated about it as well. My unspoiled guess is that Coulson is done for after this season-which is fitting for the show. It starts bc Fury brought back Coulson, it bookends with everyone letting Coulson go.

I really like Daisy and Sousa. I feel slightly cheated that their emotional conversation is lost to Sousa (and their first kiss?) but I finally feel that Daisy has someone who compliments her. I never liked any of her other relationships, but Sousa is awesome. I really need more Enver Gjokaj on my screen. I hope he just keeps finding gems of shows or movies to be in.

I really miss Fitz. He is going to show up at some point before its over right? RIGHT?!

Oh, wouldn't that be nice! I still miss Trip. 😞 I just did a complete show re-watch and was sad to remember just how early we lost him, how little time we actually had with him.

The crux of the season so far seems to be about not changing the past, though, and saving Trip would be a pretty big change to make in terms of their own personal timelines.

What if they save Trip, but bring him forward in time? I would appreciate a loop for them to jump through to save him.

Part of me is wondering if that’s what they do with Sousa tonight. Save him, have his death be faked and he moves forward with them in time.

I now wonder if we’re going to see Carter at the end of this series talking to Coulson about how she tracked them through time. Or maybe in the middle. Wouldn’t it be WILD if we see Cap or any Avenger? I know we probably won’t but everyone though that’s how this story was going to start right? Guest appearances?

  20. The Umbrella Academy on Instagram has released images from Season Two. They look great!

    Spoiler

I was surprised by a couple of them-Vanya is with the group, Diego is the the uniform. Sometimes from the pics you look like you can pick up stuff from the season, but I literally have no idea.

I’ve seen the pics on actor’s instagrams and on the Umbrella Academy account. I’ve seen different ones shared on different accounts so if you want to take a peek, make sure you hit up the different accounts.

This is speculation, but seriously if we don’t get Grandpa Triplett, I’m going to be seriously bummed. I’m hoping that’s one of the surprise appearances Gregg wouldn’t spoil. And of course Peggy Carter, and I hope LMD Coulson loses his literal bolts if he meets her.

And if they keep blasting through time, I hope they save Triplett-but if wishes were unicorns and all that. A girl can dream.

  22. I really really hate time travel stories. I really hope they can get out of this timeline cleanly. However, if watching time travel means we get to see Coulson-even as an LMD, geek out about seeing history play out while traveling through History, I’ll cope with the time travel. Coulson loving all things vintage is what I loved about him in Season One, so it was enduring to see that side of him again.

Anyone know how long Ian was out for during this season? I hate that the team being split, even if its just Fitz in a different period of time. Also, did May know Enoch last season? I really should have done a rewatch...
