  1. I was you-tubing last night and watched a bunch of Project Runway stuff. I can't post links, but it was all easy to find. I may have seen some of the videos on here. So anyway, I watched 10 minutes of Christian Soriano during his  season and a couple of hysterical videos of Michael Kors and some other PR moments. Damn! Were we spoiled or what back then! It's so depressing comparing that to what we have now!

***please note, this is not intended on being a political discussion, just a discussion on this show's premise and our society in general

I am dealing with something like this at work now.  I have been told in closed-door meetings with my boss that I am too "harsh" in dealing with coworkers sometimes (I will fully admit, I have no patience for laziness or stupidity) and when people feel offended, this erases all the good work I do.  I am told that I need to watch out how I am perceived.  How the hell can I control what someone thinks of me?  Even if I were to constantly walk on eggshells around people, the only way I could ever guarantee that I don't offend anyone would be to remain totally silent with no expression on my face.

Is it just me, or do people need to toughen up and stop being so offended all the time?  I like to keep an open mind, so if I am wrong, where am I wrong?  discuss...

Treating your coworkers with respect, dignity, and kindness would very likely not offend them.  Apparently they are uncomfortable around you. Putting more effort into your interpersonal skills does not mean you have to walk on eggshells. I'm sure your boss could give you suggestions and possibly "coach" you, if you will. This is an interesting discussion and I wish you well.

The Rodriguii must have camped out all night on the church sidewalk to be first in line for those seats.

I just read that blog post and it was hilarious. My favorite detail was the "we hooked our RV up in [the Duggars'] driveway."

I'm just envisioning this and this from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation happening this weekend at the Duggars' house, and I can't stop laughing thinking about it.

That's what I originally thought as well, but then where do lilac, pale pink and gray fit in? It's as if Jinger looked at the swatch chart for that dress and said 'just give me one of everything'. I'm really interested in seeing the formal bridal party pics to see how it all comes together.

I work retail, and surprisingly those colors seem to be on-trend this fall, and have to say I'm a fan.

  6. You know, I have been reading this since yesterday, and I'm starting to think I.just.cant. anymore with the Duggars.

#1 Who has 900 people at their wedding? NO ONE! These people are D-list reality TV celebrities. Do they think we're impressed by their "popularity?" Why do they do that? It's tacky as hell and I don't know if I can watch that sh** anymore.

#2 Why was Josh there? Why has he not been shunned? That's about as f**ked up as it gets. Seeing him in a picture from the wedding disgusts me.

I love the snark that goes on here. But this wedding...I don't know...just brought out the worst in me. I may or may not take a break from Duggarland, but snark on everyone!

Yep, this. They'll want a whole season of wedding prep, dress shopping, and plenty of recap episodes about Jinger before the full wedding special. Rumor is that they're getting married this Saturday and I highly doubt they would film and air it so soon afterward.

    Yes, I agree.

Double Dutch was probably my best skill as a kid!

    Loved it!

It's a real shame that the Duggars wouldn't be able to learn such a fun, clean cut, all-American activity because of the damn long skirts and flip flops.

We lived in Arkansas when our kids were small, and we didn't have two nickels to rub together. Believe me, we still managed to scrape up money for well child visits, but I recall getting some if their shots at the county health department to save money. Surely there are similar options available in their county.

For that matter, shouldn't the children be eligible for the state's health insurance program for uninsured kids? I think it's called ARKids in AR.

If I were to find out the Duggars were anti-vaxers, I think my head would officially explode.

Right? Maybe not exactly "anti".  More like, "Vaccines? Wait. What? Can we pick those up at Walgreens? Where I get the xannies. And Aqua Net."

Exactly.  Jinge is currency.  Jim Bob's currency.  And the handshake seals Jinge's passage from the man who stunted her growth from birth to age 23, to the man who is going to take over telling Jinge what to do and how to act, because this is all she knows.  It's disgusting.

The thought bubble over JB's head during that handshake might be:  "Here's my daughter.  I do not want to have to go looking for her.  I have a rental property 10 minutes away from my house, and your future plans will include moving in and working for me.  This is how it's done.  You'll start by cleaning toilets.  I have promoted Bin to trash pick up.  You're welcome."

Jer's thought bubble:  "If you think I'm going to live under your thumb like your other dim-bulb son-in-law, think again.  Unlike your spawn, I have a college degree.  I know more than you, your wife, and all 19 of your kids combined.  Bring it on, Mr. Duggar.  Oh, and Jinge and I front-hug when no one's looking.  All I have to do is throw something shiny for our chaperone to chase and she's on me like peanut butter on jelly.  And for crying out loud, chew a Tic-Tac once in a while, man."

    Jinge's thought bubble: "..........................baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaabe...............................string art."

This is hysterical !!!! "Ben was eating Jinger's TACO!". This got my morning going........

What's next. They drive off in a pink Cadillac? Or take a ride with the "little man in the boat".

    Oh, Duggars.............................you slay me.

I thought I'd been around the block a few times, but that was all news to me!

Here's my question: what with Jeremy's tutorial and all, which I haven't watched yet, does he refer to it as choke the chicken, spank the monkey and/or wax the carrot? I'd be impressed if he did.

  12. First episode of Counting On I've actually watched. Mr. Beaner caught me watching. He said, "I thought those hillbillies weren't allowed to be on any more," referring to JB & M. "Oh, I get it. The show is about the kids but they're sneaking in?" I'm kind of impressed that he picked up on that so fast.  I do believe I have a newfound respect for Jessa. My take on her is what you see is what you get. She's a good mom and a good match for Bin. She's sensible and down to earth. She does what she's supposed to do in Gothardland and doesn't fret about it. It will be interesting to see what the future brings.

If they are hiding it, it's because they see her as flawed.  And that sickens me because I worked with disabled kids and in MY world, they are closer to God than any of us will ever get.

My son has a mild disability. He was in early intervention starting at age 2.  He was able to start regular public school with his peers because of the services he received. I can't say for sure whether or not Josie is receiving services that she is entitled to under the law, but if she is not, it is shameful and sinful.  Thank you for your comment. It made me cry.

  14. I liked the segment with Ben and the football player because the guy had the cutest kid I've seen all week.

Maybe I missed this but do they ever say what Ben does for a living? Does he even have a pretend job? What does he do all day?  Does that ever come up?  I suppose that's true about all of the Duggar adults...do you think the TLC money is enough for all of them to live on.  I don't get the complete lack of a work ethic. It seems unGodly to me.
