  1. With Fulham in the Championship, this will be an odd year for me. I suppose I could pick a random match to watch each week, but I like the idea of following a team on its journey through a season. Maybe a stop gap team for this year that will swap places with Fulham at the end of the season. Obviously QPR are Fulham's rivals, and Leicester may avoid the drop, so .... Burnley? Maybe.

  2. Retta explains the time jump:

What did you think of the time jump? I was so surprised.
I never knew that was going to happen. Here’s the thing: I don’t ever read the script, so I just never read it. I only read what I get when we have to shoot, and because I wasn’t in those last scenes … But I watched the show. Actually, I saw Amy Poehler at Aziz Ansari’s birthday party and she was like, “I’m not working with babies, so I told them we’re doing a time jump so I don’t have to work with babies.”

    Ha, that’s funny!
She was like, “I just had two kids. I’ve had my share of babies for the last three years. I’m not doing another year of babies. Especially triplets.”

    Totally understandable.
Yeah, so that’s why they changed it.

  3.  I only watch Hell's Kitchen in the summer because there's nothing else on

Yeah, I have a few shows like that (HK, Big Brother, Ice Road Truckers). Put them on in the fall, and I'm probably not watching, since there's plenty of other stuff on.

  4. My unpopular opinion is that season 5 was just as good as the previous seasons. I liked how the show handled Leslie as a councilwoman.

I agree. I caught a bunch of S5 reruns on FXX, and they were much better than I remembered.

As far as them ending the show after last season, I don't think that's an unpopular opinion at all. Especially after that finale. A lot of viewers (myself included) were very satisfied with that conclusion, and don't really need another 13 episodes. Oh well. I'll just consider it bonus footage.

  5. Yeah, I don't get the Parks and Rec comparison. I don't think Parks got worse when Leslie & Ben got together, mostly because the show has never been about Leslie & Ben (unlike, say, The Office).

I'm on board the Jake/Amy ship, as long as it doesn't take over the show.

  6. The reboot/moving forward might be a way to try to get more life out of a premise stretched thinly, or give them new situations to react to.  it's worth a shot.

Exactly. I wouldn't be very excited about another season of "Leslie can't get anything done because Pawnee is full of crazy people".  I think they can get one good season out of Leslie working in the Federal Government. (even if it's only 13 episodes)

  7. That finale looked like something written before the show knew if they would be back or not.

According to Mike Schur's interview with Alan Sepinwall, they knew they were getting one more season before they decided to do the reboot. I, for one, am glad that we won't be seeing Leslie & Ben struggle with a high risk pregnancy, dirty diapers, or middle of the night feedings. And apparently, the citizens of Pawnee are being pushed to the background next season. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what the new show looks like.

  8. I imagine that Leslie's pregnancy is part of the setup for the final season. Given the potential series finales they've done in the past (Rock Show, Lil Sebastian, Win, Lose Or Draw, Ben & Leslie) I have faith that they'll end it well.
