Rarely are there players who stay with one team, and if they do that team is usually winning. Does everyone think that Kobe, Duncan, Wade and Jordan would have stayed with their teams if they lost every year? Durant is a nice guy, but was tired of losing and is trying to do what he thinks is best for his career.

If you define "losing" as not winning the championship, then Jordan was on a losing team for 7 years before he finally broke through. What would his legacy be if he had jumped ship to the Pistons, and won his championships there?

KD is free to go wherever he wants, and fans are free to react however they want. Just ask Lebron James.

Or ask Kevin Durant: "Now everybody wanna play for the heat and the Lakers? Let's go back to being competitive and going at these peoples!" - Kevin Durant 2010

You are right. I posted in the wrong forum. My comment was meant fot Hell On Wheels.

No problem. I zipped through Season 3 pretty quickly, and thought I might have missed something.  (I don't watch Hell On Wheels, so I didn't get the reference)

As far as the season goes, I liked it, overall. I agree with those who think that bringing back Grace was kind of a waste. But I liked that there were some actual consequences at the end of the finale, rather than Tommy simply outsmarting everyone. Again.

I am hoping that the Swede is dead. Please let him be dead because I do not think I can stand another episode like this one. Talk about depressing and grim!!!! I don't care what made him a murderous, conniving murderer there was no reason to try and make him a sympathetic character. And the scenes with the soldiers sleeping in the rain with tents with no covering. Who can think of stuff like that??? Well apparently someone but geez...

I don't know if we'll get a 2nd season, but I'm a little unsure of where they could go with it if it does get renewed.  For all the enjoyment I've had watching it this year, it does seem like they've exhausted to possibilities of the show's premise.

I don't think there's any chance of a 2nd season, but I agree with this.

    Loved the meta ending, though.

5000-1. I'm trying to think of a comparable long shot winning the title in a major American sport and I'm coming up empty. This is like the Philadelphia 76ers winning the NBA title next season. (Of course, if the NBA were playing under EPL rules, they couldn't do it, because they'd be relegated to the D-League.)

Yeah, I can't come up with anything, either.  Salary caps and revenue sharing pretty much eliminate the David vs Goliath aspect here. Alan Kulwicki, maybe?

Anyway, congrats to Leicester. I haven't had a PL club to root for since Fulham went down,  so it was fun pulling for the Foxes in the 2nd half of this season.

Spurs really spit the bit the last couple of weeks.

  6. My personal hockey history... I'm not a real fan of the sport, but I do have interest in it. I grew up on Long Island for most of my life and for whatever reason I never liked the Rangers. Of course I knew the players like Gilbert, Giacomin (Eddie! Eddie!), Duguay, etc because I always watched the Sports on the news, but I just hated the team.

Then the Islanders came around and their Dynasty started during my later high school years. The team became such a surprise to the masses on L.I. and the excitement was awesome. That was my team. Love that whole era as it was like nothing I had ever seen. I loved watching their playoff rounds vs the Flyers (I hated them).

I grew up on Long Island and the Islanders were my life. In the summer of '83 (after the 4th Cup), the family relocated to Charlotte. No cable tv, so no more NHL. Don't think I saw another hockey game until 1988. By then, the Hornets had come to town, and I got caught up in that.

Hated seeing the Islanders move to Brooklyn, but it's better than having them become the Quebec Nordiques 2.0. Don't really follow it that much anymore, but I still enjoy it when the Rangers lose.  Further proof that "sports hate" is stronger than "sports love". I guess.

  7. How would that make sense?

Why would Figgis/Pimento take a hit out on himself? Why would Figgis/Pimento out his own operatives in the FBI? Why would Figgis/Pimento agree with the Nine-Nine taking down his own operation? Why would a crime boss personally introduce himself into the NYPD only to extract himself a few weeks later?

Also, Pimento was inserted into Figgis' operation as a UC operative, that means that Figgis was already an established crime boss at time Pimento went undercover in his operation. how could Pimento both be Figgis and then also be the UC cop assigned to go underground in his already running operation?

I agree that Mantzoukas probably won't be around for good, but I don't think it makes sense for him to be Figgis.

Don't try to confuse me with logic.

  8. I am assuming that we will finally see the so far unseen bad guy Figgis next season when they eventually take him down. What are the chances that it will be former SNL and Lazy Sunday partner Chris Parnell considering that Figgis is his character's name on Archer?

My money is on Pimento being Figgis.  I can't see Jason Mantzoukas sticking around for the long term. He's much too "over the top".

  9. I agree that this was more on track; I found it very enjoyable. For me, it really doesn't matter when they get back on track, as long as they get there. Having lost their way for awhile doesn't detract from the solid episodes. I just hope they're renewed and get a chance to grow because the foundation is so very strong.

I agree that this episode was a return to earlier season form. Unfortunately, there's no way this show is getting renewed.

  10. Why do we need 2 hours to discuss yet another Patriots - Broncos game, Patriots - Colts game, Patriots - Steelers game, Broncos - Panthers rematch (I know they face each other in the upcoming season) or the Cowboys schedule? This is so pointless on so many levels.

I agree. They're already talking about the Broncos-Panthers game on Charlotte sports radio. Newsflash - the most important Broncos-Panthers game already happened. And we lost. Beating them in the first week of next season would feel pretty hollow.

  11. ...More random opinions inspired by how much I'm missing this show:

I know most say S2 is the best season, and objectively I'm pretty sure I agree, but it's actually the least rewatchable for me of the series' first four seasons. I can't quite figure out why! It does still have a few episodes that I absolutely love, though.

In keeping with my general 'S4 is sadly underrated!' theme, I have to say that I think Dinner Party is one of the most brilliant episodes of the entire series. Sadly, I once attended a dinner party that bears a frightening resemblance to that one :)

    How about you guys?!

For me, S2 is the least rewatchable because I've seen it so many times.

  12.

I agree with people who say the show is sweet and happy but not funny. I'm not saying a show CAN'T be both, but this show wasn't.

I've seen this a few times, and I'll never understand it. I can't count the number of times this show has made me laugh out loud. Different strokes, I guess.

  13. I like Peyton, but it was time to hang it up. As a Panther fan, I feel like the Super Bowl would've been even more lopsided if the Broncos had started Osweiler.

  14.  JKras did fine and boy was he ripped. (Holy Halperts, Pam must be gettin' some good lovin')

    Or ......
