Instead, it seemed like Roderick and Madeline were already mostly in the clear and had a viable plan in action.

Were they really in the clear? Their "viable plan" was to create an alibi at a bar that didn't exist, with witnesses who didn't exist,

Tyrod Taylor is a backup because some clown stabbed him in the lung.

That was messed up, but the Chargers had just drafted Justin Herbert.  Taylor was headed for the bench, regardless.

I was actually thinking about this this morning when they were playing radio highlight(s) of Christian McCaffrey yesterday.  Are Panthers fans pissed at the organization for letting him go, or are you happy that he is flourishing?

I'd say that most Panther fans are happy he's flourishing. We've never had a Kyle Shanahan here, or surrounded him with the offensive talent that's in SF. For years he was basically our only weapon, and defenses keyed on that.

In short, Panther fans are happy for him because they know he wouldn't be putting up these crazy numbers if he were still here.

Around these parts, we're used to wasting generational talents (CMC, Kuechly. Cam, Smitty, etc)

The black and gold usually takeover stuff like Vegas' Allegiant Stadium, so Carolina would be ones shutout here

Pretty much every visiting fanbase takes over the Panther's stadium. That's what PSL's get you. This was yesterday:

Sounds like they're a little banged up, and without a particularly strong roster to start, it's showing on the field. They've got defensive backs out, and they're starting a rookie and a waiver claim at the guard spots on the OL.

    This is all true.

But we're looking like a bottom-5 team, in a year where we've traded next year's 1st round pick. We let Steve Wilks go because we wanted an offensive-minded coach ... and the offense looks like garbage. And the guy that half the fanbase wanted to draft at #1 (CJ Stroud) is looking pretty good in Houston.

    Fun times.

Rebecca Ferguson really slips in and out of her accent.

Yeah, this was the first episode where it was really noticeable. For me, anyway.

  7. I don't know if the Hornets are going to draft Brandon Miller or Scoot Henderson.

I do know this: Whoever we pick will be an epic bust, while the other will be a perennial all-star. No matter which one we choose.

    This is the way.

Not sure if all the PGA players will be mad.  Happy about the merge.  I'd say no.  However, these moves are anything but a surprise.  I think those that passed on the LIV that didn't hate it while not needing it couldn't care less about this news.  I imagine they'll focus on winning on the tour, not who's playing where

I'm pretty sure they're all pissed. You know there was plenty of behind-the-scenes pleading and cajoling to keep these guys on the PGA tour. Especially in light of the cash that LIV was throwing around. And who ended up taking the money? The PGA Tour.

And the PGA didn't even tell them before announcing it. The guys who stuck around look like suckers.

    Re: Leicester

Is seven seasons between winning the title and being relegated the quickest downfall ever? (Certainly in the EPL era.) Ironically, seven seasons before winning the League, they were mired in League One.

Blackburn Rovers won the Premiership in 1994-95, and were relegated from the EPL after the 1998-99 season.

The Variety article just said “in excess of 8 million”. That just seems like a crazy amount to me for a non-sci-fi show. What are they spending that on?

I believe that the $8 million is what 20th Century (Disney) budgets for production. I'm guessing that would be salaries and the large set pieces (stunts) they do.

Then they turn around and charge Fox $9-10 million per episode. It probably made sense when it was still 20th Century Fox (seasons 1-4), and Fox could control the costs and get paid from syndication. That's gone now.

  11. I'm ok with the cancellation. I can't remember another show that had such a promising start, and went downhill so quickly.

  12. Binged the last three episodes last night. This show has grown on me. I always thought it was funny, but now that the characters have been fleshed out a bit, I'm enjoying it even more (even though McHale is basically doing a softer version of Jeff Winger).

I liked the addition of the "Jack" character, and hope we see more of him.  Just realized that he's also on "Ghosts."

Hope we get a 2nd season.

There is a good reason. Maggie Mull (Martin Mull, who plays Monty, daughter) created Maggie and writes and produces Not Dead Yet

Thanks, I did not know that, but it makes sense now. I enjoyed both shows. Very tonally alike. "Maggie" was kind of a "dead show walking" at ABC, and got shuffled off to Hulu for a burnoff.  So it's cancellation wasn't really surprising.  Glad this show seems to be doing better.

  14. I've been hate-watching this show for the last few seasons, but damn if they didn't stick the landing. This somehow hit me harder than the ending of "This Is Us", which was always the superior show.

Missed last week's episode, so this was a pretty bleak 2-episode binge. But well done. Take care, everyone.

We found this episode to be very flat, with the exception of Marsha Warfield. I think the showrunners are about out of ideas.

    Same.

After Bobby solved his sponsor's murder last episode, I had a feeling of, "Wait, this season's still going on? Why?"

Not putting on gloves AND NOT TAKING OFF YOUR JEWELRY before sticking your hands inside an animal... I will never get over that scene! And yes it was definitely a more skilled task. You'd think the vet would do it herself, or ask the 2nd most skilled person to assist. I think the idea was that since Emily was so excited to be there, the vet was giving her a task like you give on eto a child who "wants to help". But the task was not the kind of thing you ask an untraind preson to do, and ESPECIALLY WITH JEWELRY ON AND NO GLOVES!!

    Eh. It's a sitcom.

If I want accuracy, I'll watch Dr. Pol.

The premise for this seemed a bit flimsy. Usually bands work on songs together and share the credits. That the old hit song was written solely by the drummer and she would get all the proceeds sounds fishy to me. Even if she wrote that song alone and all the credits went to her, performance is part of the package and so every time that song was played on the radio, downloaded, etc. the rest of the band would get money.

    Not really.

The rock and roll landscape is littered with bands that fell apart because one guy (the main songwriter) was making the lion's share of the money.
