Phyllis is showing her true colors, a petty mean girl who likes to feel like the smartest person in the room, even if it means tearing other women, even her own friends and family, down.

I'm divorced now, by my husband's mother was a replica of Phyllis. Everything, not just the smug condescending attitude but also the hair, the clothes, the home decor, even the exact clock in the kitchen area. This show has been chilling for me to watch, especially with the parallel of knowing "a real-life Phyllis" who was a part of the Stop ERA movement. I now see she modeled herself after Phyllis. Your description of her could not be more spot on - a very petty mean girl who gets her power by tearing down others.  God, I'm so glad to be divorced now....  I'm sorry, I know that was my own personal tangent. I just felt the need to share.

Who thought that god awful wig Rose Byrne is wearing was a good idea? 🙄

I find that wig very distracting, and what a shame- right? I am enjoying this series so much, but then comes Rose/Gloria wearing that damn wig and it takes me out of the moment.  I really wish they perfected that better.

  3. I'm sorry, I just cannot get over how annoying I find Heidi with her fake chipper attitude.  I want to drop kick her, but I'd probably throw out my back since I've gotten no exercise during the last 4 weeks.  Tim has also lost his charm, which saddens me because I've always had a soft spot for him.  The judges offer nothing of value, and Naomi looks ready to murder any judge who disagrees with her. I have given this show the ol' college try, but it's just plain boring.

Now about this episode, I loved Megan's outfits, but she chose really bad photos.  The model's foot was front & center in the one pic. It didn't look editorial, but just clumsy.

  4. I'm no fan of Ed, but I gotta say... if I were dating someone who refused to talk about their past relationships, I would take it as a red flag, too.  It's just not OK.  What happened in their past will likely have a lot of bearing on how they handle current/future situations.  And I personally wouldn't be willing to accept a clean STD test in place of open & honest communication.... Now I have the impression Rose may have suffered some horrible trauma- abuse, rape, betrayal? If true, that takes a long time to get over and a lot of patience from future partners. Ed wants an insta-wife, so I doubt he is willing to put in the time & effort to help support her recovery. I feel for her, I really do.  I hope she walks away from Ed, because I don't think he has her best interests at heart.

Marquise's model was under 5 feet tall.  It is unlikely she could fit into any of the shoes on the accessory wall that are intended for models who are close to 6 feet tall.  Had she worn any of them, she would have looked like she was wearing clown shoes.  So, Marquise had to depend on whatever shoes she brought.  Hardly an idiot.

If he's had more than one day, he could have dyed or decorated them.

The accessory wall changes to fit each competition, so that the sizes & styles are more in line with the current challenge & needs. But you are right it’s really hard to find adult looking shoes for such a tiny foot.  I would imagine there were more options than bright white sneakers, though.

He could have done a sexier neckline and a sexier back, plus used a fabric that was more sensual.  The dress was too plain.  I liked the skirt and I liked the straps but the rest was just kind of blah.

Agree 100% everything you wrote.  All night I thought about how he should have created a more sophisticated look for her.  I absolutely hated that eyelet.

    For how ridiculous it was?

I looked at Nancy's pants closer, and what occurred to me is that I had a pair that same style in the mid 80s... that I bought at a renaissance faire. They tied in front and in back, but they were essentially the same. They were fun to wear back in the day and my mom made me a second pair. They were essentially a big square with ties. Nancy's would be a square with fasteners.

We had those in the mid-70's, too.  They were called Wrap-Around Pants.  I think they were inspired by DVF wrap-around dress.

For anyone with Netflix, there is a new show mirroring Project Runway, it’s called ‘Next in Fashion’.  The contestants seem to be more advanced than what we’ve seen on Project Runway.  It’s worth a look.

Thank you! Watching now. It’s really good!

  9. I am praying Victoria ignores the challenge again - third time - next week so the judges will finally auf her.  You could see they're tired of her excuses and aren't buying her lies.  This week it was her language barrier kept her from understanding sheer.  Last week it was claiming she is sooooo inspired by Ashley Longshore's art and she stopped working on her garment hours in advance because it was already perfect.  The week before it was the stupid song & dance about Moldovian women always being dressed up.  She ignores Christian's advice and she's a blatant kiss ass to the judges & guest judges.  And worst of all, her attitude sucks.

It’s not as if Kate said it directly to Jemele. She was venting in her cabin and likely not even cognizant of how it would sound once aired. I would prefer it if they never spoke ill of the charter guests, but they do all the time.  What makes this different?

The difference is Jemele was right. Kate was not making the guests feel special. Jemele just pointed out the obvious. And I agree I’d rather the crew never spoke ill of the chatter guests. I often think how embarrassing it must be for them to watch themselves on TV later.

  11. I hated that Kate referred to Jemele as a b*tch.  It's Kate's job to make the guests feel welcome & special.  Kate is great at a lot of things but she rarely acts enthused or positive. What's going on behind the scenes within the crew is no excuse for not making the guests feel as though serving them is anything less than an absolute pleasure.  They were easy guests, it should not have been a difficult task.  Jamele was feeling like Kate was annoyed & inconvenienced, and that's not acceptable. Kate needed to put it in perspective & shape up rather than take it as a personal assault.

  12. Sophie and Dani are just so wrong for each other, I can't imagine how they even found their way into a relationship.  They seem to have nothing in common, and totally different expectations of each other.  Enter Findley- who will surely be a fling for Sophie, which I predict will end with them mutually deciding they are better in the friend zone.

And on a personal note-- Ewww, does Findley only shower when deodorant isn't enough to neutralize her BO? ...Gurl pleeeease- wash those pits & lady parts,

Season 1 Shiv was so utterly beautiful I was distracted by it every single second.  Her hair was so romantic, and sometimes wavy/curly.  I was falling in love with Sarah Snook.

It makes me a bit ashamed how much has changed in S2.  I've gotten over the infatuation.  Is it really all about the haircut?  I guess I don't like it as much.  LOL.

You echo my very sentiments! 🙂  There is just something completely magnetic about this actress, and now that I've watched all of S2, I'd like to say I'm over her- but I was wrong, I'm still completely fascinated with her.  LOL.  Damn!  I will definitely stand by my assertion that I prefer her hair in S1. It had a 1940's Katharine Hepburn vibe which I found really refreshing. I know they gave her hair a power cut in S2, but I just think it looks too polished and rather stereotypical. To the people who rave about it- yes, technically it looks good on her, but for me, it makes her look too polished & too perfect on the surface, and I find that a turn off.  The one thing we know about all of these characters is there is so much going on deeper than what they show us.  Anyway, isn't it funny a hair style can make that much of a difference?  But let's face it, they can shave her head and she would still be utterly magnetic. That goes for all of the actors on this show.  It's seriously a show with some of the best performances I have ever seen.

Sergio: "Christian is not a Latino...I come from a family of immigrants, and that's something you can't explain to everyone."

Fernando Garcia: "As a Latino, your design suuuuuccked. I wished you elevated the concepts. I feel like this stayed in comic book world."

Ha!  ...Seriously, that comment of Sergio's really ticked me off. How would he know if Christian's family hadn't migrated here? With an Italian last name, I would assume Christian probably had a grandparent or other family member who did migrate from Italy to the US.

  15. I'm relieved that I'm not the only person who has family members who are totally whackadoo.

Nancy's caller- "Italian?- well there's pizza, pasta, cannoli..."  LOL - and poor Geoffery with his mom not knowing how to adjust the volume or whatever.  I felt their pain.

  16. I'm sorry, but I also find Sophie tiresome. Dani is starting to see her her father will never accept them as a couple. This is a very complex & painful situation for Dani, so Sophie needs to give her time to process it.  Dani will get there.

I wasn’t thrilled with Victoria’s winning look either, but when they showed the pics of Karli wearing it, with edgy hair and makeup, I got it.  I just wished they showed a bigger photo to give us a better look.

They quickly flashed a couple of tilted, small, dark photos with dramatic lighting for a reason. Karlie's edgy hair & makeup helped, for sure, but I wasn't a huge fan of the look in general.  I thought the top part was sort of boxy & bulky.
