  1. Tonight's couple in Chicago drove me mad! Of course they went like $17k over budget. He was a complete tool! And she seemed way too excited to be with him. While they were touring the home, he said he would have to rip out the existing wood floors because they were installed on a diagonal?! In the end, he said they ripped them out because they didn't like the oak color because it dated the house. So wouldn't it have been so much cheaper to have them sanded and stained a darker color? Doing that would have saved them thousands! Then I saw that they spent $750 on bathroom ACCESSORIES!! I don't know what kind of towels and toothbrush holder they bought, but good grief!! They could have easily saved $500 there. I want to be on this show just to prove I could stick to my budget. If something unexpected came up, I would have to compromise, delay, or just not do something else so I could stick to my budget.

  2. I didn't understand the Sugarland couple either, except she wanted charm. They complained about needing 2 bathrooms, but got the house with 1 bathroom and it was the smallest! And it drives me mad when people complain about a bathroom and say "it's not a place where I'd want to spend a lot of my time." Ummm...it's a bathroom! Take a showet, brush your teeth, do your business. It's not like you're going in there to relax and watch TV or "entertain"!

  3. I have no idea if the timing works out to him really being a 4th year med student, but he's cute and I missed him. And truthishly, he deserved better than that dumb firehouse, especially now that Shay isn't there.

He deserves better than anything with "Chicago" in it's title.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you need a few years of pre med, then at least 4-5 of med school?

  4. I read an article about the TSA failures and how they are spending hundreds of millons of dollars to keep us safe. Unfortunately, we were safer BEFORE all these safety procedures. I thought it was interesting though that someone suggested bomb sniffing dogs. Obviously, humans and machines are not effective so I'm all for trained dogs in the airport. The best idea doesn't need to be the most expensive.

  5. Elementary has never been particular revolutionary television. I've primarily watched it just for the character interactions, but both of last night's episodes - and the season as a whole - have been very dull to me.

I agree. I feel like JLM's talent is being wasted lately.

  6. Juliet, I agree with you about some of those "must haves" that they went over budget to have. Spending $1900 on that kitchen island was a waste of money IMO.

I didn't realize the island was $1900!!!! Seriously? That was definitely an unneeded expense IMO. It looked like an ordinary narrow table! I wish these homeowners would balk at some of these costlier items. When I remodeled my kitchen and bath, the internet was my best friend. I bought light fixtures, cabinet hardware, bathroom vanities and sinks, furniture, accessories, etc. for a fraction of what local businesses were charging and I had a huge selection to choose from.

  7. Another couple that went $30k over budget. I just don't get it - I have to put getting a new driveway on hold because it's $1000 more than I had budgeted for. In my opinion, the fireplace could have waited. And $11k for SS appliances? You can cook on a $800 SS stove just as well as a $4000 one! A $1500 SS refrigerator keeps stuff just as cold as a $5000 one. I agree about the kid's bathroom not needing to be done immediately. I could have done without the kitchen island. The kitchen was too narrow - it seemed more in the way than anything.

  8. Ugh. Can we trade T-Bag for Mahone? I was tired of him since Season 2.

I love T-Bag in season 1 & 2. Season 4 he was like a cartoon character. I'm just pretending season 3 didn't happen at all.

  9. I'm over Casey's political storyline. I'm way over Stella. I think she is the worst one thus far. Bring back Clark already! I agree with the other posters...why don't Otis and Cruz ever have girlfriends?? They are both good looking, nice guys who are also firemen. Are Brett and Jimmy dating? I can't remember.

  10. I recently moved after living in the desert for over 30 years. Where I lived, the water company would pay you to remove your grass, etc in favor of desert landscape. All new builds automatically came with desert landscaping after 2000, I believe. I don't know why realtors don't mention that to these "I want lush green grass" homebuyers.

  11. Does Severide a get police paycheck too? Not only does he find the body, but then finds the mother, gets the suspect, beats him up, etc. What did the detective do? Bitch that Severide didn't follow protocol but asks him anyway to go back to the mom's house because he knew her. New girl and her deadbeat husband do not interest me at all. And considering he's living off his ex wife, he has a nice, big Chicago apartment. Is Holly Robinson Peete going to be part of a love triangle with Casey and Gabby? Hermann has his kid's bday party at what looks like a Chuck E. Cheese. Why did he need a band to play as well? This show needs way more fires/accidents and a lot less personal stories outside the firehouse.

  12. Baltimore couple: "we're foodies!"

    Me: *delete*

    LOL!!!

Tonight's episode with the family from Detroit. She drove me batty! She would not stop smiling when she was sitting next to her husband. It was weird. And of course they picked the house right down the street from the RR tracks. Good luck with your baby taking a nap with the train going by. I live about 4 miles from some tracks and sometimes, the train wakes me up in the middle of the night.

  13. I wasn't a fan of the OC wife at all. The husband didnt bother me. For once, it was nice to hear a legitimate reason why the homeowner didn't like a specific style of house. He didn't like the Spanish or Mediterranean style because of animals he has had to retrieve from the tiles. But, of course, that's the style the entitled wife wanted so that's what they got.

I'm curious if there has ever been a Where Are They Now episode with a couple that is no longer together.

  14. If this whole show ends with Fred Savage waking up in his bed, next to his wife, Winnie Cooper, then I will take back every negative thing I have ever said about this show, ever.

Yes!!!! That would be awesome!!! Send that idea to the writers...they need some help!

  15. I just turned on the Austin dudes. One of them is named Kyler? Like, his parents couldn't decide between Kyle and Tyler?

I HATE HIS HAIR SO MUCH.

I googled him and came across info about his dad. His dad is Lee Kyler Allison. So at least now his name makes more sense. The haircut, however, will never make sense.
