  1. I think Abbie's attempt to reconnect with Danny, even though he admits that he has secrets he isn't willing to share, is a symptom of her PTSD. In much the same way she was used the symbol to maintain her sanity, I think she's using Danny as her touchstone to normalcy. Otherwise, she would have expected him to share his secrets before that kiss. Abbie's taking a huge gamble on Danny's love/integrity, and she's usually not reckless like that. It's a gamble that won't pay off because Danny doesn't love her - he can't, because he has no idea who she is. I thought he would have asked all sorts of questions before going in for that kiss, but all he seemed interested in was Crane. He showed no real interest in that part of her life, which makes me think that he doesn't and won't get it. The fact that Danny is her supervisor makes the relationship questionable, but I WILL BE EXTREMELY IRRITATED IF ABBIE QUITS HER DREAM JOB TO PURSUE A DOOMED PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP. Don't get me wrong, I prefer Abbie as a cop and would be happy to see the FBI go away, but not because of a guy. I was upset that TPTB went there with Danabbie, but for the same reasons I was upset with zzzzZoe - BORING. I think Zoe and Danny were/are passive aggressive time wasters, so I'm hoping TPTB did so because they know they have the time. It will be worth it if it allows Abbie to be open to a romantic future with Crane, and we get time to see it play out. So happy that Pandora played THO, and I think her comments about Ichabbie is TPTB acknowledgment of Ichabbie as end game. Probably a pipe dream, but the Ichabbie shipper in me refuses to believe otherwise. I don't see the point of Ezra Mills. It looks more like a set up for next season - hopefully.
  2. Another solid episode – I like what the new show runner is doing, and can’t wait for the back half in February. Here’s what I liked best about this episode. “Brightest, most learned minds in academia” – I’m sure the cheesy toga scene was intended to add some humor (I was amused because I love the cheese especially right after Crane’s pontificating), but it wasn’t necessary since Agents Clueless (Reynolds and Sophie) are providing me with all the humor I need. Agents Clueless Greatest Hits: 1. Sophie to Abbie – “share what you know”, “where’s Jenny”, “we trying to help you.” Does she really think Abbie is that dumb? It’s obvious who needs help and it’s not Abbie. 2. Sophie to Nevins – threat, threat, threat, “I like you,” “I want to do you a solid,” and “we can protect you.” Nevins laughs (so did I) before asking for Abbie, and Sophie thinks Nevins is trying to play her. She’s either clueless about the supernatural goings on or she’s not too bright. I like Sophie, so I vote for the latter. 3. Sophie to Reynolds – “He’s likely injured.” Sure he is. I wonder how much money the FBI will spend looking for Nevins. Btw, did Pandora eat him? 4. Reynolds to Abbie – “You do not walk out on me, I’m your superior officer,” and later it was “if you can’t give me the answers I need.” Either this guy doesn’t know Abbie or he’s so emotionally involved that he can’t help himself. I know he’s pissed and understand why he feels that way, but if Abbie is really an asset the FBI is cultivating, shouldn’t he be a little more diplomatic/accommodating because Abbie was looking for a way to make it work. When he gave the ultimatum, she walked away without looking back, and that is not a good sign. Here’s hoping Joe uses his inheritance to buy the archives and stock the armory so Team Witness can all quit their day jobs. 5. Reynolds to Sophie – “She’s trained to wage war.” Yes she is, but not by you or the FBI. Clueless. 6. Reynolds to Sophie – “I need you to find her.” I don’t know if Abbie will want to come back, but even if she does, she’s smart enough to wonder why the FBI would want her back. However, I doubt the FBI and Reynolds will let Abbie go without a fight. Maybe they’ll threaten to go after Jenny and/or Crane since both are soft targets. Of course, the fact that the FBI wants to make Abbie an asset instead of forming a partnership with her indicates a serious lack of understanding about what is really going on. Favorite things: 1. I love that Pandora is still fascinated with Abbie, and was actively trying to recruit her with “there is a place for you two witnesses in our new world order, you have a right by lineage” immediately followed by a Jenny taunt. I wonder if her witness taunting will be transferred to Crane while Abbie is in the underworld. I can her hear now saying something like – of all the witnesses I’ve encountered throughout time, she shone brightest, such a tragedy that her fellow witness continually failed her – or something along those lines. Crane will already be devastated, so everyone and everything should pile on – Pandora taunts, Reynolds threatens deportation, etc, while Crane struggles with love that grips the heart, forcing logic to abandon the mind. I want to see him cross some lines. However, I don’t want Abbie gone for more than one episode, so maybe not. 2. “I mean it, wait for the beep.” I hope that the show will put some of Crane’s messages up on their website the way they did with Abbie’s phone after Tempus Fugit. 3. “Roger that.” “Hardily seconded.” Joe/Crane dynamic really works. I loved Irving, but Joe fits better with Crane. 4. “This plan of ours is crazy.” “Is that a question?” “Ready to fight some bad guys Crane?” “Indeed.” “My man.” Everything about that scene was Ichabbie perfection. 5. Crane and Pandora’s Box off - First he tasered her, then he fought her for her box. Way to go Crane! Maybe Pandora will be less arrogant and dismissive of the witnesses in the future. Btw, I thought the taser worked because electricity is a natural element and most of the ancient gods had a natural element as their power. 6. Control freak Abbie – Although I enjoyed seeing Abbie a little out of control in her scenes with Reynolds and Sophie, as well as her impatience with Crane’s pontificating, I enjoyed her most as she called the shard back to its container and opened the tree to save her loved ones. I could be wrong, but I thought Abbie called on her power as a Witness to do both those things. Wonder if she will come back from the underworld permanently bonded to the those shard remnants. 7. “We shall be together in all things.” The hidden one (THO) didn’t complete his power transfer, which will probably make it more difficult for him to transform the world as he wishes, and I bet he’ll blame the wife for that. The guy doesn’t seem easy to please, and I doubt Pandora will put up with that for long. I think this is foreshadowing the melt down of Pandora and her hubby’s love with Pandora switching sides to defeat THO. Team Witness could use some gray. 8. Destruction of Pandora’s Box – this allows Headless back into the world. 9. No SBR or zzzZoe – If the show is determined to keep zzzZoe around, make her evil. She could be the daughter of a hessian or head witch of the dark coven that Headless visits to find out what is going on with the witnesses. As for SBR, I can’t think of anything that would make her palatable.
  3. Loved this episode and can't wait for the mid-season finale. I think the show is foreshadowing a major meltdown for Abbie. Jenny called Abbie a control freak and this episode focuses on how little control Abbie has over everything in her life with the exception of Crane. Jenny and Joe don't listen when she tells them to stay away from Nevins. As a result Jenny is taken away from Abbie, which will bring back memories of their childhood. Reynolds is testing/manipulating Abbie by dangling career advancement in front of her like a carrot and Sophie is revealed as FBI and part of an inner circle that excludes Abbie. Although Crane is following Abbie's lead this season, she's pushing him away the way she did this episode when he tried to tell her he's afraid of losing her. Abbie immediately broke eye contact and I think that's why Crane added the promotion bit. Abbie reenaged at that point assuring him that Jenny, she, and Joe will be their for him. I think Ichabbie (Abbie especially) are seriously off their game because they're in avoidance mode about everything that has happened and instead of dealing with the fallout, Crane ran off to Scotland and Abbie ran off to Quantico. Both are struggling with their partner dynamic now that Katrina is no longer an emotional barrier. Crane is looking for a way back in, but Abbie has shut down and will most likely come unraveled soon. As for Reynolds and Sophie, I don't think either knows about the supernatural aspect of their investigation. Reynolds doesn't understand Abbie and Crane's relationship, and he seemed surprised when the director mentioned Abbie being on the radar. The director was talking about Abbie because her first FBI boss said basically the same thing. Reynolds will also be surprised and angry when TPTB limit any damage to Abbie's career caused by her actions. As for Sophia, she's making weak threats to scare off Jenny and Crane because she's feeling superior as an FBI agent in the know, which I don't she would do unless she's clueless about the supernatural element.
  4. It might work, if the focus was shifted to team witness instead Crane. If Ichabbie or Jenny and Joe had a close encounter with headless the way Irving did, I'd be onboard, especially if it happened without warning.
  5. I wouldn't mind either of these, but I don't think it will be that easy. Something seems off with Zoe. She's always around (her at the bowling alley dressed as sexy Betsy was too convenient),and she's too accepting of Crane's weirdness. While I don't have a problem with the townspeople's acceptance of Crane's weirdness - Zoe's dating the guy. I need to understand the attraction. My fear is that she'll turn out to be Betsy in magical disguise, so I'm hoping for evil instead. However both those options are preferable to sloppy writing.
  6. I agree about S1 headless, which is why I was happy to see him go into Pandora's box. S2 did major damage to every character, but Katrina who had no perceivable personality to damage. Hopefully headless will come out of Pandora's box as his S1 scary self, and Andy can come back as his mouth piece, and Kindred can return to protect the witnesses... sigh - wishful thinking.
  7. I thoroughly enjoyed this episode, especially Abbie's scenes with Reynolds. I can now understand the attraction, and I also understand why Abbie walked away. It can be summed up in two lines from Reynolds - I would own the map, and you left, but I'm still there. You get his drive, his passion, and his refusal to move on. In his paranoid state, you get his anger, envy, jealousy and suspicion of both Abbie and Crane. I'm sure Crane calling Abbie Lieutenant Agent didn't help because it let Reynolds know that Ichabod and Abbie have history that predates him, which she never mentioned. He could become a major headache for Abbie and Crane at the worst possible time - way to raise the stakes show. Add in Jenny possessing some serious power that may belong or be coveted by someone more powerful than Pandora, and everything should blow up in SH quite nicely just in time for sweeps. All we need is for Zoe to go all creepazoid when Crane wants to slow their romance down or return to platonic, and Papa Mills to show up.
  8. I think you meant Ron Weezly, not Harry Potter. I know a lot of people thought Harry and Hermione should have hooked up, but both were outsiders, and the Weezly's were a large, loving family and wizard blue bloods. Anyway, I agree with your point about Joe and Jenny, and to my point about Harry Potter, it would make sense if Joe/Jenny hooked up because of the whole family/fighting evil ties. Jenny wants to be tied to Corbin and Joe wants to be tied to the Mills.
  9. I agree, especially with 2 and 3. I want to see Abbie and Crane fight evil and hang out. That's harder to do if everyone is gainfully employed. The show could fix that by having Abbie and Jennie open up a PI firm. I know the FBI/Reynolds is there to cause conflict, but I don't want it to interfere with the fighting evil aspect of the show or turn into a soap opera. I used to watch soap operas and whenever they brought in a new actor because of their "amazing" chemistry with an established actor, it was a disaster. I'm not a fan of the Zoe/BR thing either, but those aren't unpopular opinions. I love, empathize and sympathize with both Abbie and Ichabod, but the fantasy geek in me finds Ichy more compelling - the whole man out of time battling evil to save world thing.
  10. Count me in. I'm enjoying S3, and my shipper heart is still beating strong. I love Ichabbie, Abbie and Jenny, Crane and Jenny, Joenny, and Pandora and her treevil (love that name but can't remember where I got it). Could do without BR and Zoe as I would rather see Crane with Ben Franklin in the past or Abbie, Jenny, Joe or how about Reynolds in the present (bet that would be fun).
  11. S3 should focus on rehabilitating Ichabod (S2 jerk) and Abbie (S2 enabler of Ike’s jerkiness), and rebalancing their bond. Although I blame the writers/showrunners for mishandling these marvelous characters, I want my show and these marvelous characters back, and I want the show/characters fixed within the storyline/character context. We need Ichabbie’s sniping, peevish, eye rolling, humorous, intense partnership, and the writers can give this back to us while dealing with the fallout from Henry/Katrina’s deaths without it being about either Henry or Katrina. Here what I’d like to see S3: 1. Tackle S2 Ike’s jerkiness by exploring the dichotomy between Past/Present Ichabod. Abbie could trigger this exploration by mentioning the Past/Present Ichabod differences. People talk about Past Ichabod being smart, confident and self-assured. What I noticed was how repressed he was with everyone but Abbie. He was calm and collected in the midst of battle, with Franklin, Sutton, and Katrina, but intense with Abbie. Although I am an Ichabbie shipper, I don’t think this intensity was romantic or sexual in nature. I think Abbie’s truths cracked the protective mask he displayed to the world. In the second jail scene, he was more interested in discussing their bond than he was in discussing Franklin’s death. He was furious with Abbie for keeping the truth of her conversation with Franklin from him, and even more furious with Abbie for telling him the truth about Katrina. He expected and accepted Franklin sending him from the room in order to have an adult conversation with no display of anger. He accepted Sutton’s disdain and resentment (this relationship and his relationship with his men may have been the only genuine connections he had before Abbie). He quickly accepted Present Katrina’s evil turn with sadness, but no display of anger. I think he elevated or denigrated the founding fathers and Katrina to protect him from the lies and manipulations that surrounded him. He desperately needed Abbie’s truths, and once he accepted them was able to move forward to face the Horseman and Katrina at peace with himself and his place in the world unlike S1 were he faced the Horseman as an innocent with no knowledge of himself or his place in the world. Without the passive aggressive, guilt trippy shading of his wife, Ike would have probably given Katrina the heave ho the first time she decided to stay with Abraham. 2. Tackle Abbie’s comment about Ike being her weakness, which didn’t really play out in S2. All we got was Abbie broaching difficult issues with Ike and then giving up or giving in with an impressive eye roll. She seemed hesitant to insert herself into CFD, and since she was MIA the later part of the season, I need the writers to give me something to help me understand her POV without making it about Henry/Katrina. Although extremely guarded, she is devoted to the people she loves, and I wonder if she was afraid she would lose Ike if she pushed too hard. Again, the writers didn’t give us much to work with here. I would like to see Abbie express her hurt and doubts about the witness bond, and for them to discuss his jerkiness without him dumping any blame on her. Ike needs to do some serious groveling and penance for hurting her as part of the Henry/Katrina fallout. 3. The writers should introduce more Abbie back-story – not a guy since she’s emotionally unavailable and focused on the witness fight, and not her father because I’m not sure if the writers can deliver this story. How about her foster parents? She doesn’t talk about them. Why? 4. Re-visit Abbie and Jenny’s encounter with Moloch in the woods. They survived 4 days in the woods with a demon, and survived. Why? Without Abbie, Ike would have been easy to kill or control when he awakened. The Masons could have poisoned him or Henry could have “rescued” him. Is Abbie protected in some way? Did someone intervene? Was it ordained by God to send Abby and Jenny on a collision course with Corbin to prepare them for what was to come? On the similar note, why didn’t the Horseman decapitate Ike on the battlefield? Only time I’ve seen him go for the chest instead of the head. Hard to be witness without a head. 5. Give Irving his job back. I would love to see him and Reyes forced to work cases together. I’ll just ignore the silliness of the police/sheriff departments being co-located. 6. I wouldn’t mind another encounter with Jenny’s foster “mom.” What a delightfully malicious piece of work. Jenny and Abbie could both interact with her this time, and we’d need Ike and Irving there to prevent a murder, but what fun. How about more Big Ash and sleepy Frank? 7. If they feel the need for a romantic pairing at this point, explore the Irving/Jenny connection. I don’t see Irving reaching out to his daughter or his ex because of the danger.
